What was the worst thing that anime did to you? did it ruined your career? did it ruined your personal life? did it ever destroyed your social reputation?

it did everything listed to me...

once I got a good job. responsible one. I've been working there for months. I had a very sexy boss, she was older than me, but never missed a chance to sexually harass me. since I liked that harassment we ended up in a secret office romance. That was amazing job, I liked it very much, especially my boss. yet one day at work she find my waifu in my laptop. my waifu was set as desktop wallpaper, she was in sexy underwear and in sexy position. so my sexy boss got very angry because of my 2D preference over 3D and so she fired me and said that she dont want to see me anymore...

And after a few years since that story my new girlfriend find my profile in MAL (since I left open browser window of MAL on my laptop and went into toilet to piss) and she saw how good I rated Yosuga no sora, Aki sora, Kissxsis and other incestic anime... so she started to cry, slaped me into a face, called me sick stupid sisterfucker and left me. Later she told to all our friends about my love for incest and so all my friends turned back from me and started to pretend they dont know me.

So anime took my career, my GF and my social life... I have nothing left.

So share your stories. Have you ever been in trouble because of anime?

It turned out to be a good thing but I never learned about it until 3 years later, my ex hooked up with a well to do guy and bankrupted him, she got his house as well.

Yeah, unless he was in porn or a model (in which this is common), this is too good to be true.

I'm a lot more careful about women now, I just wish one existed that didn't care much if at all about money and had decent looks.

Sorry about your experiences, OP. I'm really surprised at your girlfriend's reaction to the incest anime. It's not like she found you in bed with a family member or something.

Liking anime around here used to be something that only "weird kids" liked. So I guess I've been a weird kid for years until recently. More people are getting into anime, so I'm not really the "weird kid" or "weird adult" anymore.

Well, there was this one time I went to Otakon in Baltimore and it was really sunny in the morning so I was getting all sweaty in my Zero costume but I didn't want to take the helmet off because the visor was 100% UV protection and my eyes are really really sensitive so anyways I was walking down the sidewalk and then I saw this 7-11 and realized I was really thirsty so I wnet in and got a really big Slurpee (I mixed all the flavors because that's the way it tastes best and then I got in line behind a couple other people and the skinny girl in front of me had a bottled tea and a snack bar or something and she paid with a $50 dollar bill but forgot to take her change so I grabbed it off the counter and ran after her because that is the right thing to do in that situation but I forgot I didn't pay for my Slurpee and the 7-11 guy yells something really nasty at me as I run out but I ignore him because I have to give that girl her change and she's actually pretty fast so then I'm running down the sidewalk with a Slurpee and a handful of cash and it's actually hard to run in my costume and the visor is kinda fogged up in the helmet so I can't see real well and I knock over this old lady with a walker and accidentally get my arm caught on this really hot chick's purse strap but I keep going like a champ after the girl who forgot her change and then I hear "Freeze motherf-----" but I keep going and then I hear this pop pop pop noise like fireworks or something and I suddenly can't seem to run anymore and fall on the pavement and then after I wake up in the hospital I find out that this cop thought I was a shoplifter or something and shot me in the back 4 times and I'm not even black or anything wtf is up with that and now I'm a quatropolegic or something like that

I've been beat up by thugs, lost five girlfriends, kicked out of two schools, not allowed on Big Brother, bullied every second of every day, lost my job, exiled from my town, got pig's blood purred on me at prom like the movie Carrie, me liking anime is the reason NY Giants beat the NE Patriots at the superbowl 7 years ago, am the reason why John Cena wins almost every match.

Initially, I am the type to never let anyone know about my interests unless I feel they are close enough. Anime never really ruined anything for me, but it did limit me in terms of social interaction and relations.

When discussion would arise in relation to hobby's and interests, I, for some reason, felt it necessary to exclude anime and figure collecting and such; no real implications of isolation were apparent, but I just felt isolated in my interests.

To this day, I keep my tastes to myself and don't try to let out my enjoyment of anime and manga to anyone outside of my closest circle. I find that many individuals will try to label my interests as a sort of, 'fetish,' but that is far from the truth. I don't find any physical gratification from anime or manga, but I do find relaxation and simple enjoyment.

Apparently this ideal, from what I have encountered, is odd. I have been into anime and manga since an early age, "(I'm nearly 30,)" but I have never felt a strong desire to be accepted within the majority. I just sorta hang with myself and find gratification through that.

I find it hard to believe anime would ruin your social life, unless it was already ruined to begin with.

Most non-anime fans are indifferent at most.
