Wow Now Meta Liberation Army has joined League of Villain and become "The Paranormal Liberation Front".

This is a huge problem for Heroes of course.

Idk how Deku and the rest of Yuei gonna be ready for what's coming.

At least Bones did a good job on MVA for me Anime only.

The music in MHA has always been great and consistent but maaaan that OST when Tomura went off while destroying everything around him. 🔥🔥🔥

This arc is amazing!

what a great arc!
Before this Shgaraki was just another placeholder, a wall for the heroes to get over. I like how they fleshed him out.
I think I don't know wtf I'm doing. Maybe. Probably.

i might be the only one who's made the comparison but i see a lot of similarity between shigaraki and eri. eri was someone who was helped out of their cycle of abuse by heroes, however, while shigaraki was helped out of his with the help of villains.

Too bad they wasted so much time on him, everything could have been done in like 2 episodes, but sadly not. It just shows how badly written he is "i got ignored when I needed help so now I'm going to hurt innocent people", very good, very good.

I guess we already know Re-Destro wouldn't stand a chance defeating Tomura since he looked weaker against him. It was a tough fight! Re-Destro looks very energetic despite being handicapped, which is a good sign X) At least that!

Next week is the last episode, but I'm happy to know we will see Class 1-A before the closing this season TTwTT It's been a while!

I like where the series is at a lot more now than before this arc. The League (now Paranormal Liberation Front) actually seems like a threat instead of a nuisense that always got away somehow. It never made a lot of sense for the 2 sides to be fighting each other anyway.

I'm just wondering: I count 6 pairs of hands initially (his sister, dad, mom, 2 grandparents). I assume the other pairs are from those 2 thugs he killed? But he destroyed one while grabbing for it..

Ehhh, I'm sure plenty of people disagree and I usually love the super evil bad guy too, but I really liked the idea of Shiguraki being a tragic character who was manipulated by A4O and molded into a super evil character. To me that would have been great, and left the door open for a mild redemption (although I know he'd definitely end up either going to jail or dying at some point). But no for some reason his dad was a jerk to him once even though he had a good family otherwise and he was happy with murdering them all for no reason, even though he was like 6 years old or whatever it was. Again I'm sure plenty of people disagree with me and like it this way, but this just feels to me like bad guy just because he's bad and it feels like a shallow motivation for why he's bad and was that way from the beginning. I'd much prefer a deep character that turns because of something and then slowly justifies why he's bad, as opposed to "Oh I just wanted to kill him and felt good about it". But he's still a badass character and the end of the season got a better for me thankfully. I love this show but for me 80% of the beginning was boring stuff and disappointing when I compare it to how amazing the other seasons were. The only stuff I loved was One For All flashbacks, the stuff about the Vestiges/New Powers and I liked a little bit of the stuff with Endeavor and trying to figure out what was best for his family. But for some reason this seasons school battles and stuff didn't do anything for me. Hopefully S6 carries the ending of this seasons momentum and we have some amazing stuff.

He is a complex character beacuse there are 2 sides to his inherit nature.
His grandmas side that makes him want to help people and be a hero and his quirk side that urges him to destroy.
Those 2 sides were at constant odds with each other and Shiggy had a hard time understanding what he actually feels and wants. This paired with his dads emotional abuse (it was more then just slapping, he was being punished for doing nothing wrong and kids understand when they are not in the wrong).
Also when you are 5 years old you dont think about the consequences as your brain isnt developed yet, you only react to your surraunding and execute any idea you get without thinking ahead.
So after his good side wasnt able to hold back his desteuctive urges and all went to shit, no one was there to guide him...other then AFO.
Now AFO installed his ideology inside a 5 year olds brain and in case you didnt know kids at that age are easily influenced by the nature and ideas of their guardians.
AFOs philosophy is that the point of living is fullfilling your own happiness and desires, which even tho twisted in Shiggys case is the correct mindset. However AFO made sure to kill the grandmas side of Shiggy which was preasent when Shiggy didnt want to kill his attackers at first.

Alright well from what I saw it made it seem like his family was good except for his dad, and yeah I guess 5 year olds Don't know, but still killing your family and being happy about it is pretty F'd even at 5. Most kids even if they were mad, afterwards they'd break down emotionally not feel better. Just wasn't the way I was hoping it would go is all, but I'm sure the Manga fleshes it out and I'd probably appreciate it a lot more.

I saw that but I thought that was a powers thing, he also said he felt good about it and was glad he killed him. "I wanted to kill him, watching my mother and the others crumble away made my heart feel lighter" I get being made at his dad but why would he be happy about killing them?

Either way, I just wish it went a different way so I'll probably never be happy with that situation, But I'm sure plenty of people love it and completely disagree with me.

I saw that but I thought that was a powers thing, he also said he felt good about it and was glad he killed him.

Yes he felt good when he killed his dad, but he still felt guilt after it. Its like feeling guilty after jerking off.
What AFO did is teach Shiggy to not feel guilt over listening to his destructive urges.
Whats tragic is that Shuggy did also have the urge to help people, him playing with lonely kids was amazing for a kid his age. Even now he stated that he would not destroy the things that his league members like which the Doctor answered that he is being too soft.
Even now there is still some good thats only reserved for his friends, but AFO made sure to kill most of the good inside him.

Btw you read everything right? Now that he had ALL of the Army behind him, how crazy is S6 going to be? If ALL of them are fighting the waaaay smaller number of heroes I bet it's going to be nuts. Also, how much better was the manga for this last half of the season than the show since it didn't have to be altered for a movie and they could flesh everything out more. Btw does MVA continue through to the next season, or is the forming of this team and the end of the ending of this season what MVA is, and then next season is something else.

