That was an insane amount of people.

Riboku is back at the capital. I'm curious if he's actually going to figure out what Ousen is trying to do.

Finally the official showdown between the 2 great general of the current China. Screw all the history spoiler or such i just want to know how they manage to read each other mind and come up with some crazy plan to live up to their title.

Also Shin's role is getting "smaller" lately lmao i wonder when will he get to the main stage again. Another thing to point out is Ousen was actually glaring at Ouki's glaive which caught my curiosity, maybe we'll get to know more flashback between him and Ouki.

Awesome color page and the little poem on top.

Its pure madness what they're doing with the poor refugees. Lol'd at the Qin HQ with nobody being able to understand what Ousen is trying to do.

Also finally Riboku is back to the capital just as the refugees were seen on the horizon, lets see his discussion with the pedo King. Pretty sure the King himself will first refuse all those refugees, and even Riboku might sacrifice them for the greater good, he already stated he's not afraid to gamble.

I'm just waiting for HOUKEN THE BUNSHIN to get summoned back and goes on a killing spree of Qin's soldiers man. Especially now when he sees Shin with Ouki's glaive he will go nuts.

You won't see Houken in this campaign. He would be out of place.

I'm confident we won't see his return before a long time.

I have the feeling Kyoukai will be in the same situation as Kyou, Houken will return suddenly one night in a few years, cross the lines of her army, looking for her "aura". He'll defeat her and harm her but Shin will arrive in a hurry and slay him in duel before he could finish Kyoukai. And that's how Shin will become known as the strongest in China.

I'm really confident about it because Kyoukai/Shin are basically a repetition of Kyou/Ouki except this time the author wants to give it a good ending.

No way he'd be out of place he's still one of Zhao's 3 Great Heavens, why would he be out of place in a war threatening his country.

I think him, Riboku and Shibashou will be keeping Zhao lines on every front they'll be sent. That's why Qin won't be able to advance and will have to rely on other schemes to finally conquer Zhao.

He's a 3 great heaven only by name. He doesn't care about Zhao.

He wanted to have his revenge against Ouki because he wasn't sure who was the strongest.

He joined the coalition merely as a tourist out of curiosity but to him they were all bugs. Duke Hyou, Shin, Yotanwa ... bugs.

There is no challenge awaiting him in the current arc. He won't come.

So you think Zhao will fall, and nobody, not even Riboku will remember or dare to say "Hey wait a second, we have this beast guy training in our woods why not call him to help?

I just don't believe it, but ok we'll see, I understand your point.

This arc is awesome. Not in the grand epic battle kind of way, I just love the tactical approach that Ousen is pushing here. It's pretty next level

Because Riboku is too smart to risk using Houken in a defensive campaign. Every campaign Houken has been involved in was offensive in nature. Houken is the type of guy to jump from the castle walls and attack a ten thousand army himself. At that point the defenders are in a lose lose situation because if they abandon the walls to help him, they lose valuable defenders advantage, and if they leave him alone there's a chance he will die and destroy the moral of the defending army.

Houken doesn't follow orders, and only listens to Riboku because Riboku promised him that he will find answers on the battlefield. Houken isn't going to listen to Riboku when he sees at least 5 promising duels in front of him. For example he listened to Riboku by abandoning the fight With Mou Bu only because he didn't think Mou Bu was worthy of his time when the bigger catch (Ouki) was right around the corner. You can bet if it was Ouki in front of him then, there would be no way Houken would have listened to Riboku in pretending to flee.

Riboku one of the smartest intellectuals of his era not knowing his own limits of influence on Houken makes no sense at all.

At this point in the ARC there's only 2 people who comes close to challenging him mountain queen and Renpa(stat wise) so it will be awhile before we see him in any serious fights for a long time. e.

Another point worthy of note is that Houken is now stronger than when he fought Ouki. Just like every qin character 'leveled' up after a major victory, so has Houken with every encounter.

That's very well said, good point.

It's always good to see Shin speaking his mind, not caring about who it is he's speaking to. Had been on a bit of a break from reading Kingdom, so I came back to reading a good 4 chapters which I was excited about. Each chapter is always epic.

He was out of place in the coliation

he's always out of place

It's just how Houken is

He's the hero Zhao deserves

but not the one it needs

He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector.

A dark knight

A plot convenience.

Looks like Ousen may be winning so far in the battle of wits against Riboku
