If you remember, a few chapters ago Whitebeard was asking for Squad (or Squado...not sure on the translation of his name), but the other division commanders mentioned that he was missing, according to this page. DoFlamingo could very well have controlled him, but with the way Squad was talking at the end of this chapter, I have a feeling he was acting on his own accord. Now, whether he really is a government spy or acting in his own interests, we aren't sure of that information just yet. But yeah, as radiantfire mentioned, very unexpected of that to happen. And with the sword clearly seen exiting Whitebeard's back side, he clearly was stabbed all the way. Common sense would tell us this should cripple Whitebeard at the very least, if not kill him. But it would seem anticlimactic, so I'm sure something is going to happen next chapter. At least I think so. Though if he does go down, what happens next? Who takes control? Do the pirates lose the will to fight? Or do they go berserk to avenge their fallen leader? Oda has opened soooo many more paths now. Man, so good. And lol @ Buggy and his self-promotion. It makes you wonder when this war is all said and done, if his bounty will increase tremendously because of his exposure. |

I liked ridiculous demonstration of power by those Kumas and also, Buggy's ridiculous face. That guy is simply hilarious even amidst all the stupidity. OH LAWD @ the beamspam 3. as for the twist, I'm with vin on this one that DoFlamingo was less likely involved in the shanking. and another possiblity could be a rival pirate or a Yonkou planted an agent on Whitebeard's side just for an occassion like this--utter chaos and madness to be taken advantage of to kill the man. |

| Well, that was very unexpected! Though doubts where cast a while ago when he went missing. Shocking as it is, it doesn't phase me one bit! People get stabbed all the time in One Piece, they're practically bleeding sword cushions for all i care! Will be interesting to see how The Whitebeard move from this point. Still, I doubt The Whitebeard was careless enough to let anyone to lunge at and stab him (friend/foe) so you'd have to wonder how Squardo attacked him so suddenly. Possible hints of a devil fruit in the works? I think so! At any rate things seem to have gone fubar for The Whitebeard... or maybe it's time he lived up to his name ;) |

| It was definitely Doflamingo who did it. But I'm not sure why everyone doesn't think Whitebeard is going to die... it makes perfect sense for him to- Whitebeard is the king of the previous generation of pirates, and him dying passes that responsibility on to Ace and Luffy. It's setting it up for new legends. |

| ok i think there's a third option may be squado is a spy or may be his beeing controlled by Don Flamingo. but remember we're in one piece world with devil fruit users and devil fruit wepons we don't know if that sword stabbing WB was a bad thing i think AND THIS IS FAR FETCHED We know WB is discapacitated in some way and his lungs need a tank to function. Well since he was stabbed through his chest i think squado has a healing ability or other type of DF ability that is going to allowed WB to fight at his true potential. |

| When pirates lose their fighting spirit, it's Dragon's cue to come in.... EDIT: Didn't Flamingo and Crocodile "team up" before? They're probably pulling strings and that should explain why WB got attacked by that guy. |
