Most, if not all, Ghibli movies are family-friendly. Most of them are dubbed too, although the quality may be debatable. For your brother, particularly, I'd suggest My Neighbour Totoro, as well as Kiki's Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle

Summer Wars
Most Ghibli (Princess Mononoke/Isao Takahata films might be a bit iffy)
Kemono no Souja Erin (if it has a dub)

Mononoke Hime is too mature for a six-year-old; Ponyo or Totoro are better choices. Summer Wars might work better, though some of the family scenes may prove too slow-going for your brother.

Erin has no dub, and it has some pretty disturbing scenes as well. I think the novelist, Uehashi Nahoko, intended the book for kids around ten and older. Her other adapted work, Seirei no Moribito, is for kids about 12+.

Six is a bit young for most things other than Pokemon and company. The two Magi series might be a possibility, but your mother might not look too fondly on the scenes with ten-year-old Aladdin burying his face in the ample bosoms of various women throughout the show.

My other suggestion would be Chi's Sweet Home, 104 three-minute episodes about a kitty adopted by a young Japanese family. It's now available on DVD, but only with subtitles I'm afraid. Still, the language is pretty simple so your brother might be able to handle it with help from you and your mom. Here's the OP:

+1000 Doraemon, it's dubbed and I think kids would easily enjoy that.

I would also think DBZ Kai if your mom is OK with cartoon violence. From what I remember of the TV version, gore and language were cut out, so it felt like a Saturday morning action show, which worked on a lot of levels.

Depends on the maturity of your brother. My son at that age watched FMA, Fairy tail, Totoro, ponyo, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away), and many others. Decide what they may like genre wise based on the shows they currently watch and try to find something similar.
There are many unusual things in this world. Everyday events occur that cannot be explained. Bizarre phenomena that often go unnoticed because people close their eyes to what they don’t understand. But the truth of the matter is, there are many unusual things in this world. And people…. People are the most mysterious of them all.

I'd say something from Studio Ghibli, or sports anime like Haikyuu or Kuroko no Basket since they're pretty intense and interesting. Magi is also pretty fun and the action isn't bloody, but then again, it depends on the maturity of your brother.

Just a little warning, there is a nip-slip in one very very very tiny section of the movie. I's pretty minor, so you can easily let it slide.

+1 Spirited Away
