| Okay.. so this was the hyped stuff? A cartoonishly over the top battle with a really lame villian that takes itself way too seriously, some shitty backstory for FEELS and the obligatory NANI HOW CAN THE WEAKEST DEFEAT ME; THE GENIUS asspull. And this is what makes Cavalry different from the rest? MC also gained one relationship, but I am sure there will be lots of "funny" harem and fanservice situations afterwards that will basically result in the same tired narrative. So yeah, it's a bit different but that doesn't necessarily make it better. |

| Also a little bit about Shizuku here. The reason of her love for Ikki in the first place is because of how other treat him and how he treat her. As children the only one that show human aspect to her is only Ikki. He is the only one who praise her when she did great and scold her when she make mistake. So when she learn what Ikki get through she is convinced that the only one that can understand Ikki is only herself. When she see Stella word of encouragement to Ikki she now realize that Stella know Ikki better than she is. That's why she withdraw when Stella meet Ikki and leave them alone. She feel that as long as it's someone that can understand Ikki and don't cause harm to him she will leave it in her hand. |

I understand the point Nidhoeggr tries to get into but I think he sets the bar way too high by expecting the next Pulp Fiction animated. If I rationalize every aspect of the show, I will lose interest. By looking at his comments, he's already reaching a very high level of frustration. About 90% of animes are canned shit that sells fanservice. Either you deal with it (shouganai) or find another medium of entertainment that rescue your enjoyment. That's how Anime Industry works, that's what sells in Japan. I can give just 2 or 3 animes in my mind that I think is memorable. By looking at his anime list I presume he has around late 20s or 30s years. Perfectly normal to be more critic when looking at something, but I think if you keep rationalizing every aspect of the anime you wlll end up hating everything. So the best approach would be quit watching anime and look for a very mature series. Unless you are a masochist type. |

| Nah, it only didn't occur to me before to cross-check these guys. Only now, when the show had 7 "average or worse" votes out of 200, it was quite obvious when there were 4 downvotes within a few minutes. Hilarious to check their friend-connections, and lo and behold - many other names which have _also_ proven to be whiny trolls all showed up, as well. Can't believe it took me so long to notice it. |

Obviously the show deserves a 9/10 so far and is only below the 8.00 rating because of the blind hater anime mafia that doesn't appreciate quality anime. It's all a conspiracy! | Man, stella fan service just murders me every-time more and more... Fuck I don't even know why i like her at this point, i just do. She's still getting in the way of me judging this show fair, fanservice is op sometimes. hnnggg. Perhapsthatsforthebest. ...Anyway. Uh, good episode i guess. While i can understand the complaints about him surviving that, I've seen hilariously much worse so while watching it, i just glossed over it accidentally. I'm immune to it at this point...lol And yes, the confession and scream by Stella were lovely, and I actually enjoyed the fact about her missing that he's never 'sure' of his battles. Was an interesting bit of character interactions i just glossed over, and when Stella kind of realized it I felt the same feelings as her. :/ |

| Well then. Best episode I've seen from this series so far! Those action scenes were golden! Sure hope they keep doing things like this.. That Kirihara's face when he about to lose was so priceless! (5/5) I will not compare this series with Asterisk anymore, because Rakudai is proven to be much much better than that.. forgotten series. |

| Now that was a really really good episode. I'm so glad that this ins't a harem anime. Fight was awesome, kind of wanted him to almost kill Kirihara though. Also a really nice confession scene, 10/10. Kind of feels like the pacing is a bit fast though, but I have watched all 4 episodes in a row so not sure. |

Furthermore, an adaption that requires the book to supplement it's goodness is a failed adaption. 2 of 3 reviews total, where all three reviewers admit that they haven't read the LN in the first place? Truly a damning indictment :) I seem to recall you shouting from the hills about Rakudai's "Universal acclaim" so yes, 2/3 is pretty damning Just pointing out that if you look at the episode review numbers, a lousy 3.5% are at "dislike" or worse, and if you assume that most of the WWW added their votes, the reception of the anime fans is almost universally positive. That's because most people reserve there scores until the show is uh, actually finished Hey, your detective skills are about as good as your keen review eye. I'm not even using Skype. Many people don't agree with anything at this point in time. Most people wont post reviews of the show til its done and the small amount of "helpful" votes are skewed because of the lack people people looking at said reviews at the moment and yours being first up ;P From the voting in this thread and the episode reviews on reddit on the anime and japanese anime subs, most viewers seem to be enjoying it, especially as of episode 4. It remains to be seen how the show does in sales and as the season continues, but being rated at 1500th place as of episode 4 is actually quite a good spot to be sitting. It means people are still keeping up with it enough that the score could improve greatly by the end (or plummet). Edit: Also, looking at your review, how are you adjusting individual ratings based on others? That's a terrible method. If the art is fantastic, you give it a fantastic score, you don't drop that one because other components (story/characters) are lower. That just screams of bias and an agenda. |
