Well...Captain Burns is on another level. Still wondering if he's a good guy or a bad guy. Seeing what actually happened 12 years ago was sad, imo. Wonder if we get to see more of Joker and how he and Litch know each other in season 2. Also, learning that Shinra's mum could be alive shocked me the most ~ hopefully we get to find out in season 2. Can't wait.

Glad that Shinra is all well...BUT MAN, the truth of 12 years ago brings full-on anger and fury from Leonard Burns to him. Not to mention the amount of sasuga animation that proves it all.

The truth in light, is what Shinra thought it'd be, but it could not be this devastating. His mum converted into an Inferno, the devil which held his memories clear, with Captain Burns arriving one step too late towards Haumea and Charon, the Evangelist's right-hand men.

Knowing full well of the danger against Sho and Shinra, it was Burns' tactic of deceit to avoid having to face the truth again from the grown-up Shinra all those years later.

The only cat in the bag left undiscovered is Company 4, and the cliffhanger for Season 2 in Summer 2020. Didn't expect this great of an ending, now I'm gonna wait in expectation.

Somehow this was overhyped before airing and somehow got plastered in the ratings midway through. I still can’t figure out why. It’s a very rich, creative premise that unfolds its extensive world building very naturally; the secondary characters all have unique and relative no cliched personalities and history; we have a flawed protagonist who improves his abilities but doesn’t become too overpowered too quickly; the actually direction was done very well, same with character design, sound, and overall art; and the balance of humor is done very well. In short, it has all the qualities that most seasonal anime are missing these days while also not trying to posit itself as a critical darling either. My one worry is that they were going to try to wrap it up in these 24 episodes, which would have cheated a lot of characters out of necessary development, but a second season eases that. I think my only complaint would be that this feels more like a Season 1 Part A than a complete season, in that the story isn’t really self contained, just cut in half. I understand studios need a break, but honestly, there is too much of this split cour nonsense going on. A work (or whatever a studio chooses to air in one run) should still have a self-contained story and natural end point that doesn’t make you feel like someone stole your book halfway through. At least in EES’s case, their everyday hijinks and character development still made it worth the ride, even if it felt like the brakes were slammed on pretty fast. It looks like this is going to join the ranks of SAO in shows that are “popular to hate.”

The reveals in this episode were a bit obvious... so much so, that I didn’t even realize that identity of Shinra’s mom as the devil infernal was meant to be a surprise. After seeing it happen to other characters, I kind of assumed it was a forgone conclusion. It will be interesting to see what a 12 year old infernal has been doing all this time. There’s a lot of questions to be answered, so hopefully Season 2 doesn’t drop the ball.

I really liked this show. Awesome action, solid characters, mysterious story, and a controversial but interesting direction. I wasn't head over heels for everything of this show, but what it presented I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a good shounen.

8/10 for me.

From Dragon Ball, to Naruto, to Hunter X Hunter. What you want a full list of main characters that want to play the role of a world reknown hero? just look for most popular Battle shonens on google.

Goku doesnt want to be a hero.
Gon doesnt want to be a hero.
Naruto wants to be hokage to be recognized , he never talked about hero stuff.

If you mean that the MCs become heroic figures... well that's pretty much a good portion of stories since the epic of Gilgamesh...

Duh, you're just too dumb to read between lines. Neither of them had to to verbalize they wanted to be a hero,k but they obviosly had to play the role of one to make their dreams come true. I think show don't tell would be too hard for someone like you to grasp.

You're just paraphrasing to make FF look different in a lineup with the same dumb stereotypes of battle shonen. A particular shade of blue is still blue.

The Evangelist will be tough to fight against. Aside from the information dump, it was an average ending, it seems that another goal has been set by Shinra, which is curting his mother back3 Sho might have an idea where she is, although, I think it's probably going o be too late anyway.

Animation for the Shinra Burns fight was dope. Glad to hear the story of what happened 12 years ago. Haumea is a b**** but would be a great antagonist in season 2 if they lift her up more. Overall good anime. Started off a bit slow but picked up nicely around ep 8/9 and had a strong finish once Shinra met Shou, which I really enjoyed.

