I'd rather not. Let's be honest, in 9 out of 10 cases you wouldn't notice any difference in how they look. Then, you would get some stereotypical character that is nowhere close to a real foreigner from a given country.

Are you implying Joseph Joestar is not an accurate depiction of an American from the '30s?
And I mean that in the most sexually painful way possible.

Yep, that proves it. 90% of MAL users are foreign, 60% of those 90% MAL users are FBI agents

Screw foreigners.
It's natural for a person to deny he's a failure as a human being. That's why he searches for somebody who is more miserable than himself. That's why so much animosity exists on the internet. Those who aren't able to find a more miserable person, turn to the internet and call other people losers, even though they've never met. Just to make themselves feel superior. isn't that pathetic? There's a sense of security that comes from speaking badly of someone else. But that isn't true salvation. — Tatsuhiro Satou

We would have a Brazilian main character in the next Idolm@ster if the fans didn't have such poor taste in idols.

What's the point?

Ethnicity/race is barely clear at all in most anime since character design doesn't resemble actual humans much.

I doubt that an anime with foreign lead would do well. That would be like expecting a battle shounen with an alien MC to become one of the most popular series ever.

more like secondary characters and antagonist should be foreign that talk in their native tongue, not for the whole time though more like kong for from ping pong, he was talking in Chinese for good portion of his screen time and only talked in Japanese when necessary.

I'm all for foreign protagonists as long as the entire ethnic diversity theme is not the main subject of the series. In the end, though, I don't remember nationality of a certain character being the factor that determined how much I enjoy anime.

I thought Michiko to Hatchin was great. Black Lagoon with its very American Revy was fairly enjoyable too. Then again, Gankutsuou bored me to agony. And then there's Kuroshitsuji (they're British, aren't they), that I found too agonizing not to drop after a couple of episodes.

Here is the top most favorite characters on MAL:

1. Lelouche Lamperouge - British,
2. L Lawliet - probably British, definitely not Japanese
3. Monkey D. Luffy - from parallel universe
4. Yagami Light - Japanese
5. Edward Elric - parallel universe
6. Roronoa Zoro - parallel universe
7. Okabe Rintarou - Japanese
8. Sakata Gintoki - super saiyan
9. Naruto - parallel
10.Kurosaki Ichigo -Japanese

Noone cares their origin. It is the least important thing. In case you mean foreign protagonists in slice of life, or realistic settings, I would rather don't have them. Why? Because Japanese anime creators are bad at that. What they create are stereotypes, caricatures of foreigner.

Stupid Japanese accent Japanese voice actors make for foreign characters irritates me.

It works well for Legend of the Galactic Heroes. There is like just one Asian guy in the whole universe. Seeing how many OVAs they produced it still seemed quite successful in Japan.

Beside that we still have more foreign protagonists in Anime than in Hollywood movies.

Hallelujah...I'm right ;D. First time i dind't do shit.
Most of the Sanji attacks, comes to be based on cooking(french) or sth.
Épaule = French term for shoulder meat
Collier = French for neck meat
Côtelette = French term for rib meat
Poitrine = French term for breast meat

....

Gomu it's not japanese word for rubber?
Gomu Gomu no Pisutoru Shotto = literally meaning "Rubber Rubber Pistol 'Shrapnel'"