In a vacuum, this was a good episode. But when taking into account the arc as a whole... what a disappointment. I feel bad for the staff, because they did put a lot of effort into this, but whatever suit is responsible for this season needs to be fired. This mess of an adaptation just makes me depressed. With MVA pretty much done, all I can say is: Yeah, just read the manga.

What a letdown.

What AFO did to Shigaraki was plain cruel but I think this ep highlighted that there was always something twisted about him - AFO just took it and molded into an evil that he could control. I feel like Shigaraki is like a version of Deku if he hadn't got help & support from the right place. It's not always obvious but the two are actually a lot alike.

There were some cuts from this arc that definitely left it feeling a little lacking but tbh I actually thought My Villain Academia Arc was awesome. I did a damn good job with the Twice & Shigaraki development but wasn't great for Toga.

The inpactful part of the episode for me is how no one helped Shiggy when he was a child, alone walking the streets. The bystander effect. Imagine how things could've turned out if someone NOT all for one raised him.

Quirk awakening, an army, followers, money, fucking Machia AND the new Nomus? Damn, what a way to hit the jackpot, huh?

Entertaining arc overall. Not as impressive as many manga readers were claiming it to be but hey, it was refreshing to see more of the villain side.
Now this said, Shigaraki still looks like a clown to me but hopefully, the fact of him becoming a full lunatic will also give him some brains. As contradictory as that may sound.

Besides episode 23 definitely the best episode in this season. We got even more background of Shigaraki and what happened after what he did to his family. AFO really created a monster. Who knows what had happened if a hero found Shigaraki. Maybe the situation would be different, but that's just speculation.

The awakening moment was pretty nice. Shigaraki went bat shit crazy against Re-Destro who just lost both his foots in all of that. But now we got the needed explanation why the liberation army works together why the villains.

And with that Shigaraki has every needed resource. Gigantomachia accepted him as the successor, he got money, a giant army and the most important part, the doctor will grant him even more power.

I might repeat myself but if nothing "BIG" happened for the heroes they're fucked. It's looking bad.

Not sure about the name "The Paranormal Liberation Front" but like the doctor said at least it sounds better than "League of villains". Btw Toga with eye patch looks pretty sexy.

Only 1 remaining episode. Can't wait to see the reaction of our heroes if they hear about the current situation and what else will happen.

I think this is one of the most exciting episodes in the season. The bar is on the floor but it was a really well done episode. I loved getting to know more about Tomura. His childhood makes me somewhat sympathetic about his past. I, too, wonder what would have happened if someone reached out a hand to him back then. He seems too far gone now, though.

Is it me or did the anime skipped an important part? or maybe it was my subs... or maybe it happened later? I don't remember much but in the manga I remember that:

I don't know how i felt about it, i Guess i was expecting more but it feels most of tomuras actions we're accidental but at the same time he was happy to kill his family. Sure he hated his father and the rest of his family for letting him punish him but i don't know it's just to childish to want to destroy everything just because his dad would sent him to the corner... Heck he didnt even hit him or put him on isolation..

Also i don't belive the people not helping a lost child like come on...everyone would stop to help him. And lastly did the neighbours din't notice the house destroyed? Din't notice the family was missing? No police was sent to look that up? No heroes?.

Enjoyed killing his entire family because his dad put him in a corner a couple of times and now wants to "dEsTrOy!!!11!!" everything. Such good writing!

This is the summit of evolution for the new king of utter destruction, introducing a man with simple ambitions, yet ones that would irrefutably be rejected by society's wishes. Tomura Shigaraki himself!

Let's lay out all the positives in this ep, the main one being the powerful OST that played during Shigaraki's flashback with AFO, that bone-chilling terror soundtrack still to this day always brought out the goosebumps as they cower with fear upon hearing this wonderfully evil tune. Now, with Shigaraki's ascendance to the throne as the new leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front, he too got his very own hopefully iconic theme song. It's a twist of an already existing OST but it's made to really enhance that dominating feeling of superiority, suited for the new king himself.

Now aside from OSTs alone, the animation has its great scenes here and there, but ofc nothing too outstanding. If I were an anime-only I might be impressed witnessing the sheer destructive nature of Shigaraki's decay as he obliterates an entire city in 1 single move. But having read the manga, it's honestly quite underwhelming which brought me to the negatives...

There were several panels cut from the end of this arc, most notably the words exchanged between Shigaraki and Rikiya. I'm glad that SHigaraki's continuation of his backstory is adapted nicely, but I also dislike the fact that they cut off AFO's first words spoken to Shigaraki, how he pities his state and how it's the hero-saturated-society that brought this fate upon helpless little Shigaraki. It would've made the connection between AFO and Shigaraki more natural as opposed to just a simple crop and cut that we got in this ep. Speaking of crop and cut, I was hoping that the Paranormal Liberation Front's title intro would have some cool showcase of the lieutenants along with Shigaraki himself, but it's just a still frame as it was in the manga. Not bad, but not good either, especially for the anime. Also a little pet peeve, I hate how the Endevour's Hero Agency's arc that should come up next after this arc, has switched to before this arc.

Overall there were so many improvements to be made that I'm sure BONES would have no problem executing as their animation team is talented, if only they weren't so hellbent on producing both this 5th season and the 3rd movie at the same time!

I still love this ep for the atmosphere though, but if this was just any other ep. I would've fucking cried in agony.
