Why do MAL anime fans love replying to shit bait thread such as ""x is best/worst anime of all time"?
| Honestly at this point it's almost as overused as isekai anime. And unlike isekai, the idea behind it was never good to begin with. "Is AoT the ultimate magnum opus of animation?" "AoT is the most overrated thing in history!" "A response to all the wanna be elitists and haters. Demon slayer is modern classic in making." "KnY is the worst anime of all time!" Now my point isn't why people make these kind of threads. There's always be a troll/baiter who want to provoke bickering by creating bait threads. But seriously? Has anime fanbase on MAL has stooped so down below that the lowest common denominator of a "bait thread" is the one that gets popular?? It being "good" or "bad" is just something too generic that you can slap it to every anime ever. These threads make me missed the popular "bait threads" a while ago. At least they have some bit of interesting thought experiments (e.g. rape in Redo of Healer and Goblin Slayer, age/maturity debate in Mushoku Tensei, Monogatari, and Uzaki-chan, slavery in Shield Hero, etcetc) even though they're also have been beaten to death. These kind of threads is basically just designed to attract 0 braincell fanboyism vs 0 braincell hateboner. |

| Mate we're on MAL this is the place where people casually say they'll r*** your mum or promote suicide if you talk shit about their favorite show even if it's absolute garbage. Hardcore anime fans are really weird outside of Japan I hate a lot of these mfers but they're very entertaining. It's like watching a bunch of guys white knighting over the best girl at school only that best girl is just an anime. I don't get baited, you can talk shit about Black Lagoon and I'll listen and note your points in my head, if you talk shit about Akira (rightfully so) I'd send you to read the manga even if you're an illiterate monkey. I think it's very important as a member of a critique community to understand other people's perspectives, this is why being stuck in our own internet echo chambers is such a dangerous thing. | Um actually, while I agree that SNK doesn't stand at the top of the 2010s. I also have to disagree with "Demon slayer is modern classic in making" statement. I'm not going to pretend like I haven't been got before, I've been seen in some of the more well camouflaged bait threads, but I actively try to see passed it nowadays. |
