i like reading as long as i'm not being assigned to write a paper about it right afterwards bc then i'm just too busy analyzing all the themes and character flaws

Ugh, reminds me of high school english class.

I'm sure shakespeare didn't mean to encrypt 1 thousand references of symbolism and metaphorical substance in his works.

I wonder how he would feel today about high school kids overanalyzing his plays.

shakespeare was actually the sort of guy who'd make his mom cry because of how illiterate he was. he sucked at spelling, and just made up a bunch of new words to accommodate for the fact he couldn't think of any other words.

but combine that and the fact he was very sensitive and always wondering about the meaning of life, boom. a revolutionary literary genius that dictates how literature should be nowadays )-:

You should read actual literature.

Timeless titles are very enjoyable for just about anyone. I recommend books such as Animal Farm, To Kill A Mockingbird and Catcher in the Rye. Barely anyone I know doesn't enjoy reading these.

Of course, there are way more titles than that.

I recommend the masterpiece "I Want My Hat Back"

Best book I've ever read.

That's a frikkin' masterpiece!

Other than that. OP, you've made a kitten ill with this post. Seriously, there're books for everyone. Just try to find something for yourself. Reading is good.

i also do not like fiction that much. i am annoyed by the detailed descriptions of landscapes or clothing. i often do not see the point of the story. i just stop reading it at some point. but there are so many books that even i can find ones i like. although that is too tedious to do it regulary. i read every day but the last time i read fiction was weeks ago i think. it was a song of ice and fire.

Nope, absolutely love books more than Anime & Manga most probably. I don't like novels quite as much as non-fiction though.

I love reading... I'll read anything I can get my hands on if I'm bored. Magazines in waiting rooms, bath product labels while I'm sitting on the toilet, random Wikipedia articles when I'm bored on my laptop.

My bookshelf is FULL and I even have limited edition prints of some of my favorite books. I don't want to know how much money I've spent on books lmao.

I just don't like classic literature... Huckleberry Finn made me want to drive into oncoming traffic.

I don’t like reading books also. Its just not enjoyable IMO. It’s actually hard for me to get into books. I can do manga perfectly fine but not Light Novels or novels. The only books I’ve read in the past 3-4 years is 1 volume of The 100, 1 half volume of Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria, couple pages of COTE, 1 volume of Sakura-sou and 1 volume of Toaru Index.

Nope, and books can deal with certain concepts better than any visual medium.
For example, cosmic horror as a sub-genre is done best in books, as it's an extremely hard thing to depict visually.

I most definitely agree. Our mind is just limitless when it comes to imagining that not a movie can come as close. On that note...

If its textbook about biology, mathematics, or history, its fine. as well with manga but when it comes books like hunger games or F***king cat in the F**** hat, i dont even like reading those. i dont even have any favorite book or light novels. the only light novel i read is highschool dxd. i hate reading because it doesn't have enough ecchi or describe ecchi or boobs. if i read a action genre, everything goes with one hit. there isnt any parts that describe them fighting like a jackie chan scene. i dont even think theres a exaggerated sports.

There is a literature called erotica which caters to your preferences. I don't care if you start with 50 Shades of Grey, reading is a pleasurable experience. (sexually or otherwise...) also, if you start with the worst ones, it will compel you to find the best one, thus more reading.

I love reading fiction, so I can't relate. I just don't find motivation to read books in the evening in my bed, it has to be a hot summer day and I have to be outside sitting in the garden. Then I'll read one book per day. I've collected like 30 free used books in the last couple months, I really need to get to them I haven't read in a while. But first I need to read The Hunger Games prequel, that one was an actual present. xD

I'm ok with reading if there is no audiobook equivalent.

I can relate to this a little actually, I should have mentioned Audiobooks in my post but I forgot :/
I have bad concentration/attention spans sometimes so I use Audiobooks alot too. Unfortunately they don't always have what I'm looking to read/listen :( and I usually always try to find it unabridged, but I absolutely love Audiobooks, especially if the narrator is particularly skilled at creating different voices/accents for different individuals in the work.

Nope, I loved them since I was a kid. They were the only entertainment I had when mom had to be at work and couldn't look after me. They improve your grammar, imagination, even written and spoken language and can help at school. Reading in English helped me improve my English A LOT. I can understand that it can be pointless for someone with short attention span but there is honestly nothing better than to dive into the rich world of your imagination, so much better than movies.

If it's a good book, reading is amazing. It doesn't happen often enough though.
Life can be cruel and unfair. At worst it can traumatize and cripple you. The desire for wanting things to return to the way they were can cost everything and changes nothing. The best way is to keep moving forward, struggle on.
Anger can be powerful but can only get you so far. Let people into your life even if some of them leave you in time.

Fight. Like. Hell. For everything and everyone you love. Always.
