Is it supposed to be a metaphor for sex? Or just something like kissing? Obviously it's meant to be pretty intimate seeing how Dominique and Noe do it, but I was juts curious to see if anyone else had different meanings.

seems like it, yeah. It's really dumb idea imo. That show just plain sucks.

Jun Mochizuki has a lot of cheap tricks up her sleeve to pull in the targeted audience, kudos to her because it's been a success, but it does come across as a little pathetic at times.

I don't think it's meant to be like that all the time, but yeah a lot of the time there seems to be a sexual innuendo with it.

GakutoDeathGlare has a lot of shit comments up his sleeve to pull in attention, kudos to him because it's been effective, but it does come across more than a little pathetic at times.

If you know the original Dracula story and old vampire folklore, they always had erotic themes tied to it. The writer of Vanitas is just using those tropes.

The characters with names like de Sade or "beast of Gevaudan" are also soft historical references. Let's just say Jun Mochizuki is an Europeaboo.

"All truth is meaningless. In the end, 'meaning' comes from the mind of each individual human. Even when there is a single truth, it can mean different things to different individuals. The truth has no meaning in itself!" - Erika Furudo

Vampire setting always contains an erotic and/or romantic context. Bloodsucking in Vanitas obviously uses as euphemism for sex. So sad, erotica lost to cheap fanservice like this.

The bloodsucking scenes were exaggerated in the anime adaptation, which is why it appears to be sexual.
