Indeed. There's the new joke with me having over 10k posts as well though.

Some 10k posters really DON'T have lives.

They try to do things that will classify them as interesting, even though they absolutely are of no value whatsoever in this twisted world of ours.

Huh?

Aaaanyway, seriously. Some 10k posters don't have lives. I mean for starters, 75% of their post count come from clubs. 20k people have it even worse.

I feel like you are venting your anger at a specific person with over 10k posts rather than the general public with over 10k posts.

Really there's no one, okay there's 3 specific people I may be referring to. But in my defense I said some not all.

I would say that the definition of life and love differs from person to person.
So, even if when we feel sorry or feel down when we see other life getting cherished or perished we can never define which one is better.

Discussing post might not be the worst case to say not to have a life.

try to find the find the good in yours, cherish it and thrive constantly to make it even better.

I don't really think anything about them. I'd be surprised if you're new and you have 10k+ posts, but if you've been here for quite some time then I'd just think that you like to discuss - which is a good thing, if you ask me.

Users who are concerned about what their posts counts may say about them don't have a life.

What actually counts is the quality of your posts. Volume doesn't matter. For example there are lots of people around with huge post counts but who I know nothing about, even though I've been here for years. I don't automatically respect those people.

If you've only got 100 posts but you're interesting, then I'll probably notice you more than those 10+k posters.

What having that number of posts really means is- sometimes you post in chat clubs. And that's it.

If 10k posts does that mean these users, usually tweet and fb everything?

Perhaps. But discussion is discussion after all. Some people care about the quality, some don't. Even when it's not about german cartoons.

You and I both know some people inflate their sense of self worth on these forums - they talk about the "quality" of their posts because they have something to prove. It's not like 100% of my posts are shit. I enjoy discussion, but I also don't take myself so seriously. It's like a contest with some of the pseudo-intellectual blowhards on this site - how many philosophical buzzwords can I drop in my post so that I look like I know what I'm talking about? It's not about discussion after a certain point, it's about showcasing how smart you think you are

And this isn't a jab at AnnoKano before it comes across that way, I don't even know him. I was just using his post as a springboard

They do. But quality seems very subjective in a sense. Some like to talk about things that might seem a bit too egotistical (I think that's a good word for it). But it's what they want. And whenever someone makes a post, someone can have a problem with it and respond in some sense. It could be for proving themselves, proving their opinion, padding self worth, or they truly just want to talk about it because they have a passion for it. Any which way, you don't really know. Quality varies. Some people's qualities take for example on reddit, revolves around circlejerk subreddits. Others revolve around book discussion subreddits. You have to admit, there are some people that take their lives pretty seriously throughout life. Same way someone takes their life a joke throughout life and never talks seriously. And everything in between.

This wasn't a jab at you either, or a defense post for Anno. I'm just curious what your thoughts are.

I've always drawn a line between taking myself seriously and taking myself too seriously. Some people come across as a caricature because of how they carry themselves, even in situations that don't warrant it. If that's your personality, fine, but it doesn't make it any less abrasive or socially awkward.

You'll notice that on topics that I am passionate about I am serious, but I'm not afraid to be lighthearted either. All of this talk about "earning respect" or "quality" comes off as insecure to me - I understand that it isn't always that way, but it happens often enough for me to have trouble not making assumptions.

I'll be as clear as possible: I have nothing against being serious or even thinking that your posts warrant a serious response, but when you start to outwardly project that you care about the quality of your posts it reeks of insecurity. I know several users that view their posts as "quality" and actually spend more time speaking in circles than saying anything worthwhile

Isn't socially awkward situations, awkward if someone feels out of place or uncomfortable? If no one does, can it still be awkward? I'd feel awkward dressing up in magical girl cosplay and going to an anime con. But people don't. And people would consider that awkward because they wouldn't be taking themselves seriously enough in a sense.

I hear you. Assumptions are hard to not make, especially when confronted with something different from an ideal you may have about social order. But we can see their side somewhat. Empathize. Someone could say something you do is awkward and insecure, but who knows. Maybe it's not? I don't think anyone is trained on here with a sociology and psychology degree to make that inference. And even if they did, telling personalities over text is hard. But that makes me hypocritical because I've tried it at times.

This same concept could apply to a user, who sees more in the lighthearted not so serious nature as well, no? Couldn't a person say a lack of super serious discussions on every topic they discuss is a projection of their insecurities as well? It seems like no matter which way the coin falls, it can be applied to both ways. And it's all based on a person's view of what they consider normal and acceptable.

Sensitivity could be applied to you too, because you're "sensitive" to these users posting their way, and you find fault with it enough to post about them in complaint. I dunno man. Seems like a lot of skewed perception.
