| My protagonist list: 1. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) - Always be my main hero and I cannot explain my 20+ years of loyalty but he is just the top 1 and nothing beats him for me 2. Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto series) - Before Natsu and Asta, I met Naruto first. So damn annoying but his very inspiring. 3. Ueki Kousuke (Law of Ueki ) - Reminds me a lof of luffy. periodt. 4. Gon Freecss (HunterxHunter) - This young kid's positivity even in dark places is always a refreshing character to me. 5. Kinomoto Sakura (Cardcaptor Sakura) - for an elementary student, I want to live her life! Great talents, great friends, great love life 6. Sakata Gintoki (Gintama) - A man of humor and character. 7. Sakura Mikan (Alice Gakuen) - One of the few solid female protagonist with a credo like Naruto in a totally different setting 8. Senku (Dr. Stone) - Cold and smart and the main character? that's very rare for a shounen protagonist! 9. Mogami Kyoko (Skip beat) - This girl's guts is the best I have seen that's quite applicable in real life. 10. Himura Kenshin (Rorouni Kenshin) - The samurai bushido code started from him and his story. |

Seven out of ten is close enough considering that OP just said "protagonist" as opposed to "main protagonists" or "main characters." And yes, I'm playing with semantics because some of the shows I've watched have multiple characters that push their stories forward and go though and overcome their own hardships and don't just merely support the designated main character. |

| Anime: - Black Lagoon - Revy, the coolest badass chick I have ever seen - Psycho Pass - Akane Tsunemori, smart girl that doesn't take no for an answer - Dororo - Dororo, without Dororo, Hyakkimaru (the other protagonist) would be totally lost, literally & figuratively - Gintama - the holy trinity Gintoki, Shinpachi & Kagura AKA Yorozuya - Saiki K - Saiki Kusuo, the star of the show, really loved this show, so many good laughs. - Youjo Senki - Tanya Degurechaff, a great show about WW II in an alternative world. Tanya gains the nickname 'Devil of the Rhine' during the war, do I need to say more? :D Manhwa: - Solo Leveling - Sung Jin-Woo, not only does he become an ultimate badass, but he remains even humble and loyal to his people. Despite being overdosed on power that can defy the Gods themselves - Eleceed - Lord Kaiden, an ultimate badass who is the sensei of the other protagonist Jinwoo Seo & when out of combat is 1 hell of a funny fat cat. If you like reading manhwa & like cats, do yourself a favor and try this one out. It's a real wholesome serie, it deserves more attention and exposition. - Overgeared 2020 - Greed AKA Grit, despite being a bit socially akward in the beginning and a nagger for having a 'useless' legendary class in the VRMMO game. He evolves to a strong character (thx to his class), surrounded with other strong colorfull characters. - Tales of Demons and Gods - Nie Li, this guy has 1 goal only and whatever happens, he never strays from that goal. It's a long and hard road, but slowly and surely, he'll achieve his goal. (because he reincarnated and didn't loose his memory so he knows A LOT) |
