| I can say this is the most beautiful episode of Kiseijuu so far! Quite the rollercoaster of emotions in one episode. From drama (Umm, no sweat, I can handle this…) To more drama (What’s this, sweat in my eyes? Damn you, feels BGM!)… To comedy (Back-upped criminal had me utter a loud “Pffft” in the middle of the night)… To serious business (Scary Kubrick Stare is scary)… And with that, 23 minutes just passed in the blink of an eye. And I just sat there, dazed and amazed at the same time. Also, the ED finally features the badass Shinichi instead of his former four-eyes self! |

Are the cops in Japan really this unbelievably superstitious? Will they ever explain it for once before I dub them all idiots? The whole ending was as unbelievable as almost everything I've seen in this show. Because he has probably successfully demonstrated his abilities to detect parasites. Scientists were given screen time to show that they might have studied the parasites enough, and concluded that this man might have something in his genes that allows him to detect these parasites. And it's the police who are making him do this. Uragami himself is quite reluctant. (But since his crimes should easily place him in the death row, he might be able to use his ability as a bargaining chip.) |

And no the guy isn't reluctant because he's doing it to see if there are others like him. It was just a guess on my part, as to why only certain people have the ability. Genetics would be the likely explanation, but there are other possible candidates, such as previous exposure to weaker forms of parasites, and the like. It's just guessing. And regardless of this ability's true nature, it was nonetheless revealed to us from the outset (see the last scenes of episode 1, where Uragami suddenly "felt" something falling from the sky). So this is not an asspull out of nowhere. It's not a plot convenience, it was there from the start. Unlike your typical Shounen protagonist suddenly gaining new abilities to defeat the otherwise undefeatable villain. If one demands an in-depth explanation for the mechanics of this ability, then one might as well question how the parasites were created, how they're capable of stretching to several times their apparent size,... and while we're at it, question how magic works in all of fiction that involves magic, how the physics of time travel works in all of fiction that involves time travel, etc. |

The series is SUPPOSED to explain the things about these parasites because they're a part of the plot. The show is fucking called "Parasyte" so the least they could do is explain some of the shit about them such as their origin, who sent them and why are they only in Japan instead of shoving low quality drama down our throat. Also just because the guy "felt" something because of his "unexplained genetics" doesn't mean its not plot convenience. |

I agree that they should at least give an explanation, but not the boring biological details behind how exactly the parasites function. A simple "Oh, they were accidentally created by this certain group of mad scientists who want to experiment on how humans would react if they weren't the top of the food chain, whether they'd consider their predators evil when they're just trying to survive. The scientists configured the parasites such that their own genetic structure allows them to detect their own creations. It just so happens that these genetic combinations are also present in a few other people," would suffice. Well, it's not over yet so they still have a chance to come up with something if they haven't already. |

| You can always count on Murano to ruin a perfectly good scene. Even when seconds are left on an episode as soon as she comes on the scene she ruins it So you have a bunch of cops with guns drawn, dead body on the ground and Izumi holding a baby. She busts into there and asks the same stupid question that she has been repeating every episode. WTF? |

| It was quite sad that Tamura Reiko died. That whole scene with the police shooting her and her not attacking and protecting the baby was just too sad with the ending song added, half the time I am like shouting for the police to stop shooting... Also the part when Reiko said to Shinichi not to bully Parasytes, I was confused like Shinichi since all these times it was the parastyes that were 'bullying' the humans instead but after seeing the scene of her protecting the baby without attacking back and the fact that she attacked that detective after the stunt he did trying to throw the baby down, it is just how normal any living things with a heart would react. You can say parasytes are no different from any animals or to be more specific mammals; they attack when they feel threatened or their loved ones are threatened(for Reiko's case), they take over humans'/animals' brains partly cos that's how they can survive and it is in any living things' instincts to try to survive regardless of means. While it is cruel to say that it is fine for parastyles to take over humans' brains, it is simply just a natural part of these living things... As to why they are created/existed with such a 'ability'/'function', I think this is what this show is trying to convey out and also what Reiko wanted to find out.(Sadly she died T^T) Once again I ramble too much but this episode really hit me right into the heart at the first part... That scene just reminds of how animals like tigers, lions got killed from attacking humans b'cos of reasons like the humans provoked first or their babies were threatened or the fact that it is in these animals' instincts to kill for meat...(That part can be countered that humans attacking b'cos these animals attack first...) Can't wait for the next episode!(The new guy introduced at the second half was creepy but I suppose will be the next opponent Shinichi needs to deal with... Oh yeah, glad that the hole in Shinichi's heart is kinda whole again with him finally able to cry!) |

| Outstanding episode. Really liked Reiko's death scene, and i also regret her death - she deserved better, but that's the price she has to pay for killing ~40 people. Still, she's almost on par with Shinichi's mom with how she protected her baby, it was actually really sweet how she cared for it in the end. Wish she would've finished the sentence about the mayor, though. On a side note, why do all the entertaining/good females die, but Murano and her braindead friends continue to roam around? Shinichi's mom, Kana, now Reiko, yet the girl who saw a dried out corpse and a blood-soaked baby in Shinichi's arms and cried tears of joy is still alive. Mind-boggling. Anyway, new character is introduced... quite the character, indeed. I can't believe he actually started masturbating and then fell asleep. I'm thinking Shinichi is in deep trouble, wonder how he's gonna get out of this one. From the preview it looks like Migi won't screw around next time. Reiko remains the smartest and best parasyte for now. Migi's still has ways to go, especially regarding its talk about ''own survival trumps all''. Can't wait for the idiotic mayor and his minions to be exterminated, i mean Reiko's progress really made me realize how limited the other parasites are. 5/5 |

| On a different note, I've been thinking about Reiko's monologue about parasytes and humans being the different sides of the same coin. Reiko was really smart, like genius-smart. And all her research about the differences and possibilities of the two species co-existing side by side, she was the only one who it all applied to: 1. She was eating normal food as well instead of only humans while the rest of her kind still ate humans and had no intentions to change that. 2. She wanted to co-exist. 3. There was no need for her to even actually bother to do all that research while the rest were like "pfft why should I care?" but she did it anyway, and seeing that she didn't think alike ("human = only food"), her brethren wanted to get rid of her. 4. She was adapting/evolving at a much quicker pace than the others, learning about experiencing honest feelings about things and expressing them at right times. 5. She was a klutz at getting the hang of holding her baby right but she honestly cared about it; she could have experimented on it a thousand times by now but she never did. So yeah, if the others were evolving at the pace she was evolving, her theory would have been proven right but the others were just too lazy to bother/didn't give a shit. Like what can you expect from a blob with just ridiculously sharp knives and half a brain which only cares about killing other species :/ |

| NOOOO Tamura Reiko D: Why did they have to kill the best character. I was hoping it would at least be another parasite who kills her like they actually tried before. On top of that they are about to find out about Shinichi isn't entirely human. Shit's about to go down I guess. Also I wouldn't say Shinichi is back to normal. Crying one time doesn't really mean anything and he still isn't reacting very much. If at all he finally managed to process his losses. Something had to happen at some point but with all the parts of Migi still in Shinichis body I highly doubt he's back to being a relatively normal student(after going through all this there wouldn't be any chance to get back into the initial state anyway. so I went with "relatively normal") |

| Murano = "You've changed....I don't know you anymore" to the point where I just skip coversations with her in them. They killed off the two best females in the series: Tamura Reiko and Kimishima Kana. They were both thoughtful, nice looking, and actually moved the series along. Murano is better left to being a Nissan product than the surviving hairball that she is so far. I hate to pin my hopes on a fapping convict but that looks to be the case.... |
