Hot take: I would rather have no season 4 than this season 4 because honestly season 3 ended so perfectly that I think this next arc could just stay in the manga as extra. What bothers me is that the substance of this season is so entertaining but it just looks like ass. I don’t think it’s mappas fault but i still think mappa does certain things bad across all their adaptations. Anyway as an attack on titan fan i think it’s okay to be mad because what could have been, could have been so awesome but no we got Berzerk 2016. I feel sorry for the people who work on this show because i imagine they would’ve wanted it to look as beautiful as possible but it was just a very bad timing. If i had known the show would’ve looked this bad i would happily wait 3-5 years. oh yh and levi and mikasa look like ass.

Yes I don't like it as much as the previous seasons but it would still be a better audio visual experience than manga for me.

Subjectivity is a joke on MAL. If you implicitly bring in subjectivity in your counter argument, you've already lost the debate. Also this website is a fankid infestation , have pity on those kids by ignoring there quotes as they have absolutely no clue what exactly is going on.

I haven’t watched the episode yet, does it really look that bad? Like I legit didn’t care about the CG in the first episode either, or CG in general as long as it’s pretty decent and above average CG. Just want music and the feel to be good. So, how was it? I want an opinion from someone who actually seriously watched it, not just someone who’s been hating on it all this time.

I watched the episode in 1080p literally watching out for the CGI, and I can say with great certainty, the episode is fine. It's not as pretty as wit did some of the combat, but I can say that the story is still very good, and the all-around presentation was well done. Comparing it to berserk 2016 really solidifies the all-around opinion that aot fans are huge fucking babies. Get over yourself, the episode was fine. Don't watch it and cover your eyes if it gives you such conniptions.

Tbh, I'm completely fine with MAPPA's work. They also had very little time to make this season, so the use of CG doesn't really surprise me. But if you think about what could have been, e.g. you wait 2-3 more years and let Wit do the work, we probably wouldn't be talking about those scenes now, and we also wouldn't discuss if it was bad or not, cause it definitely would've been amazing. So I absouletly get your point, I probably would've waited 2-3 years for higher quality animation, but since we can't change it, we just should be happy about what we've got. In the end, it doesn't make a difference if we're happy about the situation or not, cause we can't change it anyway.

In all honesty, I don't really mind the CGI but I will admit that there's a lot of it in this episode. I think the reason why there's a lot of CGI is because Mappa has a lot of projects on their hands, so animating some parts will be taxing on the animators. I know Mappa wants to leave a mark on the anime studio scene by taking on big projects, but I think the staff might burnout if pushed anymore. Mappa is animating Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan Season 4, all really big anime and two of them are currently running. So I think that's the reason why the Titans and in most cases the people are CGI, but Mappa is trying their best at blending it in so as to make it seem natural. Maybe if Ufotable, helps in the CGI department or Studio Orange, the CGI and the blending of said CGI might get better.

But really that's just my opinion.

mostly the CG was good but some shots were clunky. Cg was used in scouts scenes as well the same way it was used in demon slayer only from far away so it cannot be easily separated and when it was used it was used very well in some scouts scenes. All and all pretty good in my opinion

Im really enjoying it, and really liked ep 6. CGI doesn't look bad IMO, I prefer 2d (duh) but I loved it.