Somehow I enjoyed this show, the storyline is kinda generic and everything else about the show is kinda meh but I still liked it. Enough fun action and sakuga to still enjoy my time with the show and to look forward to the next season. All in all I enjoyed my time with this show despite its downsides so yeah pretty fun show

6/10 for me, I loved the OP and ED songs, they were fire. The animation was the best thing but for some reason, I enjoyed the story and the jokes more in the manga and I think the manga is pretty average for a shounen. Lots of jokes fell flat and were delivered better in the manga. I'm still going to watch the second season to see if it'll have any improvement.

The first half of this episode was really interesting, and should have been how this season ended. I could have done without the party. While it was fun to see everyone relaxing, all that really happened was the same four jokes we've gotten for 24 episodes got recycled once again. They get old after a while. Regardless, this was an enjoyable watch for most of its runtime. It certainly had its highs and lows, but between the great animation and Arthur, this isn't something I regret watching. 7/10.

Burns is the type of guy you don't want to mess with in a bar fight.

Nice to see Shinra having the strength and resolve to land a scratch.

The backstory of the fire 12 years ago was tragic. How dare Haumea start this mess?

I can't believe that Shinra made this face.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

.

So either you're telling me that their dreams require to play the role of a hero/is inherently linked with becoiming a hero.
- In this case that's wrong. To find your father you dont need to become a hero.
To become stronger has nothing to do with becoming a hero.

Or you're telling me that along the way circumstances made them assume the role of a heros.
- in that case... why the hell did you talk about premises? The heroic role is not even in the premise of many action shonen as showed by the two examples above (heck, Gon doesnt even do really heroic deeds until Kimera ants).
And are you really saying that in the genre "boy overcomes obstacles with sheer determination , helping people he met during his quest and grows up along the way" it's unoriginal that he.... helps people?...

This anime was exceptional in the directing, art and the animation -shinra vs sho fighting animation <3 - and that what kept me watching it till the end. As for story-wise, wasn't really fan and i didn't see much depth in it! and if not for the directing and the art, this anime would have been dropped after the 3rd episode! hyped for the 2nd season!

Great episode! Glad we finally got to know the whole backstory about what happened that night in that house.
So it was Sho who unfortunately started the fire, and his mom managed to fight the demon's will and probably survived?

That ending was amazing, what a way to kill the heavy air xD

Great anime! Glad i watched it.

To be honest i cannot blame you for figuring out the way they directed this was super easy to figure out.

If you were reading the manga you would definetely be surprised as the way the author showed it was not easy to came to this conclusion in comparison to the way
the anime adapt it.

Ehh. Typical shonen with the same old story beats(brother is actually still alive AND he's the villain!), lame comedy, and awkward fanservice scenes, as far as Tamaki is concerned. Seriously. We understood everything Tamaki had to offer as a character after the 15 times her "power" was shown off. Show was elevated by its high quality production and gorgeous fight scenes, which it honestly didn't deserve. Cool OPs too.

Not really looking forward to the 2nd season, but there better be more Hibana and Maki.

Fcuk, i thought this series is gonna be lame and what not but damn it was hella fun to watch. And the fighting scene between Shinra and SHo was off the chart, literally the on of the best fight scenes i've ever seen in recent years.

I kinda guessed it, Shinra's mom was the demon i mean it's pretty obvious right ?

Love the vibes within the group, kind reminds me of Fairytail a little bit.

This series was a very enjoyable ride. Am surprised by the amount of disagreeing opinions & low comment numbers.

Is the first opening song's animation a tell tell of what next season will be like? As I got closer to the last episodes my expectations grew thinking they would finally fight the gigantic Infernal shown on the OP but it never happened. The earthquakes in particular made me imagine one had shown up or was about to. Considering Evangelist's objective I could imagine a bunch of Infernals appearing all through the city at once like an apocalypse the way it gets shown.

I actually came here to investigate for some answers, but I'm guessing that's just gonna have to be a manga/future-anime reveal.

I was mainly curious to know if the mother kept her conscience even though she turned infernal, how, and why.

