| It is a good site, except it has ONE problem that KILLS it. The karma system. People don't even debate with you on the site. If you have an unpopular opinion that everyone disagrees with, they will give you negative karma EVEN if your opinion is the correct one. You will receive so much negative karma for your post that your post will become hidden. Hiding someone's post by giving it negative karma is basically a form of censorship, and this especially sucks if someone is saying something that is correct but the masses are too dumb to agree with it. Similarly, if someone agrees with your comment, they will give you positive karma. So even if your opinion is complete and utter nonsense, if enough people agree with it, then you will receive a ton of positive karma. As anyone with half-a-brain should know, just because an opinion is more popular doesn't make it the RIGHT option. For example, in Nazi Germany, they believed that Jews were evil and needed to be exterminated. That was the most popular opinion back then, but did that make it right? Nope it doesn't. Similarly unpopular opinions are often the right opinions. For example, only a small minority of people believed that the Earth revolved around the sun back in Galileo's time. Just because only a small percentage of people believed in the opinion didn't mean that opinion was wrong. In fact, it is the right opinion because it can be proven that the Earth revolved around the sun, and not the other way around. Reddit would be a much better site if nobody one was allowed to give negative karma (and thereby no one would be able to censor unpopular views). Or better yet, Reddit would be much better if there wasn't a karma system at all, because all the karma system does it induce conformity and censor unpopular but correct view points. |

| Reddit is cool. The community can suck a lot at times, but just find a decent subreddit and stay away from front page shit. | I don't have a strong opinion on reddit. It's filled with garbage, but I've stumbled upon some good subreddits in the past as well, although I've never felt like involving myself on the site or create an account. Browsing reddit is fucking tedious for me as well. |

| It's interesting enough for me to check it fairly regularly. The karma system is terrible for discussion though. Only cheep jokes/puns make it to the top (not that I don't enjoy them) and any opinion that the community disagrees with gets downvoted into oblivion. The issues are most prominent with celebrity topics I find. There are certain people that you just can't say anything bad about on reddit and others whom it's a crime to compliment.
