Fuck it, I'm still going to watch it. It's Batman and Superman in the same movie, at least that's gotta count for something, right?

Its critical dissonance at it's largest indeed because fans who already seen the movie were more receptive even though they thought it's definitely not as good as The Dark Knight. Critics on the other hand kept complaining that it's "too loud", "too dark" and worst of all, "not like the Marvel movies". Fuck that, we have so many Marvel movies, I wanna watch this because it's different for heaven's sake.

I'm still going to go in with an open mind and make my own opinion. Hell, I might even enjoy it.

Expected. My instincts were correct. These superhero movies are turning into generic shounen anime meant to be seen just because of their name.
PG-13.. Cringe.

At least it isn't as bad as the new Divergent movie. A fucking 34! I'll probably see BVS anyway, and who knows? The user reviews might be good. Even if the movie sucks ass, it'll make for an entertaining movie to tear apart.

Marvel recently has turned the super hero genre of movies into one big family-friendly, toungue-in-cheek, pop-culture reference. So I'm going to laugh so hard when people walk in expecting that with this movie and the see Superman and Batman beating the shit outta each other while saying dark and edgy things and blowing up passers-by.

I lost respect for a lot of critics when they failed to call out age of ultron for the clusterfuck of lame repeat of the first movie that it was.

Not saying Supes vs batman is going to be the best thing ever but its surely just a middle of the road movie.

Disappointing, but kind of predictable. The sheer amount of major characters and plot elements in the movie does give off the expectation that it's going to be very over-crowded and disappointing, like Age of Ultron (as mentioned by Spooks) was.

Chances are that means it's great.

If criticisms of the movie is ''too serious, too dark, not marvel'' then yep I'm definitely gonna enjoy this.

I hope Marvel next line of movies fail miserably in the box office. It's about time people get tired of their formulaic movies.

I honestly thought they had a chance of pulling this off judging from that last trailer but then again it's a Zack Snyder flick. The guy has a pretty bad track record. I'm not even sure why WB brought him back after Man of Steel which was mediocre as fuck and this is getting even worse reviews than Man of Steel.

Maybe the general public will finally realize spewing out these superhero movies constantly in a planned out factory line just to expand upon the film universe to increase profits further isn't quality entertainment.

MoS is still bring the money for them(WB) and also, by his "bad" track record, I just see sucker punch as the truest failure(well beside BvS I guess), and he write it by his own..

Annndd BvS will still bring in bank. Maybe lower than predicted due to review hits, but it'll still bring in large enough profit for WB to keep rolling with a DC universe. They probably should've just let Affleck direct instead of Snyder. He's way past his prime after Watchmen. And definitely need to get rid of Goyer. He's a fucking terrible writer.

Audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes is now at 80%. But I admit it's probably because those who liked the movie are giving it higher scores to offset the negatives. However, it's the same for the viewers who didn't like the movie, that it wasn't like a Marvel movie, lol. Some even complained that there's no after-credits scene like all the Marvel movies have.

Audience score is 80%. That means: do the opposite what critics tell you! Typically such disconnect means it triggered critics in some major way, going against their worldview or manchild nerd fantasies maybe. Keep in mind these people, these critics, are paid to overanalyze things. I assume it is the story of greatest symbol of good turning evil while not understanding it self is what triggers these brainwashed liberal weasel simpletons so much. Audience doesn't give le fuck in such autistic manner, they just want a good show with friends.

To be expected. There's not a single thing in the trailers that would scream as good.
The only good thing in the trailers was Batman actually having a fighting style akin to Arkham games.Otherwise trash.

Civil War actually is planned and coherent.

BvS was just a desperate attempt at rushing to create a dc cinematic universe.

Honestly, when movies like Thor, Age of Ultron, Iron Man 2 and 3 end up with a 70%+ rating, you know critics are a joke.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Not me and I won't be able to see it until Saturday anyway. Even then, I highly doubt it's as bad as the critics say. Although yes, it looks like many critics and audience members agree the plot was kind of a mess.

Before Deadpool and Jessica Jones, Dredd which came out in 2012 was already rated-R. However, he wasn't a Marvel or DC character, so it didn't do well in the box office despite being a very good movie. Karl Urban was a fantastic Judge Dredd.

Dredd was awesome, shame it didn't do well.. would of LOVED a sequel. I did read some of the original comics when I was younger and I loved it.

I'm just saying none of his movies so far have exactly earned much praise from critics also I don't think he's yet to make anything I personally find particularly noteworthy either. There's nothing over 60 on metacritic from his filmography.

Though it's not fair to put all the blame on the director I guess. The screenplay could've been at fault or the movie could've been poorly edited. One of the critiques I came across of it was that it lacked coherency.

Actually its the opposite.

From the reviews and impressions. It basically is bunchof overtly serious fighting in grimdark places, to the point that actual fighting ends up looking corny and cheap. ITs not too slow. Its disjointed as hell. Some critics described it like a "several seasons of a tv show condensed into one movie"

Believe me when you actually WATCH IT, its far worse than that. ITs literally poorly set up clipshow episode made as a try to rush DCCU.

What you described was Watchmen - aka the only good movie Snyder ever did.
