For me It's gintama,3 Gatsu no lion, Hunter x Hunter, jujutsu kaisen, demon slayer and mob Psycho imo, some of the few anime 100% better than the manga + Jojo part 1-5

Ousama Ranking is the joke answer

Agree with Demon Slayer

Maybe a controversial but Jojo, I think Araki's art is really cluttered in B&W and action scenes are hard to follow

I agree with most of your picks.
Demon slayer manga was pretty good but damn the difference between manga and anime's quality is huge. I mean even if the manga did not have any adaptation, I would still say the manga is solid but the anime just made it clear how good Ufotable are.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

As long as they follow the manga faithfully (or close enough) and they adapt a sizeable portion of the manga, I generally find most anime to be better than their manga counterparts

Now, to that end, R.O.D THE TV, one of my favorite anime ever made, is completely different from the READ OR DREAM manga. But all the R.O.D anime, light novels and manga were written by the same person, so it still captures the cast and setting well enough to best the manga

I think Yozakura Quartet is the only manga I've read that's better than the anime. The anime not being in chronological order, skipping arcs, being an incomplete adaptation and having a completely non-canon season didn't do it any favors

K-On. KyoAni's top tier animation quality and actually being able to hear the music in a story about music easily makes the anime superior to the manga.

I agree with your pick there, especially Demon slayer
I will add Interspecies reviewer (usually in ecchi adaptation, they will tone down some ecchi scene but here they added more)

Planetes the anime is much more interesting than the manga. I found the manga to be on the boring side in places.

Absolutely agree on HunterxHunter and Gintama, but at least HxH is easier to read even though has consistently low effort drawings

To add something I would say all of Jojo parts till now, Your lie in April (the manga is nothing special, but anime made it fantastic), Attack on Titan and Saiki K (too much talking)

Definitely Hunter x Hunter and JoJo, despite being a fan of those two anime I can't bring myself to read their manga it's too chaotic for my eyes

I'd like to say Ranma 1/2, english dub/sub it don't matter.

The manga was source material, but I like the anime better though.

You've got me beat as far as reading material.

May be a little controversial but I think that the original ghost in the shell movie is way better than the manga.

If it wasn't for Oshii and his addition of philosophical stuff, the manga would be just another sci fi work with nothing special at all (and it took me months to finish it because it doesn't follow the "show, don't tell" rule most of the time, at least I'm thankful that 1.5 and 2 are much shorter to a standard manga tankoubon).
I know your PTW list is bigger than your completed list.

You should see some of the manga creators artbooks, have you seen Dominion Tank Police?
What do you think of his art style?

With dominion so far I only watched the original ova series and it was a 7/10 for me, just in case, the original Appleseed ova was also a 7/10 and black magic was 6/10. I want to continue the first 2 but most stuff under 8/10 in general i don't put their next anime to watch on my PTW due to priorities.

To me, shirow is one of my favorite mangaka in terms of art and aesthetics, i personally like his digital art more than his traditional art. This is one of the reasons why I bought 1.5 and 2, the other one is because I already liked GitS as an anime and the original movie is one of my favorite anime.

At the risk of "explaining the joke"... apparently some choose to deny the existence of the Bunny Drop manga, due to dissatisfaction with story developments later on, beyond the point that the anime adapts. It's similar to the belief back in the 2000s that there was no Tsukihime anime.

Definitely JoJo. The manga had inaccurate coloring issues, hard to follow fight scenes (B&W ver) and some pacing issues. The anime pretty much smooths them out

He was among my favorites when I was younger, I had collected art from different artists like Olivia, Louis Royo and others.

Good man though for appreciating his work.

I was curious, I still have yet to watch Ghost in the Shell and the various anime adaptations, but I do like his character designs.

Appleseed is a series, where I have committed an anime sin on, for not watching yet.

True.

Well and ghost in the shell maybe. Idk the manga had to much drugs and lesbian parties for this kind of story

Same though.
If an anime is faithful to the source it's essentially just the manga+ animation+music+great voice acting

Faithful adaptations are usually better then the original because they are just an enhanced version of the original .

Easyyyyyyyyyy! Usagi Drop the animation is pretty much way better than the original content. I mean, not that I hate Usagi's manga, just that the animated show is much more pleasing overall.

This is kind of an unknown one, but the OVA series Tsubasa: Tokyo Revelations (which covers the Tokyo Arc of Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE) was basically a perfect adaptation and really helped me understand everything going on, since the manga can be confusing at times. It's also made by production I.G. so the animation and art are really good.
