I've been trying to find anime that are actually emotionally involving. Where you actually care about the characters and what happens to them. Usually anime with deaths are pretty good, where the characters aren't immortal bulletproof gods thats can't ever die. Anime is getting kinda boring. I'm looking for a something amazing.

Examples:
-Attack on titan
-claymore
-death note
-mirai nikki
-Zankyou no terror
-guilty crown: this was good up to a point, then went downhill
-akame ga kill: lol, got repetitive with the deaths though.

Hey,
You should try Gungrave. I guarantee you that after seeing the last episode you will cry like a baby. P.S. Don’t watch the first episode, just skip it.

Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg... and my arm... even my fingers. The body I've lost... the comrades I've lost... won't stop hurting... It's like they're all still there. You feel it, too, don't you? I'm gonna make them give back our past."

I've seen zetsuen no tempest and put shinsekai yori on hold. I've heard of all the others and am going to watch them soon. The only one I'm unsure about is monster. I've heard its amazing but the animation is pretty old and the story is so slow to develop.

I already know about wolf children, gonna watch it soon. I don't really know about grave of the fireflies, the animation is kinda old and throws off the whole feel for me.

Already watched angel beats and sao. I don't think I'll get too invested into gurren lagann, it has a lot of comedy and that kinda takes away a lot of attachemnt for me. An anime can have a couple spots for comedy here and there, but when the whole anime is based on comedy, over the top action, and goofy and over-animated character it feels less mature and appealing to me.

You should definitely check out Death Parade. It's currently airing, but this anime already has got the feels in the first few episodes.

Other anime with feels:
Clannad and Clannad: After story (The latter has more feels, though)
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (currently airing but this one certainly has the feels)

Another vote for NHK ni Youkoso! It seems like a otaku comedy at first, but then it goes in some remarkable directions starting around the "offline meeting" arc. Personally I was probably most emotionally invested in Kashima's story, but I found myself caring about many of the characters in this show.

Two other good options I don't see on your lists are Chihayafuru and Cross Game.

Grave of the Fireflies is absolutely worth watching. The art is not that dated, it's quite like Miyazaki's films actually.

I know you mentioned you're not really into sports anime, but I would recommend Ping Pong. It's very different from your average sports anime and the level of character development and exploration is intense, you really get pulled into the character's lives.

Also NGE. Just because.

I tired the anime suzumiya haruhi but shes really annoying and I don't know if I can handle that. I know the movie is really good though.probably gonna watch puella some time soon. I tied higurashi and really tied to like it but, i just got confused why they keep showing the same thing over and over again. Its kinda ll over the place, i guess the gore and stuff eas exciting though.

The animation for rurouni puts me off. And again about monster, its has a pretty old feel to it and it really alow to develop. If it was more like death note then maybe, but I don't think I want to wait that long.
