the websites lose their streaming rights.
the dvds/blue rays go out of production. (both in japan and other countries)
no files left online to torrent.
you didn't save it to your computer.
the only copies left are worth too much money for you...people asking for outrageous prices...or even you keep looking and can't find any online.

would you be ok with this? your favoritest anime off all time? you got to see it once, was that good enough for the rest of your life?

There is only one of my favourite anime that I've seen more than once. I would actually be more worried about not being able to recommend it to anyone anymore than I would about not being able to watch it another time myself.

I actually got to see it 5 times so yeah I'm ok with it
"I like young-girl sexual creations, Lolicon is just one hobby of my many hobbies," he says.
I ask what his wife, standing nearby, thinks of his "hobby".
"She probably thinks no problem," he replies. "Because she loves young boys sexually interacting with each other."

Sure... it did its job when I needed it most, and anything else beyond it is just revisiting for old time's sake.

So... if need be, I'll let it go, however, its memory shall remain for much longevity.

Just this once, I'll fulfill whatever your wish is.

I just don't really rewatch anime. Aikatsu and Fullmetal Alchemist both also have long anime in their franchise that I haven't touched yet (Stars and Brotherhood respectively). I prefer watching new anime over rewatching anime I've already seen, but I really like showing other people what anime I like and telling them to watch the ones I think would fit their taste. If the anime in my favourites stopped existing then I could no longer recommend them to people, which would be sad.

No. I love rewatching my favourites.
Though I guess it'd force me to watch new stuff instead, which is a good thing, I suppose

What he/she said. I don't rewatch anime at all (excluding Naruto, since it's my childhood anime), though I may be a bit sad knowing I'd never be able to go back to it.

Go to deep web and find it there. Once a file is always online it will never go away. And since deep web is a good archive, you'll almost guarantee you'll find it there. I will do anything to watch my Rabu Raibu, not some bs DMCA is going to stop me.

Sure. I've already seen the kind of classics that mere mortals would kill themselves to witness even for a second.

Mars of Destruction
Boku no Pico
Pupa
the Blame ONA
Angel Beats

Really, the list goes on and on...

If its something like the Mazinkaiser OVAs which are like my most rewatched series around, then I would be upset as well. Then again if it was one of my favorites and I would want to rewatch it but unable to after that, then I would be upset as well.

That's why I have backups ontop of backups of it.

Honestly, I haven't rewatched my favorite anime that much. I don't want my memories tarnished (yes, I must admit two of my top 10 I saw when I was eleven and will forever live in the delusion they're as awesome as I remember them).

I don't rewatch anime, I prefer to have new experiences, so I guess it wouldn't affect me too much. But it would still suck. New people couldn't experience it anymore.

Uh, guys. It's absolutely impossible to snuff out torrenting, so it's not even a subject there.

I wouldn't be okay with it, but as my most revered anime is Clannad, i've already learned the lessons and philosophies i need from it, and rewatching it is merely to feel it again and remind myself.

But again, it's like saying "what if the internet died one day?"... The internet is like mould, even if you destroy all mould growth, it'll spore somewhere else. You'd have to kill all humanity, or a CME cook the global power (which would be repaired in short order, but cause economic hell); if humanity is dead i won't be here to have an opinion on it now will i?

Well you aren't giving me much of an option here.

Thankfully I don't have a particular favourite anime, so I guess this doesn't apply to me. But if I did have one, well, it would be probably the kind that loses its value if re-watched so I guess I'm fine with just watching it once thoroughly.

Well, good things can't last forever, so I'd accept it and treasure them in my memories.. Plus it'd remove the risk of me getting sick of it if I rewatched it all the time... But I have yet to rewatch any of my fav series..

I don't get the point of this question. It is obvious I would not be okay with that. I mean why would I be okay with it if there is no benefit in being okay with it and no cost of not being okay with it.

I think it depends for me. But maybe if I somehow find an anime I like even more than the one that's my current favourite, so that new one is my favourite and all, will I be able to watch the one that was my favourite before that new one?

I rarely rewatch anime that I already completed so it wouldn't be such a big deal to me.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

I mean I've seen most of my favorites at least 3-5 times all the way through so I guess I'd get over it but still it would be a huge bummer. I was just rewatching Death Note in the background while I played Castlevania earlier today. I've probably seen it 8 times already and it still never gets old. Take that away and.....I might be forced to watch Free again :(
