Once I saw Gintama, I can never ever again watch another series with Tomokazu Sugita in it without being reminded of Gintoki.

1. I don't think so, but (recognisable) seiyuu are often given similar roles, and as such they might get the short end of the stick when it comes to being cast as character-types that are less likeable.

2. Yes, but not solely because. It can be a good incentive though.

3. No single favourite, but Suzuoki Hirotaka, Yamadera Kouichi, Nakata Jouji, Ikeda Shuichi, and Furukawa Toshio for their fabulous voices and great roles.

4. Major seiyuu tend to have quite recognisable voices, so yes. Sometimes it can be hard to bring to mind the voice actor themself instead of some other voiced character.

5. When popular seiyuu get unusual roles they definitely surprise with their vocal range.

-Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?
Yes, I like Akira Ishida's voice so I was categorically attracted to Nagisa Kaworu and Katsura Kotarou.

-Who is your favorite seiyuu and why?
Akira Ishida simply because his voice is unique and distinct, plus he uses it in quite an over-the-top but not annoying way. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu certainly shows what he's capable of doing.

-Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?
Most of the time, yes, but sometimes I look it up afterwards and it surprises me.

Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?
No, except for Rie Kugimiya. Kagura is probably the only character voiced by her that I can stand.

Do you ever started watching an anime because of a seiyuu?
I used to do that, but not anymore, after sitting through some godawful shows.

Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?
A lot of notable female ones anyway.

Have you ever gotten surprised when looking up a character's seiyuu and finding out you have already seen him/her in other anime?
Happened with Kana Hanazawa while watching Binbougami Ga. Her voice acting for Ichiko was so different from the voice she uses for her usual soft spoken, cute and shy characters that I didn't recognize her.
Same goes for Saori Hayami's Musubi from Sekirei.

1. Never, I just get excited when I recognize them and happen to like other characters they did in the past.

2. Nope, it's far from being enough to sell an anime to me.

3. Hanazawa Kana, not only do I love her voice, it's very easy to recognize and many characters I love are voiced by her.

4. Sometimes, and depending on how much I like them, since if I like them it's easier for me to recognize them, otherwise I don't really care.

5. Yeah, I don't really have any examples right now but there have been instances where I was quite surprised about who the voice actor was because I didn't recognize them at all, and without looking it up I'd never be able to tell either.

This is like me but for every character. If I watch NGE, it's going to be hard not to think about a certain madao.

1. I won't dislike a character based on their seiyuu, however I would have an easier time liking a character.
2. Having famous seiyuu was 30% of my reason for watching Sekko Boys.
3. My favourite is Tomokazu Sugita mainly because of his role of Gintoki. Another seiyuu of havea prefrence for is Rie Takahashi because one of her first major roles was Futaba in Sore ga Seiyuu and to see her having famous roles with Megumin and Emilia makes me happy like a proud parent.
4. All of my favourite seiyuus tend to be ones I can recognize.
5. I was surprise like many other people with Betelgeuse is also played by the person who played Kirito (Matsuoka Yoshitsugu).

As a seiyuu fanatic, I feel the need to respond to this thread right now:

-Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?
In the most of cases, yes. If one character is voiced by a seiyuu I like, there is a 99% probablity I ended liking him/her. Respecting the reverse thing, when I was younger I practically disliked all the characters of Yuuki Kaji, but after watching more animes who starred him, I ended erasing the bias I had for his voice, to the point of liking some of his characters now.

-Do you ever started watching an anime because of a seiyuu?
Yep. Especially if they are one of my favourites.

-Who is your favorite seiyuu and why?
I have a lot of favs seiyuus, to the point I made a blog listing my absolute favs.

However, if I had to choose, my favourite female seiyuu is Kana Hanazawa, because I adore practically all her roles (especially when she voices crazy, violent or hammy characters, that is a blessing from the Heavens), and my favourite male seiyuu is Junichi Suwabe, mainly for his role as Archer in Fate/Stay Night and for that characteristic, badass, cool voice he has. He is also very funny while voicing characters he usually doesn't tends to voice.

-Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?Yes, pretty much. Is hard to me to not recognize a seiyuu's voice is I have heard him/her in a lot of series.

-Have you ever gotten surprised when looking up a character's seiyuu and finding out you have already seen him/her in other anime? At the begnning, when I started watching anime, yes, now that I have more than 200 titles watched under my shoulders, not. You mustn't understimate the versatility of a seiyuu ever.

Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?
Not exactly, it's more like the other way around for me cx

Do you ever started watching an anime because of a seiyuu?
yes oops

Who is your favorite seiyuu and why?
Hanazawa Kana because her voice is pure and nice to listen to and Kamiya Hiroshi becauseofyato....

Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?
Depends on the seiyuu, but for the two mentioned above, yes. Also Rie Kugimiya's (for obvious) reasons_and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu's voice, too. For some seiyuus I can pick out their voice based on how they say certain words (I was able to tell that Miyu Irino voiced Ritsu from Mob Psycho 100 the moment he said "nii-san")

Have you ever gotten surprised when looking up a character's seiyuu and finding out you have already seen him/her in other anime?
Yes, some seiyuus have a really good range it's surprising example being Jun Fukuyama
"Why are you crying?" "Pokemon...."

Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?
Rarely ever. The only time where I would dislike a character because of the seiyuu is if the seiyuu's voice does not match the character or there are clear flaws in the seiyuu's performance. There are some seiyuus that I do like, but are sometimes given a character where their voice does not really match the role they were given.

Do you ever started watching an anime because of a seiyuu?
At first, no. But when I learned about Nana Mizuki and her performance (as well as music) in Cross Ange, I've been following her around a bit...

Who is your favorite seiyuu and why?
They're all listed on my "Favorite People" section of my profile:
- Megumi Hayashibara for her performance in Slayers, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Ranma 1/2 as well as her music.
- Mamiko Noto for the numerous leading roles she has. It's also a surprise how a seiyuu with an innocent voice like hers is cast in a lot of Ecchi anime.
- Kikuko Inoue because of her innocent and kind voice, such as her role as Belldandy in Aa! Megami-sama!, and being the "Onee-chan" of female seiyuus.
- Takehito Koyasu because he has a very distinct voice that can be heard everywhere and is able to voice just about any kind of character.
- Hikaru Midorikawa for his smooth talk and his roles as Zelgadis Greywords in Slayers and Heero Yuy in Gundam Wing as well as his role as Leon in Tales of Destiny.
- Rie Tanaka for her excellent ability to voice both sweet and innocent characters just as well as her strong and serious ones. Her role as Nyx from Queen's Blade demonstrates this ability very well. She is also the singer of my favorite insert song in anime: Gundam SEED Destiny's "Fields of Hope".
- Seki Tomokazu whom I know for his comical hot-blooded roles like Domon Kassshu from G Gundam and Stahn Aileron from Tales of Destiny.
- Nana Mizuki for her powerful singing voice and her role as Ange in Cross Ange.
- Shizuka Itou for being the seductress of seiyuus and her roles as Akeno Himejima from Highschool DxD and Luviagelita Edelfelt in the Fate series.
- And Norio Wakamoto, because he's Norio Wakamoto.

Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?
Some seiyuus like Norio Wakamoto, Takehito Koyasu, and Yui Horie can be easily identified by the tone of their voices. However, there are some that can be a little difficult to identify because they may sound like someone else. For example, I sometimes get Mamiko Noto mixed up with Saori Hayami because their voices sound alike. Also, seiyuus with wide vocal ranges can be hard to identify across different anime. Shizuka Itou is known for her seductive voice, but it can be hard to identify her if she voices a more calmer role, like Wilhelmina Carmel from Shakugan no Shana.

Have you ever gotten surprised when looking up a character's seiyuu and finding out you have already seen him/her in other anime?
Yes. This question ties in with the previous question where a seiyuu's vocal range can make him/her sound like someone completely different. One of the more surprising roles I found was Nazo Koumori (Kou-chan) in Rosario + Vampire. I had no idea who voiced the character at first. But when a certain episode came up, I was shocked to learn that it was actually Takehito Koyasu.

1. No, not really. I don't care about the voice if character is actually good.
2. Yeah! Karneval because of Miyano Mamoru haha.
3. Miyano Mamoru ^^ I love his voice a lot. I don't why but he sounds so soothingly. He voice a lot of my favourite characters and I was in shock when I noticed this fact.
4. At this time mostly yes.
5. Yeah a lot of times.

If it counts i started watching Fate/Zero due to Crispin Freeman voicing Kirei and Samurai Champloo due to Steven Blum voicing Mugen.

I can't distinguish very well japanese seiyuus (with the exception of Rie Kugimiya cuz her voice is too noticeable).

Does a seiyuu's voice predispose you to liking/hating an anime character?

I don't know if "liking" is the right word, more "noticing." Sakurai Takahiro caught my attention when he voiced the Medicine Seller in the Mononoke series. Paku Romi's voice and roles are pretty distinctive as well (Teresa in Claymore, O-Ise-san in Oh! Edo Rocket, Ragyo in Kill la Kill).

-Do you ever started watching an anime because of a seiyuu?

Sometimes. I've watched shows because they starred Sakurai or Kuwashima Houko, another favorite. She voiced Clare in Claymore, "Isako" in Dennou Coil, and Shurrei in Saiunkoku Monogatari to name just three of her dozens of roles. These days I'll take a look at most shows starring Swashiro Miyuki, who I see as the successor to Kuwashima. Both these seiyuu have remarkable range and have voiced a variety of distinctive characters.

-Who is your favorite seiyuu and why?

See above. I'd add Namikawa Daisuke, Tomokazu Seki, and Hanazawa Kana to that list.

-Are you able to recognize a seiyuu's voice throughout his/her differents anime characters?

Most of the time, though the best actors can modify their voices substantially to fit a role. I didn't recognize Tomatsu Haruka in Thunderbolt Fantasy, for instance, though I've enjoyed other performances by her, especially Aoba in Cross Game. And both Kuwashima and Sawashiro can sound like very different people in their performances. That's what makes them great.

-Have you ever gotten surprised when looking up a character's seiyuu and finding out you have already seen him/her in other anime?

Sometimes. Happens more with the men I suspect.
