I also haven't got new information regarding the next few episodes, so I'm totally blind on the titles of episode 9,10,11 The pacing is random with them as seen from my original post. Some of them are 2 chapters or even less than 1 chapter of LN. As for blazing through the material, it's just some Subaru work got montage'd instead. Probably some other omitted scenes too like they did in episode 4. But maybe they will also integrate it in episode 9 like they did with Rem's "cutting hair scene" that was omitted in episode 4 to episode 5. |

If they keep up that pace which is likely to happen then we will be done by episode 10. This would give us probably a extremely heavy episode at the start of the summer season. It's also possible that the pace slows down a bit and it goes until episode 11. Anyway it shouldn't take longer than episode 11 though :) |

The unique set of characters: Kazuma the asshole, Megumin the chuuni, Aqua the dumb goddess and Darkness the pervert themselves already attracted thousands of people. Thousands of Japanese people criticized this series (harsh reviews, dropping, most of the amazon.co.jp's rating are 2 or 3 out of 5) due to its dark sadistic nature. Not everyone is into this torture stuffs, but almost everyone are into a fun and warmhearted series like KonoSuba. Heck I even try to drop in the middle of arc 3 and the end of arc 3 is the one that pissed me the most. Sometimes I even make myself believe that arc 3 fragment chapter is the true end of Re:Zero and arc 4 never happens. |

| I can't speak for all of them, but this is my favorite LN and I already pre-orded all the Blu-rays, also hoping it gets another season after this! WHITE FOX are doing a great job. Of course there are changes (example: in episode 8, (not really a spoiler but tagged it anyway since it's outside the episode thread) ), but it's quite on point so far. I read some of the comments on Amazon and other sites, I think many of them are silly and not a good enough reason to dislike it. Re:Zero has quite the 'tenebrous' nature--but it's done so well, and not really just for the sole sake of trying to make the readers feel sick or disturb them, like many VN/LNs out there... As for Blu-ray pre-order rankings, on Getchu, it's pre-order number is 34, which is good for this season, but light-hearted things like Wagamama High Spec (haven't watch the anime, but the VN is very light-hearted; I played it), GochiUsa and KonoSuba are ranking above it on there, but until the first is released, I don't think there's much of a point in counting pre-orders. |

We're lucky that we have Kadokawa as the producer. Unlike Aniplex and King Records productions Kadokawa views Source material sales as an important income source. So even If the BD sales are just "ok " ( which I don't think will Happen ), as long as the light novel sells really good there should be a good chance to get a sequel. Besides, the story is so long, I don't think an one time advertisement is everything you can do. |

Japanese make the most hardcore stuff you would ever imagine I don't understand how they regarded this as dark and sadistic? it has some dark scenes but I think not that much and I personally think some darkness never is bad tbh, if you mean the torture scenes-2- with Subaru, well I think nothing suffice really to drop the anime unless you are really into cute things. more and more reasons that this will will net go on anymore :( Code Geass and Evangelion were very dark yet very successful LN is a shortened version of the WN. There has been a couple of significant changes and insignificant ones like reducing Subaru's eccentric stupid jokes or when Elsa cut Subaru's eyes. Arc 3 starts on volume 4, which is just 3 more chapters + epilogue. The best part of WN has got to be that girl's scenes The dark in Code Geass and Re:Zero is totally different. I wouldn't even say Code Geass as a "dark" series. Probably some part of it, but nothing as bizarre as Re:Zero's nature. Lelouch didn't really suffer physically on himself, heck he barely got hurt from all this war except the ending. However, you see Subaru got tortured and killed MULTIPLE of times. Not to mention he suffered mentally too by knowing that people that he loved kills him, etc etc. I think some people would get a little sad and feel sick about it. Someone on Amazon.co.jp even criticized Subaru's stupid actions throughout the novels that lead him to his demise. He said that he knows this setting will not work in Japan because there will be adult who will prevent him from doing stupid things. |

As soon as arc 3 starts which can be seen as the actual start of the plot/story every arc has a certain tone to it which suits each reader more or less. Personally I'm torn between 4 and 5 but I guess it's 4 so far. But I have to say arc 3 probably hit me the hardest because I wasn't prepared for it. |

