| This year we see a new season of Gintama is returning soon ( and rank in MAL ranking like always ) while the manga is coming to an end , Fairy Tail manga has ended already with news that the final anime season has been announced and SAO movie : Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- is out . But it puzzled me about the last two anime . Why haven't Gintama parody Fairy Tail and SAO yet? Gintama is like the king of parody of anime and games . Whether is new fresh anime or old classic anime no one is safe from the parody machine of Gintama . This year Love Live has being parodied . Sure Gintama parody Dragon Ball , One Piece , Naruto and Bleach mainly due to being Shonen Jump and anime like Ao no Exorcise and D. Gray Man have being parodied by Gintama because they are from Shueisha . But top anime like FMA has once being parodied by Gintama despite not being from the same company.  |

I'm pretty sure Japan is a little more loose on stuff like this, as such you can sometimes see parody of things from different publisher. Though perhaps they tend to stick to their own publisher a little just to be safe. | I don't know the reason, but Gintama could decide not to parody those animes because they aren't as important and influential as Dragon Ball, Bleach, One Piece, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Doraemon, Mobile Suit Gundam... Anyway, I don't have anything against Fairy Tail. |
