There are enough shows for me to watch, so if new ones stop airing in some years, I'll at least have time to catch up.

No I don't sadly. I can't read a book while being constantly interupted by real life shit, it just doesn't work for me. I need to be able to sid down in a quiet room and let the book suck me into it's world.
Can't do that if you need to put the book down and do shit every 10min... >.>
I can pause an anime just fine in case you ask about that. Cheers

If you're a leftist it's possible to disagree with something but say it's right

But it's a different kind of right.

Actually anime is dying, the reason is first of all the author lack of creativity. A lot anime is so similar, with similar Protagonist, similar Plot, similar Heroine, Similar Comedy, Similar Eichiness, similar Loli, similar Past, etc. Then the lost interest of Otaku, I am big fan of anime, light novel, manga, and game. For more than 10 years I am being an Otaku. But for this few months I rarely read a manga, barely watch an anime, not even touching a light novel, and got bored so easily when playing a game. Anime world need a revolution! The author have to bring a change! We have to stop this lack of creativity!

"I'm not interested in any of the current stuff, so therefore it's dying" is basically what you are saying.

Being creative in this era, where nearly every single damn idea has been used, is not possible. Ofc there'll be plenty of ideas "reused" because nobody can be original at this point, but that isn't bad. For example Rakudai no Kishi from last year was about as cliché as a show can be, yet it was actually rather entertaining (imo atleast) because the execution and comedy was good. Shows can all be the same, so long the execution is done well they'll still be good.

just another old person who is claiming that back in his day was better and the newer generation is ruining it for everyone

people were saying music was dying when Elvis became famous, yet look how big provocative music is now, well sorry buddy, its the same with anime, its only getting more popular every day

Anime may or may not die out. But I know Eroge won't ever die.

Eroge's fanbase isn't as big as anime but its dedicated. Top eroge companies like Yuzusoft, August, Pulltop, Saga Planets and Ensemble all have extremely loyal fanbases and everyone buys all their products not just the main games.

People say anime is getting worse but eroge is the opposite. Its actually getting better every year, more and more quality games are being pumped out every year more than the last.

The fact is, the majority of eroge fans are single salarymen that spends their free time and salary to buy and play eroge. All they have in their life is work and eroge, lots of money to buy games.

Meanwhile, anime fanbase is a huge mixture of all age, of course it won't last because the taste are completely different between age groups.

Anime is not dying. Thanks to China, anime industry is growing.

However, if anime really die and gone, it won't bother me at all. There are lots of better shows out there for me which are better than anime.
But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

http://www.classzone.com/books/lnetwork_gr08/page_build.cfm?content=analyz_media&ch=30

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

Peace out, nerds"

5-20 years left, oh dear, this is serious and with 2020 coming, the decline might accelerate.

Anime should switch from a primarily BD/DVD model to CD/Merchandise/Streaming model for starters and more anime should at least get a simulcast in other regions. Toei, Sanrio, and others were on the right track. I look for merchandise or CDs to support series and characters I like over BDs/DVDs because I can impulse buy them easy, I can easily add CDs to my usual order of games that I import or buy more than 3 figures at a time, I also occasionally like to buy plushies like now I'm looking for a plushie of a character from a currently airing anime. Also, maybe a donation box for fans to donate towards their favorite anime and studio.

Its already adjusting to a watch this show and now go dump money on gacha pulls in the mobage model

anime isnt dying its just good shows that are dying, most anime nowadays are quite generic and are churned out to make money so there arent as many/if any *really* good, original anime being created for the fear that they wont make as much money as say a naruto copy

@Nico-

yep... can't satisfy anyone, change something to suit one group of people and you'll just piss off another group

ive always been fine with anime, i see no big difference between anime now and anime of the past
and don't have any sort of difficult time enjoying myself watching it, no matter what year its from

one thing i love to point out about these really bitchy threads is its ALMOST ALWAYS someone who's seen less than 100 anime, as well as those who agree with them lol

also i can't wait for the hypocrisy in 15 years when we start looking back at todays anime and saying the same things ppl are saying about 80s and 90s anime

"you know, 2008+ wasn't so bad, they were really great if you think about it"

then start shitting on the anime that come out 15 years from now

Bullshit, new episodes of Naruto are great, Madhouse is still going very strong, attack on Titan season 2 is going to be a hit no doubt, Erased is a great anime, etc

If anything went downhill it's the Evangelion franchise, the new movies are contrived garbage compared to his controversial masterpiece from the 90s

Hmmm...

He's giving factual evidence from an insider's perspective about how anime isn't financially feasible. From this statement I can see how anime's been transforming over the years and primarily doing licensed work and whatnot.

I mean... we're getting a McDonalds anime for god's sake.

He has a point about anime dying, but only in it's current form. It's most likely changing into something else, and I think that the transition will take a while. I also don't think anime in it's current state will really disappear either. As long as people get into it as a passion I believe it'll exist as a passion too.

I don't think he means it's dying in the literal sense, rather that it's more about commercial appeal now than artistry. And that's absolutely true. You just don't get auteur-driven stuff like Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and Revolutionary Girl Utena anymore.
Take care of yourself

Anno was trying to mimic his mentor Miyazaki, in order to stay relevant with that grift, but failed miserably. Meanwhile Tomino still enjoying anime like Demon Slayer and Love Live.