It kind of broke me reading it, so I wonder what'll happen when it gets animated... 〜〜 About the few Japanese complaints: I don't really think it's because of the violence or that dark themes are disliked in general (for example, the LN 'Overlord' is quite violent, but not as many complaints about the dark nature; from what I've seen anyway), but the way the author describes things in such clear disturbing detail and how things are carried out. If you have a vivid imagination like many LN readers need to have and are not good with this kind of stuff, it can kind of make you feel disturbed, confused (emotionally) and sick I guess. I personally like it, but a faint-hearted person wouldn't be able to stomach it especially later on, while KonoSuba makes you feel happy and gives you giggles and which is why it's popular with the girls too. I've heard about many VNs not being too well-received, despite them being actually very good, because many of the readers drop them before the climax points kick in. Anyway, most of the comments on Amazon make me laugh, especially how they try to act all professional with their 'reviews'. I was reading some comments from Himawari, and some of them are pretty much on the same level of silliness, though Amazon takes the cake here. This series isn't disliked by Japanese overall though, I want to make that clear. If you have the stomach for it, you'll most likely love it, otherwise, they should stick to their KonoSuba. It's not the first time I saw a good series on there rated so low for the most ridiculous of reasons... 〜〜 Another reason the KonoSuba LNs are so popular is due to Mishima Kurone, who is well-liked as an artist and he has good taste liking silver-haired girls :) |

| @Fappa Aw, I wish we can get a second season announcement as well because you've generally made me curious about the next arcs. Too bad they won't be adapted this season. @Usuzumiiro It'll be so good if the violence and cruelty can be portrayed well in animated form. Don't know why the Japanese audience can't handle little gore or torture. If this show succeeds in conveying the raw emotions of despair, this'll be an easy 10/10 show for me and so far it's quite living up to the name. I'm generally hooked on this show so I hope everything goes well or it. |

We're lucky that we have Kadokawa as the producer. Unlike Aniplex and King Records productions Kadokawa views Source material sales as an important income source. Besides, the story is so long, I don't think an one time advertisement is everything you can do. To be fair that's standard for all adaptations since their ultimately advertisement for they source. But yeah I guess we will just wait and see. And yeah guys stopping using amazon reviews as any worthwhile metric of criticism. You will similar remarks tons of LNs popular or not. Even when their praised they that doesn't mean they aren't actually mediocre, see SAO, Mahouka etc. So they aren't worth bring up and will only skewer perceptions of the actual work. |

He said that he knows this setting will not work in Japan because there will be adult who will prevent him from doing stupid things. well the anime be able to adapt that girl's scenes on this pace, that's the question. by darkness in CG I meant how so Japanese are ok with this but feels RE is very dark? and when the hell did anime become based on logic? the anime itself is in a fictional world how could you relate it to real life!!!! Uh... you're like comparing an apple to orange. Re:Zero's dark theme revolves around the psychological, physical, mental torture of the main character Subaru. While I myself wouldn't count Code Geass as dark, because from your argument, I can say Naruto is dark because someone close to him died. From that logic too, I would call Attack on Titan as dark because lots of people died. Just because something is edgy, doesn't make it dark. Seriously, should I also call every shounen anime ever as dark because everyone dies? There are differences between psychological dark anime (Madoka, Re:Zero, Gakkougruashi, Higurashi, etc etc) with shounen anime like Code Geass, Naruto, One Piece. Hey don't get me wrong, I rated Code Geass a 10, but I wouldn't call it dark. the anime itself is in a fictional world how could you relate it to real life!!!! Wow, have you heard about people put themselves as a character in a fantasy world to enjoy the story thoroughly? Most movie or book fans do this all the time. They try to imagine the characters, the settings, the feelings of everything described in the text and the story. You literally just insulted a lot of book readers and anime watchers who believed that those media let your imagination come to life. Why did you think most games try to do first-person game play? Or most Visual Novel games have the main character voice-less? Or the fact that most people love books more than movies? It's for people to be able to put themselves in the story and become the protagonist that they can't ever be. Living different lives in a different world. Why did you think parallel world anime genre is so popular in Japan? It's because other world is more interesting than the world they're living in. |
