| Bakemonogatari and Kare Kano are the best I've seen from the genre. I've seen plenty of others that are pretty great too though and can recommend more if needed. |

| One of my all time favorites which I feel is underappreciated is Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, it's heavy on the drama and the ending isn't the best, but I loved the characters and I highly recommend it. It's a bit older, though. I'd say a must see is the Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! series if you haven't seen it, though. |

| The most enjoyable romances are ones where pure character chemistry drives a relationship (e.g. Steins;Gate). Sometimes these sorts of anime don’t even qualify for a ‘romance’ tag (e.g. Haruhi Suzumiya), which in my opinion is even more impressive. |

| There are a ton of anime tagged as romance that I love like Inuyasha, Monogatari, Cardcaptor Sakura, Rose of Versailles, Fruits Basket etc...but if I think about the anime I love most for it's romance, it would probably be Given. Episode 9 of that show is a romantic masterpiece, I watch THAT scene (you know which one) frequently. |

| Yagate Kimi ni Naru. Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl and Strawberry Panic Those are imo very well written Yuri's Great characters plot music and everything else work, and I think those Yuri romances are the best  |

| with romance really as the main focus & the couples get together fairly early on - sukitte ii na yo, tsuki ga kirei, 3d kanojo (2 seasons), golden time (i didn't like this one & it was pretty flawed, but the main couple's relationship develops pretty realistically) romance as a theme but really it focuses on characters' self-development - ao haru ride, given (this is shounen-ai, but it's not your typical BL series & the sound direction is top-notch), honey & clover (a lot of unrequited love, main focus is character development, simply my favourite, it's very moving & takemoto is a great MC with heartfelt monologues) romcoms - maid sama!, wotakoi, servant x service, i believe someone mentioned tsurezure children (12 mins per episode yet has some of the best development ever) |

| Depends on what kind of romance you want to watch. Shonen-ai: I would recommend doukyuusei. I haven't watch anything better. Shoujo-ai: Aoi Hana, sasameki koto (most of the others are fan service or I haven't watched them. I know maria sama ga mitteru isn't for everyone so you could try that too) And anything else: Oregairu, lovely complex, karekano, honey and clover, gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun, oremonogatari... |