The episode was ok and I’m finally done with this. Burns was like “I’m gonna tell you the truth”, then “You need to fight for the truth” and then “I’m gonna tell you the truth”, like wtf man, just spill it. Haumea was an strange girl. The fight was fucking awesome, the only thing this anime did well, unfortunately, it’s not enough to save it. I got no interest to know more, so season 2 is dead for me.

Yeah, same feeling here. Fire Force definitely does not worth it, and I get the feeling that the problem lies in the manga.

Great art, great animation, Maki best gurl, the ED1 is one of the best endings I've seen lately in animes.
But the story sucks. It's the piece of garbage served to the average teenagers because they expect them to be dumb enough to enjoy it. If you could argue that the setting is original, the rest sucks : you get the usual crazy church guys, MC's team is like the whistle blower of the organisation, the brother/main relative of the MC being a powerful bad guy, the feeling that the top of the nice guys are in a conspiracy, blablabla...

Did you see Owari no Seraph ? Because it's almost the same situation : the art, animation, settings are original, but the story is garbage. Most interesting is that both stories have the same structure : the MC has this special ability, his closest relative is discovered to be one of the top bad guys, the team the MC is in is also special and the top management is suspected to be in conspiracies.

I hate this kind of animes that take us for idiots and just want to sell their products. They are nice looking but empty shells, you gain nothing by watching these.

The art & animation was what got me into this anime. The story that takes viewers/readers for dumb simpletons will save me from watching the S2.

Well this one was kind of hard to get all the way through at times during some episodes. I'm a fan of Soul Eater and I like how this author has some quirky characters that's also pretty badass compared to average shounen but the execution of themes and power lore was bad for Fire Force anime adaptation so far, left a lot to be desired.

Before watching this and seeing the ads I figure Maki would have more of a role, while she had some good scenes she was pretty much not that important of a character in the grand scheme of things this season. Still one of my favorites.

Tamaki reminded me too much of Blair's fanservice antics but done wrong.

Arthur seems to be further progressing the author's love for Excalibur/King Arthur theme from Soul Eater so he was a cool character whenever he remembered he was actually a good fighter, lol.

Captain Obi was awesome being a powerless fighter, was expecting him to die in typical Aniki fashion, glad that didn't happen (yet). Him and Hinawa made a good "Mom and Dad" role of Squad 8.

Hibana could carry the whole "fanservice" role herself, the way Shinra beat her was wack but she still more interesting to watch play out than Tamaki. Iris is pretty dull too outside of that moment she beat the assassin guy to death with a pipe. Latom.

Benimaru...I still don't really get what exactly his powers is but for a "this guy is the strongest" type character he is pretty cool having that shoujo bishounen side kick in so he isn't completely one note.

Joker is cool from the little moments I saw but way too little info. Shinra is a meh protag ("Too much HERO shouting) but the smile gimmick is oddly interesting.

Still gonna give this series another shot with Season 2. Soul Eater wasn't exactly perfect either and didn't hit much of its high points until later on so still giving Fire Force a chance.

Okay. Now the objective of their kinda changed so massed with the revelations from Burns. Its time to go to Hell! Lets get burned, then, Shinra!

Such a shame, while i needed Tamaki fanservices in the end, i don't get it. You must be kidding me, eh? Also, where the fuck was Lisa? Ah, okay. Its understandable. We need more season to be fully prepared to the worst scenario. Atleast, they had fun in the end. Great party, there.

So, with the scores? Fuck with scores. I loved this series. No need much explanations to loved the series. So 10/10 for me no matter what....

Sorry i was lying. Despite had so much force fully joke aside, put adisrespect matter to Tamaki, a weak opening sequences in the second cour, a wacky attempt for the story telling sake, and makes no senses with some detailed railing on almost every episode, i gave the show a minus two. So, a 8/10 scores must be enough to show my respect manner to the special fire forces to risked their fiction life on to this generic Shounen show. A well balanced scored for the series Introduction. Its pretty generous, right? So, thats it, then.

Time for me to go to the third cour!
