| Right around when the dub came out, I caved in and started Madoka Magica because I kept seeing it on Tumblr.... Except I hated the dub, so I just ended up watching the sub and fell in love with it. I know I watched it somewhere between Feb and April of 2012, because the dub came out in Feb and I went to an anime con in April and bought Madoka merch there. |

| Way back when I first got into the fantastical world of weebs and all that jazz, I was super into a little series from Jump called Naruto. Naruto basically got me into reading all the stuff Jump was releasing in their magazine for a while. I would read at least the first few chapters, and that's when I came across My Hero Academia. Now, I still love Naruto to death don't get me wrong. It will always hold a special place in my heart as like, the shounen that got me into shounen but, that aside, My Hero managed to essentially combine everything I loved about western superheroes from childhood and bring in those new aspects I was really starting to fall in love with about anime and manga. Now there is for sure some bias because I got to see the community grow so much (for better or worse), we're talking like before we even knew we were getting the anime. I'll never forget how excited I was the day I found out season 1 was happening. I'm not going to act like My Hero Academia is a perfect series by any means or that everyone should fall in love with it like I did, but I do definitely think it's a series that means a lot to me and that I enjoy the most. I don't ever want to discredit what the series has done for me and how much I have loved reading and watching it as it's unfolded, so for all those reasons, it is still by far my favorite. |

Like the pattern is - watching some stuff and telling to yourself "Wow, that was kind different also more fun.". It never went like for the OP. |

| funnily enough, even though fullmetal alchemist has always been popular, i didn't get into it until i was 12 and on a manga pirating site, i forgot what site it was chances are it's probably gone now, but it had a random button and so i was having fun just looking at all the different manga and somehow fullmetal alchemist was one of the first i came across and since then my reputation as a fullmetal fanboy began. most of the others i found from clips on youtube with the exception of NHK, which i found because one of my favorite electronic artists (goreshit) samples the second credits song from it. i instantly fell in love with he song and the show hit me as well |

| I am gonna go with the anime that got me into anime Kill la Kill (which is one of my favorite anime) because I legit can't remember how I discovered Code Geass my actual favorite anime. So how I found KLK was I used to be heavily into Transformers (bare with it this is gonna make sense later on in the story XD) and I would always look up reviews of Transformers figures on Youtube because I used to collect them myself and this one reviewer I watched (can't remember his name) one day instead of reviewing a Transformer figure he reviewed a figure of Ryuko from KLK and he left a link to watch the show in the description of his video and I just decided to watch it because I wanted to know why this girl is in this crazy looking outfit that covers borderline no skin. So I watched it and thought it was amazing and the rest is history. So if you are reading this Transformers reviewer guy whos name I can't remember for whatever reason. Thanks for turning me into the degenerate weeb I am today. |

| There was this one time I was really sick for a whole week++, and it was also Easter vacation so we went to our cabin in the mountains with no internet connection (Got sick the first day we were there, wouldn't have went up if I was sick). So I had to download an anime, but I didn't know which to watch. Just wanted a long one that I could watch for the whole week. So I stumbled across an anime a friend had recommended to me a while ago, that Anime being Hunter x Hunter. So before we went on our vacation I spent some hours downloading all the episodes of HxH and after that I was ready to leave. So for that whole week, the only thing I did for the most part was watch Hunter x Hunter while eating my Easter candy and sometimes play some video games on the side. But since I was really sick I had to take some breaks here and there. So here is my story on how I found my favorite Anime xd |
| I'm a big fan of fighting games. One day, I found an arcade game called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It was made by Capcom and looked kind of cool so I tried it. I didn't like it much back then, but it grew on me over time. Then, I found out it was based on a manga/anime, so I decided to check it out. I watch anime by release order, so I went with the 90s/2000s OVA first. I really liked the art style, the dark tone and atmosphere it had, the horror elements, and the eerie soundtrack. Even though it was short and not all the characters from the game appeared in it, I liked it a lot. The modern adaptation, which I watched later, is arguably better in a lot of ways, but the OVA just felt very unique and enjoyable. Another favorite of mine is the original Yu-Gi-Oh! from 1998. Not the one that many watched on TV, but the one that came before it, which was never released in the west. I was aware of YGO for a long time, but I was under the impression that it was a show about card games and nothing else, and I wasn't interested in that. However, I found this clip on YouTube, which really piqued my interest: After that I watched the show and it was very fun. I liked the variety of games that were played, and Yami Yugi was simply a cool character. The card game was there, but I didn't mind it once in a while, as there were other things to enjoy. It's kind of sad to see that the series devolved into a show about card games only, but the original is still a fun show on its own right. Those aren't my absolute favorites, but they're the ones with the more unique stories about how I found them. |
