Is it the eyes? The voice-acting? The main character? What elements in an anime make it unwatchable for you? I myself cannot stand when there is clearly the potential for suspense and action, but you have a boring or whiny MC preventing it from happening MCs that stop things from happening are a huge red flag |

Lately it's been censoring. Cannot stand that. But the usual turnoffs would be poor cast, lack of clear idea, ridiculous amounts of fanservice, pretentious nature, and headtilting. |

Kana Hanazawa Yuki Kaji Generic-kun is just a generic gene until one day, a beautiful girl falls from the sky and his life is changed forever. Rom-Com Harems that are never going to have any romance development. Rei Kugimiya Loli's. People saying on MAL at any time that "it gets better". |

Character designs. Is the female's design attractive? Is her eyes the size of Jay Z's lips? Is her voice sexy and mature? (Hate high pitched voices) |

Talking about a turn-off, tsunderes punching the MC in the face at the first five minutes. Useless characters crying because they're useless and can't do anything to help their people. |

-Other than the obligatory ones (stated above),I really hate Boyscout Protagonists,as some of their actions tend to come off as either illogical or retarded (lookin'at you FSN),or both. -Fanservice also tends to bug especially in Mech shows, and do'nt even get me started on Gundam SEED and Majestic Prince's annoying stock footage fanservice, and Akame Ga Kill's retardedness |

FloatsBoats said: What particular role do you dislike for Jun Fukuyama? I don't dislike him at all, but his voice is pretty generic for me... Chuunibyou, Kuroshitsuji, Rail Wars, Working!!... etc. He tends to make the character a lot perverted than they already are lol A lot of his characters (minus a few) I would rather hear other voice actors doing their voices. |

I'm a pretty average guy. Bad at athletics and intelligence so-so. I don't have many friends either, except for my one best friend. He and I have been friends since childhood. But then... Everything about my everyday normal life changed with the transfer student. *Mysterious girl walks in* <--- That is the biggest turn off, or anything similar. I can't believe that this premises has been used a myriad of times, yet still forgiven and used...? |

I lose faith/interest in an anime when: The main character gets hit for no reason and it's supposed to make me laugh. Characters are physically abusive for no reason and it's portrayed in a way where the audience is supposed to think it is ok and normal. Characters act like condescending assholes to the main character and talk down to them for no reason. Characters act like retarded 9 year olds. The dialogue feels like it was written by somebody who has never interacted with another human being in their entire life. It's a harem. It's "technically not a harem", but the only characters allowed besides the main character and bad guys are hot women. Same crap. Panty shots. Situations are contrived and forced to result in nothing but a character breaking their characterization in order to dumb themselves down to inhuman levels of stupidity and uncoordination in order to give the audience a retarded scene of stupid shit that's supposed to be sexy (grabbing a boob after falling down or some shit), but in reality wouldn't sexually excite anybody with a functioning brain outside of middle school. The main character is the least important character, because they are written specifically so that nobody gives a damn about them, and the anime tries its best to convince everybody that the main character doesn't actually exist. Posters don't show them, PVs don't show them, OPs and EDs purposefully exclude them. If you try hard enough, maybe you can convince yourself that they don't really exist (and the girls love you instead!) It's not a show about them, even though they're the main character. And that just creates a disaster of a narrative that has no chance of amounting to anything besides tasteless crap. Melodramatic overreaction to mundane shit in order to create a sense of false drama because the writer is too incompetent to create any actual tension or interesting development in the story. Scenes, characters, plot points, and entire shows exist for no reason other than to conform to and enforce gender roles. Woo hoo boys have no worth outside of their use to women and how they can solve a woman's problems; their own problems are unimportant and nonexistent because.... paying attention to a male character is boring and I can't fap to that/ewwwey gay/REAL MAN HURRRRR, and women have no worth outside of being a pair of tits to win as a prize. Barf. Stupid arbitrary cultural dogma (sexism, etc) is perpetuated and unquestioned, demonstrating a distinct lack of both maturity and awareness from the author. Overexplination/summery of shit that just fucking happened, or is completely obvious. Bad exposition where characters explain things to each other that they should already know, but the writer doesn't know any other way to give information to the audience except for spoon-feeding it. A love interest is completely unlikable in every way possible. The main character exists to be nothing but a punching bag. Writers think that a lame fetish is an adequate replacement to actually writing a personality. Generic vagueness in the dialogue used to create a contrived sense of mystery that does nothing but make me roll my eyes and wish that the characters would start talking and interacting like normal people. Violence is used as something I'm supposed to laugh at. Violence is used as something I'm supposed to crave and hope happens (fanservice). The main character is designed with the intent that I'm not supposed to like them, and not in an antihero way, but in a "omg girls like him I'm so jealous I hope he dies" sort of way, so that when horrible, undeserved, unjustified shit happens to them for no reason, I'm supposed to just go along with it and not question why people are treating them like less than a human being, and enjoy it as the fanservice it was meant to be. Writers who clearly don't give a shit about anything other than sucking as much money from people who are only interested in the same fucking shit being repeated over and over again as possible. |

If they're going to blatantly flash ecchi in the first 5 minutes I'm going to be skeptical about watching the rest of the anime from fear of brain cell loss. I'll still watch, but if my suspicions turn out to be true, when I'm about 1/2 of the way I drop it; because at that point I don't care what the ending is. Otherwise I'm open to anything. |

When you finally decide to watch it after that 1/2 hour - 2 hours download of the whole series (arr shiver me timbers) and discover it's not what you thought it was, it's a buzzkill. It's especially a buzzkill for people who watch anime based on synopses and a page of google images. It's free yet STILL not worth it. Proceed to highlight folder, then delete. |
