I've just completed Ie Naki Ko yesterday.
It was amazing, the big positive point is the characters, and there's so many sad moments. I'm quickly becoming a big fan of Osamu Dezaki
Here's some screencaps, like I've done with Takarajima: http://imgur.com/a/24GkL

Amazing screencaps. I've been meaning to watch this series for years.

I just finished watching the Candy Candy "movie"...which isn't even a movie. Just a 24 minute 90s anime pilot that only covered 1/4th of the story! I liked it despite the utterly terrible video quality (blame Kyoko and Yumiko for their fights over royalties for that), but I really felt it could have been a LOT longer. Like, two hours longer, that way it'd be called a REAL movie!

I watched the Phoenix OVAs and I liked the Uchuu hen in particular. It was directed by Kawajiri, the guy who has like the coolest style and you can always tell because he uses a ton of blue color: http://imgur.com/a/pytBg . And I instantly recognized the legend VAs Akira Kamiya and Keiko Toda.

The Phoenix movie 2772 was pretty interesting too, because of the exceptionally fluid animation for the era. It had some really annoying Disney influenced comedy skits though. But the movie and the OVAs from the 80's have an awesome music score. Now I'm pretty interested to see what the modern adaptations are like.

I recently watched "Patlabor: The Movie." I actually saw it first when I was around 10 years old, but at that age, it didn't hold my attention. But now, being in my late 20s, I was able to fully enjoy it for what it was.

After initially dropping Gunbuster, I decided to go back and finish it, and I'm glad I did, because while I found the first 3 episodes to be weak, episodes 4-6 were a major improvement.

Earlier today, I finished watching the Ghibli movie Only Yesterday. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, and wasn't bothered by the slow pacing, but I think that's because I watched it in bite sized chunks. Very subtle and down to earth, and could relate to young!Taeko's struggles and her adult self's troubles about being true to herself and meeting society's expectations.

I've re-watched Mobile Police Patlabor.
The first thirty chapters i did not like. I was not amused. After ep 30 there is a little more history, but then return the random episodes. In addition, the end was a little rushed.

I recently finished Taiyou no Ouji: Horus no Daibouken. Pretty old classic, a movie that, in a way, would go on to make history. Probably the reason why Ghibli stands today. A movie directed by a young Isao Takahata with a young Hayao Miyazaki helping.

I thought it was extremely well done for its time. I'm not much of a fan of some elements of the movie, but it was decent, and I really appreciate it from an anime historical standpoint.

Recently finished Alps Monogatari: Watashi no Annette. At first I thought it was going to be just an "okayish" WMT series, but as most of the time for me with the WMT, ended up being really good with some really nice character development and old historical sceneries.

I have been rewatching everything from the original Lupin The Third I can get my hands on lately.I originally watch them on Toonami and later on DVD.Since I have been re-watching them over again they've really held up well over the years and for the forseeable future will be my obsession.

After that I would like to re-watch Ranma 1/2.Maybe not as old school as Lupin is,but I just really remember it fondly.I watched all of them as A kid (as far as I know) on Saturday Mornings and now I plan to rediscover them over again as An Adult.

These are both excellent Animes series that still to this day stand the test of time .

The relationship between Annette and Lucien just felt so real. A lot of mistakes can lead to end a friendship that, honestly, none of the sides really wanted to finished, and more often than not, the mistake is that, a mistake. A great story about learning to forgive and about having the courage to say things straight. Really loved it.

On a completely different note to the WMT, I just finished Macross. Maybe I should call it rewatch because I did watch a lot of the series on TV in the 90s, but I honestly remember very little and I wasn't really invested into the series.

While it might be a common opinion, I'll have to say the first 27 episodes are much better and the final arc has a lot of flaws because it really forced things open in terms of characters relationship while at the same time regressed all the progress that had been done in terms of character development. They pretty much killed a lot of great moments from episode 27, and a lot of what was done in episodes 11-27. That said, I did like the idea of doing this "epilogue" where we saw how the world kept moving after the big event.

So within the last couple of weeks I watched Gosenzosama Banbanzai! ...and it was absolutely wonderful. Sheer delight. I adored the theatre-style presentation (spotlights, soliloquies...) and the humor. The songs were enjoyable as well, and man, that ending!

I really, really want to watch more like it.

I also watched Hashire, Melos! (the film, not the OVA) which was pretty decent. It was set in ancient Greece, which is why I watched it in the first place.
Read the Baccano! LNs. If you have any questions about Baccano! (anime/manga/LNs) feel free to PM me. Or the Naritaverse in general (note: I am least knowledgeable about Drrr!!).

I am an admin of the Baccano! Wiki. The wiki also has an official Twitter where we share Baccano! news and wiki updates.

I have recently founded two wikis: one for Etsusa Bridge and one for Vamp!. I welcome all suggestions.

I'm rewatching Cat's Eye little by little. I watched it ages ago (many times) when I was a little girl and now it's been my plan B for a while if I have nothing else to watch. I'm fully enjoying it, partly because of nostalgia and partly because of their background story.

aaah same here. The last arc is almost focused on HikaruxMinmayxHayase and try to do a hard core love triangle ^^. Hikaru lost his character development, acted like a kid and Minmay a selfish teen.

The movie did better in that regard

And I agree, it's nice to see how the world have been doing since the Great war but Macross have not done it very well but it's still an enjoyable anime I just finished

And now it is Urusei Yatsura. But I still want read all manga. It's just best. Who watched it already know why. Who don't... You may or may not want to watch it, but first option is much better. Fan Live and 10th Anniversary concerts are great too. You may want to find it after anime end. I do and i did.

Recently finished watching Touch, Miyuki and Hiatari Ryoukou up to 24 episodes I could find fansubbed. I'm a big fan of romance/slice of life genre as well as old school animation styles. I wish there's a way to finish Hiatari Ryoukou short of learning Japanese. Would like to know more good recommendations for old school romance/slice of life genre. I have already seen Maison Ikkoku & currently half way through Urusei Yatsura and Ranma 1/2, though the latter 2 are more episodic comedy than serious romance.

I just completed Takahashi's Mozaika. I was genuinely surprised at how much the quality increased with each episode. I almost dropped it after episode 1, but by the final episode it had gotten great - production values increased and the final battle was incredibly visceral and exciting. It had some amazing visual world building on the whole and was pretty immersive, even if found some of the character designs overly goofy for the dark tone it was going for.

The last old school anime I've seen recently are Riding Bean, Change Getter Robo and DNA2, I really liked them even though they are not tremendous masterpieces, they have their charm and the nostalgia factor has a lot to do with why I like them so much.
