So, we still don't know his name. I feel that this is something that will be glanced over very briefly, so much so that we might miss it entirely.

But its good to see that unwavering confidence in Ciel* (the one we know, not the real one) from an early age.

I’m personally starting to think that we may not even get the name or that if we do it will be from like undertaker or the present time real ciel and our ciel will basically reject it outright. And personally I’m ok with either of those becuase he will always be ciel to me

Is it me or was this chapter super short? I also REALLY thought we were going to get his name in that panel! Disappointed :-(

The drawings are getting too good! I am loving how the author is explaining everything. Fan theorists got almost everything right, yet it is still entertaining!

I have to admit, I was kinda disappointed. I kinda hoped the flashback would end and we would return to the story. I do like the flashback since we get to see how R!Ciel and O!Ciel interacted before everything downhill (let's admit, they're adorable), but I want to return to the present to see how they'll act now. O!Ciel has definitely become more confident, but is he as confident as his brother? Will he return to his normal, worried self?

I really curious to see the new dynamic between the two and was hoping that this chapter would see a return to the present. This one was too short and could have been the transition back to the present. I think chapter 140 will round off the flashback and we'll return to the present. That will make everything fit nicely when they put the chapters into the volumes.

seemed like a pretty short chapter! that's why its so sad that this is a monthly series T^T
it was pretty messed up that they had to take the ring out of the dead Ciel's stomach... but now our Ciel is resigned to the contract and is becoming more like the one we know in the current story.
I feel like I've been saying this for the last few chapters, but I think NOW we are done with this flashback. Of course, I could be wrong again lol

So another flashback chapter & it was quite short too!

I feel like at this point we won’t get to know OC real name and poor him, you could see how hard it is for him that he has live as Rciel + removing the ring out of his twin’s body ;;

I predict that next chapter maybe we will get another flashback and then get back to the present.

I think we'll have to learn his real name at some point, simply because it'll be difficult to have two characters with the same name. I can just think about the confusion that it'll cause the servants.

Matter of fact, I hope we learn his O!Ciel's real name after the flashback has ended, just so we can have a moment where the servants get confused about which Ciel they're talking about.

What if RCiel was the one who killed his father and mother because he discovered they wanted OCiel to became the Earl instead of him? I mean, there is a lot we didn't get to see in the flashbacks chapters from the perspective of RCiel. Also, who tied up the dog? And WHO killed the dog? Whoever he was, he was nowhere to be found after OCiel found the corpses.

Vicent also was kind of weird about his feelings towards RCiel (when he compared sheeps to people) and OCiel. It seems too that RCiel is obsses to protect his little brother, as if he felt superior to him. Maybe OCiel love him so much he couldn't see behind his dark side.

Just some thoughts. What do you guys think???

I was impressed by how fast Ciel accepted the fact that he just bargained with his soul, you can definitely see the beginnings of who he ultimately becomes. I also enjoyed Sebastian's moments of wide-eyed surprise at Ciel’s reactions. And FuMomo-kun is right, the art has been phenomenal lately, I’ve always loved the bubbles used for Sebastian when he’s in his demon form. It seems like the cover might have confirmed what I’ve always suspected, Sebastian doesn’t have a true form, he can become anything. I would love to see the flashback chapters animated but due to their darker nature, it seems unlikely.

Meh, that was disappointingly short :( It was shorter than most of weekly published shounen series, sigh. With this kind of pace we'll never get the end of this flashback.

I just wanna know how the heck is RCiel still alive, when he was clearly dead in that room. Body double? Hopefully not, I mean they're twins, OCiel would definitely notice any kind of change. Some demon's work? Even if that's it, resurrection seems like going too far, even in this series...

So when does the new chapter come out? And how often do they come out? I’ve just caught up. I’ve been reading on mangapanda.. is that the best site for the newest chapters? Man I started black butler anime and got all the way to chapter 139 in 1.5 weeks and I’m obsessed... :P this is a huge plot twist... I kinda think real Ciel coming back is something to do with the undertaker (he was clearly dead earlier) we won’t find this out till later though. Sebastian might question his contract with Ciel seeing as the brother is alive but then when the find out the truth (he’s prob a zombie or something) real Ciel will have to die and we will go back to the good old story we love with the one Ciel and Sebastian and his butler.

and again we wait... this chapter was only 17 pages, but the last one was 45 so it kinda balances. i bet the next one is them burning the place or burying the real ciel and then we get back to the precent. I wonder who made the ciel doubleganger, it can't be the real ciel. or it is and it's undertaker behind this. i bet we're getting close to the end of the story.

The reason why Undertaker engaged in this whole zombie experimentation, was because he wanted to bring Real Ciel back to life. Well that's just my opinion.

There is a connection to the phantomhives, because of that locket and he does seem fond of Ciel even in the twinny flashbacks he seemed to prefer the second one, and he has always tried to keep an eye on him. so the thought crossed my mind too, but what i dont understand is why.

Bringing back his brother was what he initally wanted but couldn't have... so trying to fullfil that wish would make sense if theres a special connection between the phantomhives and the undertaker... but again it raises more questions.

Why Ciel, why not the whole family? Whats with the bloody locket, was that connection what made him fond of the phantomhives? Has he been conducting experiments since he left the reapers over 500 years prior? That was would have been before he met the ancestor right, so why did he leave the reapers?

I adore the undertaker but the more I try to figure him out, the more nuts I think he is lol.

p.s im glad its not just me who thinks Skip beat is ridiculously short... I mean blink and you miss it lol

Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for an Undertaker arc in the distant future to find the answers we seek, and yes, Skip Beat is short, which is why I've put a hold on reading it as it's barely making any real progress story wise.

They did mention that both names were 'unusual' so I think it might be similar... Though there is a part of me that thinks it would be hilarious if it turned out to be Bob or Basil or something ridiculous, granted I would then also get annoyed lol

I still have some questions though, does a soul really just disappear if it gets devoured by a demon? (In this manga specifically I mean). Will Ciel rest after he dies? His soul won't be immortal and suffer in hell for eternity? Because that's what they show us in most horror movies/novels etc..

I was always under the impression that because the souls were 'devoured' they became part of the demons life force in a way. There has been little quips about 'starving' and how it could be effecting him every now and again. So perhaps the being devoured part is the scary bit and then after that its kind of blank, or perhaps they get to witness the acts of the demon in a way?
I can't clearly remember anything being for sure, but it might have been covered in the early days or been mentioned in season 2 of the anime where things got wierd. If you find out for sure though, I'd love to know :)
