| Man,My chest ache a bit when I saw Naofumi's Face when he looked at that SpearA--holeguy with Intense rage. I feel bad for Naofumi being treated like S-it by everyone. Though I hope it continues that way xD Anti hero is Anti hero and anything to fuel Naofumi's hatred is awesome. Gonna start reading the novels..What a cliffhanger I can't take it anymore. |

| There's something I can predict about this Manga/Novel The Girl who betrayed Naofumi seems like she did it intentionally on Chapter 1 to Force Naofumi to become that way.She said "He might be the one" The one for what? To become the Demon lord in some Twist? I hate it when I can predict that Naofumi's Intense hatred will be all for naught because it was set up for Naofumi to be treated like S*it by that Girl to make him Strong or what ever. I liked it better when he was genuinely getting the Criminal treatment because the people are just plain Huge D*cks and not that it was predetermined from the start. |

| Life's tough on Naofumi. I'm secretly hoping that he would turn into an "anti-hero", but that won't probably happen... This chapter ended at the exciting part :( Isn't it possible for him to learn shield bashing. I'd like to see him bash the shit out of things with an offensive shield. |
| I love this manga, to death. It's perfect for me. Naofumi's hatred and anger is something I've always wanted to see done well in a manga. Usually when the characters are pushed around like that, they either cower like wimps or keep their thoughts to themselves. Seeing Naofumi actually get angry and yell at them is so satisfying. He has the right to be angry, too. He was basically sent to this world to be ridiculed. When he first arrives, he's the "weakest" hero class. Then, no one chooses to follow him. The only one who chooses to follow him afterwards steals his money, clothes, and tells everyone that he had raped her. He's labeled as a criminal and a rapist, thus shunned by basically everyone in the kingdom. Facing constant abuse, the slave he buys, Raphtalia, is really the only one who doesn't mistreat him, as well as the blacksmith. Because of Naofumi's treatment of Raphtalia, her kindness and gratefulness towards him feels genuine, and I love that. The blacksmith is a good person, too, for understanding Naofumi. Then afterwards, when the new wave of demons is over, the other heroes accuse Naofumi of doing nothing while the demons attacked. When in fact, he played one of the most important roles in the attack; defend the villagers. If that wasn't enough, they then take Naofumi's slave away, claiming that he mistreats her and that basically he's scum. They think that Raphtalia wants to be freed from Naofumi when in fact, that isn't true. Despite this, they take her away and then have the nerve to challenge him to a fight that is completely unfair. A spear knight versus a shield knight? You're challenging someone who doesn't have any actual attacking abilities to a fight for their own companion? That's horrible. And then that woman who accuses him of rape cheats and knocks him down when Naofumi actually had a chance of winning. I went on ranting... sorry about that. I'm in love with this manga and, Naofumi is such a fantastic character. He has the right to be angry and when he actually shows his hatred... and how his mood changed towards everyone after the first accusation... I loved all of it. |

| This is truly marvelous manga, I haven't felt such anxiousness waiting for next chapter since Akame ga kiru. I don't hate the spear dude to be honest, he just looks like an ignorant guy basking in the glory, showered on him, while unknowingly being manipulated from the sidelines. In fact, all those "heroes" look like that, and that mage chick seems like the main suspect of this crazy, hidden scheme. I'm sure the protagonist will live through and won't become antihero, his efforts to protect everyone despite all the filth they throw at him proves it. And slowly but surely, he's gaining allies. |

And all the villagers whom he saved were properly grateful. The ones who were acting dense were the king and his guards and assorted ruffians, but those kind of characters are supposed to be dumb. The guards are probably paid to be mean to the Shield Hero or at least acted that way to curry favor with the royal family (Dumb King and Bitch Princess). |
| And yeah, epic fight! This chapter proved one big Assumption wrong. Everyone was saying, since the first chapter, that shield wielders can't attack and they were proved wrong here! The Shield Hero managed to hit Lance Jerk with an Air Strike and later Dog Bite! So a question here to those who already advanced far in the light novels. Am I right in assuming that the Shield has the power to copy certain abilities of the monsters defeated by its wielder? That two-headed dog was defeated in a previous chapter by Shield Hero and his raccoon girl(friend?). |

It's good that you remember that but even if there is a meaning behind what she said that makes her the only one with an agenda. The others are hating him genuinely. Also even if there is a reason she does what she does it doesn't mean that the reason is noble and she isn't scum. BTW guys lots of rage here but the rage of the redrawing girl of the scanners is the biggest of all lol. I am having a lot of fun with her extra funny page. It's a fun thing they do. |
