Hello! Today, I wish to ask you a question.
Do you affection a person based on trivial traits? And if so, please do mention those traits.
By person, I meant: a character, or a person that lives or lived.
By a trivial trait, I meant: the personality, or perhaps a fact, an appreciation...

For instance, René Descartes, French philosopher (it's already worthy of praise to me), fell in love with a girl in childhood, and later in his life, loved females with a visual defect the first girl possessed. What I like less is that he used this example to say he corrected his taste. I mean, I love girls with glasses, so visual defects are my friends...

Or, for a character, it can be a simple fact that increases your love for them. For instance, Sherlock Holmes playing violin, or Nishiniko Maki (loving Nico!) playing piano, or even Endro!~'s main antagonist composing poems.

For a person, someone who's good at singing or can play sports

Characters, then
Joestar Joseph, being able to predict the enemy's speech
Sasuke having 1 hand was a badass move by Kishimoto imo
Sesshomaru hates the humans for being weak, but seemingly loves and protects a human child, because she's weak.

Usually when a word ends with -tion it's not a verb (with some exceptions like sanction).

Well I don't know if it's trivial but something that makes me feel more affection for a character is if they're not very well-off financially. Not in like living in the streets kind of way but having to live more frugally way, like the Kawamoto household. It's only a small detail but makes me feel more sympathy towards them. Hina's worries about the cost of going to a private school and her grandpa's reassurance is such a heartfelt scene.

In real life, it's always people who're easy to talk to. I've met plenty of women in real life who I thought were gorgeous but in an actual social situation we just have nothing to talk about together.

I think if I were to translate this to fictional characters, it's be characters that are energetic and chatty. Like, the genki girl or manic pixie dream girl tropes, but toned down a bit so as to still be relatable.

Bearded jawlines, now that has a rendering power for me! And yes, confidence sure feels great. Or rather, it's better than a walking wilting plant complaining about self-esteem all the fucking time. Unsure jawlines struck me while watching anime, though...

@Orhunaa
I can definitely get where you are coming from. Myself, I tend to empathise better with people in a situation of poverty they do not truly deserve, if deserving means anything.
Also, people managing a poor household are the kind of people forced to become adult earlier than they should. And mature, reliable characters are definitely strong in their way... Rather, it's the mind it forges to manage a household young, one of pragmatism, of constructivity, that I appreciate the most.
Even in real life, I sure appreciate pragmatic people.
I'm thinking about that one girl in OreImo, Kuroneko, and that one goddess in Love Live!, Nico... Even the main girl in Footprints in the Sand, to be honest.

@Rowan_F
True, energetic people are fun. Though, I'm not sure if in real life I'd appreciate someone too much energetic. Well, I tend to have my own frenzy times, and I'm sure there would be more compatibility between me and a calmer person, that both me and a person being excited all the time... But they do bring their share of surprises, and can be the sunshine of your day. Chika from Love Live! Sunshine fits such a picture, to me. And Odagiri Futaba, in Sansha Sanyou.

@Orhunaa That's a good way to put it. Those that didn't have any say on the matter due to being dependant on their families and had to mature early to stand on their own feet are really admirable. But it's also sad as they have to bear the burdens of adulthood earlier than they deserve. Oh and I'm only realizing now that I went on and on about a show I didn't name in my previous post. That was silly of me. It was 3-gatsu no Lion.

As long as they have a tail, pointy ears, and at least two boobs.

Four boobs or get the fuck out? No, I can understand the fun it is to play with a tail or to pat a cat's ears. The elation as you ascend their neck. The exhilaration in their purrs.

No more than four. Speaking of purrs...

I got separated from my best childhood friend who was a really short,short haired girl with glasses who loved dogs and chocolate ice cream. And now many years later,I found myself liking people who have those traits. It's maybe just 'cause I'm a sentimental potato but eh.

Also,people who are not faking it. I've met so many people (who I personally know as my fellow colleagues) who say "omg I'm like so anxious I'm shaking I'm gonna fail,embarrass myself etc." and seconds later they're out there radiating confidence like nothing happened.

So all my life the men who have fallen in love with me have been musicians -- or, wannabe musicians. vocalists, to be more precise. because of this I've convinced myself that I now understand the basic psychological dynamics of guys who fit the "frontman" personality in bands.

So based on that knowledge, i've now been wondering, maybe bassits are the guys to date. or maybe drummers. it's surely not the self-involved frontmen.

lol wait what was the question

Oh, wait. I know. Guys who are good at math.

To this day, I am completely enthralled by well-endowed women with an otherwise normal body type.

It's completely irrelevant to what I look for in a girl, but I will unconsciously not even consider women as dating potential unless they have that trait.
☕ Truth be told, I'm quite proud of my house blend. To attain my flavor and fragrance, I use five different types of coffee beans. ☕

You should have defined affection as well. It's not used as a verb in English. You could be asking anything from What traits do you admire in people? to What traits do you find sexually arousing?. I couldn't cover that breadth in anything short of an essay.
