if they did the act, they're guilty even if not proven. As simple as that.

By each let this be heard,
Some do it with a bitter look,
Some with a flattering word,
The coward does it with a kiss,
The brave man with a sword!''

When I read the title, made me think of Ace Attorney lol

Nobody is ever innocent, except for me, if we are talking about "that" kind of innocence > //// <

I say no, courts have let the guilty person walk many times and imprisoned many people who were falsely accused. Unfortunately real life isn't Psycho Pass so we have to use the courts but most humans are suuch fucking liars :/

Well.
That's how the law is supposed to work.

There are those with a more cynical view of the world who would disagree with that statement.

And then there are people who subscribe to the idea that the government sees you as guilty until proven guilty, and that the idea of freedom in that sense is merely an illusion.

most of the times yes, i say this because sometimes a really innocent person that did not do any crime is judged by the law wrongly

Murderers are never innocent, even if they get away with it.

well.. if you commit a crime then you're guilty, even if you get away with it

in practicality however, if noone knows your guilty or can't prove it, then in the public eye you'll be innocent

depends on if we're looking from the general public eye or some omnipresent one

That's the way it should be, but in many cases in the current justice system it doesn't work out like that. Many people are convicted of crimes based on bias from the jury (who are supposed to be unbiased) and by negative portrayal in the media among other things.

Yes. A legal system where guilt is assumed is terrible. Why should the defendant be the one to prove their innocence? How do you even do that in some situations?

Oh for fucks sake morality is subjective, if there is no feeling of guilt within the individual then he is subjectively innocent however if he let a horse do it up the butt he is objectively guilty

Sorry just so many quotes ingrained in memory from that game.

To answer the main question, regardless how how people feel that is the system we use and its the only one we have that allows for equal treatment. Everyone is innocent until some proof of guilt can be attained. It allows us to stop peoples lives and reputations been ruined from hearsay and rumor.

Its a great game.

Though I do think that its better to assume one is guilty untill proven otherwise.

Sometimes simply the trials ruins their reputations. Like MJ, but we all know deep down the truth of his "sleepovers".

Schrodinger's accused. You can't have an accused pedophile taking kindergarten classes, so your not really presuming them innocent, but you aren't presuming guilt either.

Who is innocent??
The only one who hadn't had the chance to commit wrong and who is guilty , the one whose desires have been fulfilled but he was defiled and hated by society!!

In most court systems yes; in the eyes of the public, No. People judge others within the first 30 seconds (if not less) at first appearance. Unless there is outstanding evidence to change that opinion shortly after, bias sets in. Throw in brodcasting, and that bias turns into peer opinion AKA the voice of the "people"
