He was already, thanks to Urasawa's plot armour protecting him in entire anime.

Sis, I didn't make the rules. That's Johan. A super hypergenius , with insane social skills, who can make people go insane. One person said it best. If Johan met Light, he might convince Light to kill himself. Johan has an angelic face, but he is a monster. Then again, in the anime, it was open to interpretation about who the real Monster was, but I won't get into that. We don't need to see how he did the manipulation. We just believe. I know that sounds lazy...and you are right...In the real world, it wouldn't be possible for a man to get away with so much...without leaving any traces...But hey...Anime.

Hmmmm.... Manipulative by using truth/lies other tricks I think it would be:
Aizen Sousuke from Bleach
Sora from No game No life
Riku from No game No life zero (6th volume ln version is quite better)
Wein from Tensai Ouji

So far those are all characters which comes to my mind right now

Probably Light because the only one to not fall for his lies was L and even he needed a fair amount of time to confirm his speculations. The scene where Light manipulated Naomi was impressive.

Light is definitely up there, and perhaps Ayanokouji too. I haven't watched Monster yet, but Johan seems like someone of the caliber of Light.

Technically, Lawrence and Holo (Ookami to Koushinryou) are quite good when it comes to manipulating the market...

On a more serious note, I like Light Yagami (Death Note), Gendou Ikari (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Ai Magase (Babylon).
