Many of the legal streaming websites don't work in my country and websites like Netflix only have couple of series so.. I try watching as much legal anime as I can (I own couple series too) but most of the time I have to watch illegally. Anytime there is a anime-movie in a movie theater in my country I always go to watch it even if I am not so interested in the movie, since it is pretty rare to get one. But lately there has been maybe 2-3 anime-movies a year in my country being broadcasted so the number is increasing.

Mostly legally via Crunchyroll, but since it doesn't have all titles I watch the missing ones illegally.

Mostly legally.

Streaming sites (Not the illegal ones they're garbage), buying Blu-rays, ocasionally importing Japanese Blu-rays and seeing movies at the cinema, that kinda stuff. However, thanks to Amazon and Netflix, there are certain shows I have to watch illegally now.

Still, as long I CAN watch it legally, I will. Which is about 90% of the time.

I use to watch legally but have slowly moved to illegal. Netflix has a pretty small library of shows that has gradually declined. Crunchyroll, surprisingly, was missing a lot of shows that I wanted to watch (back in 2014 mind you) and since I prefer to watch dub (I know, how could I?!), Crunchyroll didn't do much for me. I could subscribe to every streaming service available but that's just money i'd be wasting to watch one show and let the subscription sit, like Clannad on Hulu. KissAnime let's me have all the shows I want to watch in one place, in dub or sub. I'm thinking of trying Funimations streaming service but a lot of people tend to complain about them so i'm kind of at a crossroad.

I partially take back what I said two pages ago.

Typically, if it's released on DVD in North America, I'll buy it, but if it's really expensive, I've decided that I'll torrent it instead, especially stuff that gets licensed by Ponycan USA and Aniplex of America, because they charge way too much for their DVDs.

But they're not the only ones at fault. Other companies are charging up to $40+ USD for a 12 episode series, and I'm not willing to pay that much, sorry. I wouldn't pay that much for a video game in 2017 either.

I like to own my anime so I try to buy what I'm most interested in, as long as it's easily available. Otherwise, I usually stream legally.
If it's something really old, hard to find or unlicensed I'll download it, only streaming illegally as a last resort.

Only Popular shows like Naruto and Deathnote are available in my country legally, I cant even stream most shows on crunchyroll so I watch it illegaly. Though I have added funds on steam to buy anime there.

Once I get self sufficient and get outside from my country, I am going to rewatch all anime legally.

Legal throughout. Have Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu accounts. Pretty lucky to have the US selections on those services.

Also have a growing manga and BDs collection. Between everything, I probably spend the most on just Monogatari Blu-rays alone... Those prices though...

Kinda both, I do illegal streaming because I hate most my option for legal viewing, but if it's on Netflix, or YouTube I will watch it there. I also like buying anime DVDs, and VHS tapes, so if I have money I go with that option. I could get Blu-Ray, but my Ps3 controller is broken.

Don't fool us, most have seen it illegal, and isn't extrictly bad, the piracy it's in some cases "the bad necessary" and with that sure we never know or watch most of the series that we enjoy with passion, and this can evolve in you buying the real product thanks to you know with illegal terms, but if you can, you really have to consume the anime legal, help and progress the industry.

The majority of anime I watch legally. But sometimes I use kissanime or gogoanime. That's when nothing on Netflix / Crunchyroll is there. You can't expect me to buy another subscription to watch a few shows. >_<

I try to watch anime legally, but you know, no website would like to pay for streaming licenses for my region, I end up watching most anime illegally with the
extremely rare occasion of buying the DVD for a completed series.

I used to watch it illegally, now I just legally rewatched most of the shows I originally watched illegally. And I just watch any new anime I'm interested in legally. So, I guess both legal and illegal is how I watch anime.

If i wanted to show respect , which i do(anime is a beautiful peace of artwork), i would find a way to support the industry directly or to be more precise the staff directly(because the money that the staff gets is still decided by the higher ups and in reality profits go to them and then they decide the cut that the staff gets but as far as i'm aware of there is literally no way of doing that but if there was i would go out of my way to do it if i had money to spend on it but as things stand i definetly don't). Sorry but let me break it to you.. What you're doing is deluding yourself into believing that you're paying respect to somebody that will never feel that respect being shown. You're giving money off to streaming services, which are pretty much shit, that don't even provide 5% of money for a single episode of an anime and less than 1% for an entire season(12 episodes)...

So what you're saying is that you don't want to support official releases because of some random statistics that say they don't make any money off of you. But you're not going to give money to the creator either because you don't think there's any way to do that.

Dude, that is an awful way to rationalise illegally watching anime. If everyone thought like you the industry would fucking COLLAPSE. You wouldn't get any new shows, and the creators wouldn't make any money. Is that what you want?

No since most legal streaming service isn't available in my country or i don't have the payment option (credit card or international bank transfer).
I could buy original DVD/BD from amazon US/JP, but shipping cost and import fees are higher than the DVD/BD itself.

Unfortunately illegally because I'm poor and my parents won't even pay each month on Crunchyroll, for example. I read my manga legally though by buying them in the bookshop, since I don't like reading it on a technological device xD

Otherwise I'd watch anime legally because it's better than illegal (of course) and the most, to support their work. Hopefully I'll start watching legally in the following years when I get money >o<

I always download using private trackers now, because it's usually in much better quality, both audiovisually and sub-wise. A lot of streaming sites -both legal and illegal - use horrible rips and subs

I do buy manga though because reading digitally sucks balls.
