I'm late catching on to this craze but now that all the games are on the app store and well worth the money I bought them all. I'm just finishing Rise from the Ashes and intend to complete it all. But just curious at what your favorite is. Either case or game? Get me hype.

My brother and i agreed that the best Ace Attorney is the first one, since it had the most intriguing cases and story.

As for the case, my brother did not particularly pick any, but for me, it has to be the one whose culprit is on a wheelchair, where he killed the wrong person. It was sad but intriguing. Oh, and i believe that was not in the first game.
It's time to play the Game folks!

I had the most enjoyment with the second game, because I was too casul for the first game and looked up walkthroughs like a little bitch. I git gud for the second one though and enjoyed it really well. Third was flopped for me. It was just disappointing with all but 1 of it's cases (no, not the last one).

As for best case, it has to be the last one in Justice For All.

Which is the one with least amount of supernatural stuff going on? lol. Spirit of Justice was all I really needed when it came to supernatural stuff. The "last moments" gimmick was very neat, but honestly I wouldn't want more of it. That's why I wished they had localized the Great Ace Attorney games.

I'm gonna have to say that ALL the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney cases/games are the best, including the Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth ones (though, I'll say that the second one is the best because...reasons), so.

Nice OP. Rise from the Ashes is my all-time favorite case. I love some of the characters that were introduced in that case like Ema Skye and Jake Marshall.

I'd say my favorite of the series is the 3rd game: Trials and Tribulations.

My personal ranking of the games would go:

1: T&T
2: SOJ
3: PW:AA
4: DD
5: AJ:AA
6: JFA

The Miles Edgeworth spin-off games are good too and it would probably rank somewhere in the middle.

Out of the two I've completed I'd say the second one. I've heard T&T is the best one but I haven't touched the game in months because it wasn't as engaging

Most of the Ace Attorney games I've played (so all of the localized ones minus the Layton crossover) have been great. Investigations 1 and Apollo Justice were probably my least favorites but case 4 from AAI was and case 1 from AJ were both pretty good. Just be prepared for some cases in those 2 to drag on.

1-4, 1-5, and 2-4 were the cases that stood out the most. 3-5 was really good too but was a little heavy on the supernatural parts that I was kind of iffy on.

The first game was my favorite with Trials & Tribulations coming close second.JFA had an amazing final case but wasn't as good before that (the villains were mostly really good though). Dual Destinies was probably the game with the most solid cases overall but no real standouts. Simon's my second favorite prosecutor though so it evens out. SoJ wasn't bad but the the main prosecutor really got on my nerves.

TT>I2>AA>I>AJ=SJ>DD>JFA

^This is my ranking not counting the Professor Layton crossover and DGS. As for cases, the best are Rise from the ashes and Bridge to the turnabout.

Best cases in order:
1)Turnabout Goodbyes;
2)Bridge to the Turnabout ;
3)Farewell, My Turnabout (the saving grace of JFA).

I still haven't played DD, SoJ and The Great Ace Attorney.

I've played Trials & Tribulations, Dual Destinies, and both Investigations games. From them, Bridge to the Turnabout (the final case of T&T) was easily the best. Everything about that case—suspense, drama, and revelation of plot points—was executed brilliantly. A big part of what made it so good was that it centered around Godot, the most interesting character in the series. Probably the only case where I never stopped tapping the screen because it's so easy to get invested in the trial.

Good to know that the games are on the app store now. Will definitely try the titles I missed someday.

Games (haven't played 6 yet)

T&T (mainstream answer I know)
AAI 2
AA 1
DD
AAI
JFA
AJ

I can't pick cases to be honest because there were so many I like, but if I had to pick one probably The Inherited Turnabout from AAI2.
I'm too weird to live but much too rare to die.

They're honestly a steal. Only $0.99 in HD quality, other than the package of the first 3 games bundled which was $16.99 but well worth it, plays very smoothly and looks damn good for a game that's 17 years old.

Damn, missed an Ace Attorney thread by more than a week. Oh well, might as well post my list (in the spoiler is case by case).

Investigations 2 > Trials and Tribulations > Dual Destinies > Spirit of Justice > Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney > Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton > Investigations 1 > Dai Gyakuten Saiban > Justice for All > Apollo Justice

I personally think AAI2 is without a doubt the peak of the franchise (best characters, best OST, best cases, tons of references...). Trials and Tribulations is also amazing and closes the trilogy really well, both SoJ and DD are great return to forms after AJ, AA1 still holds up well enough, PLvsAA is a good enough crossover (although I don't like the whole deal with Laberynthia and it's final twist, The Golden court was a phenomenal case)...

Investigations, DGS, JFA and AJ are the bottom of the franchise I feel. AAI isn't bad by any means, but is not really that good, DGS is mostly meh, but the art direction, animations and music are top tier despiste that (Runaway room is fantastic for a trial only case really), JFA is mostly mediocre aside from the last case and AJ is the same but with the first one.

Rayfa and Athena are the best girl in the franchise. Maya has overstayed his welcome already and SoJ showed that. I feel they should just go ahead and make Phoenix the mentor figure only, but then again Apollo had a good ending to it's (really convoluted) storyline, so I don't know. I thnk is Athena's time to shine now, she didn't really had that much screentime in either DD or SoJ, but I wouldn't mind regardless, even the worst games in this series are decent.
