Given how big of an antagonist Roswaal is, shouldn't the anime explain earlier why he wants the blood of the dragon? I mean...why does this series throw away important plot details, to explain them much, MUCH later?
Ah, that's right; I keep forgetting that Roswaal is obsessively motivated by his Tome. Actually, if you think about it, it kinda shows how he's so pathetic, that he can only rely on a freaking book to give him direction in life. Actually, is that kind of a theme in this series?: Learning to become more independent?
The anime has said explicitly several times Emilia has dependency issues on others (although I don't recall how it's demonstrated/shown; only told). Beatrice and Roswaal rely on a freaking book to give them any sense of direction in their lives.
Re: Zero is a weird series in that it loves to reitterate and explicitly mention some ideas, removing subtext (such as Roswaal explicitly pointing out that Subaru wasn't upset about him killing Ram and Garfiel, that scene could've been more subtle). But then there seems to be more subtle stuff, as
@Tebaldi told me on another thread: that Re: Zero's message is that you can't escape from your responsibilities in life, no matter what. Well, I mean, that message isn't quite delivered perfectly: Subaru quite literally escapes his mundane, real world responsibilities. Although arguably, his new responsibilities in the world of Re: Zero are much worse.
...
That's some interesting subtext. I just wish Re: Zero would trust my intelligence more with stuff like this, rather than have characters explicitly point out subtext in other areas (like constantly reiterating how Subaru and Roswaal are supposed to be similar).
I mean...why does this series throw away important plot details, to explain them much, MUCH later?
1) Well, the reason for this would be that it's not relevant at this point in time, and it builds mystery and intrigue. I get why you might feel frustrated- but that's kind of what this series is, a mystery and infodrip. For all we know, the exact reason might be spoilers for something really important. I would trust the author and hold off your judgement fully about this until it's actually explained.
Actually, is that kind of a theme in this series?: Learning to become more independent?
This is most definitely a theme of the series, even in the content that's currently being written.

2) Beatrice and Roswaal are also portrayed as dependent characters, to be fair. Emilia is dependent in the sense that for all of her life after waking up, she listened to Puck and did as he said; these are details from S1 but Puck would decide her outfit and hairstyle everyday, etc. Furthermore in this season in particular she's relied on everyone to do things for her, needing Subaru to hold her hand all night long for example for emotional comfort and getting extremely upset when Puck leaves her. Specifically, well, this is a lot of cut subtext from an episode, but essentially what happened in the "taste of death" loop was that Emilia in an unstable state after thinking that Puck and Subaru had both abandoned her - Puck wasn't coming out of the crystal and Subaru had left for the mansion, his note to her taken by Ryuzu I think so she didn't see it - she decided to spam the trial in order to become useful and make them like her more. She failed and kept spamming the trial and becoming more traumatized until she gave up on being useful and just decided to be completely dependent and take care of Subaru and listen to him, hence the kiss in the Taste of Death. The ending of this season will make clear what a kiss means to Emilia, I would rather not spoil.

Agreed.
Re: Zero's message is that you can't escape from your responsibilities in life
I would say one of the messages is moreso that you can't escape from your flaws and must overcome them if you want to achieve your goals. This is executed quite well in Season 1 and 2 in my opinion because Subaru is forced to confront his problems until he can overcome them, and so is Emilia and Garfiel in Season 2. This only continues with other characters later on as well so I find this to be more of an accurate depiction of the story.

Agreed about this in terms of the face overlay in episode 7 I think being way too obvious. The ReZero adaptation can do this sometimes which I find unfortunate; at least there is still stuff to find if you dig deeper though.
Hope this helped, again any questions are fine

I’m a stupid Re:Zero fan but I feel like Elsa should’ve avoided her death. Is it cause she can’t regenerate anymore or did she enjoy pain a lot? (YouTube comments were saying those things so I don’t know which is true.)
Her regeneration was whittled down, yes. I do also think it was kind of in slow motion for dramatic effect, the hippo was probably falling way faster than it was shown.
I'm not 100% sure about the enjoying pain thing, I can't confirm that.
