At least Obama does. Discuss~ Make you happy@@;? Make you rage@@;? Most wouldn't care, but yeah :3. You can guess what news station I saw that on, then again deathafterkarma said he saw it on CNN as well.

It's a sign of respect, who gives a shit if he's the president when he is in the presence of someone he feels the need to bow to?

As expected, hilarity ensued on Youtube comments; jesus fuckin christ Americans are raging hard over this lol.

For me it's a non-issue.

I've read though, that a spokesman for the white house is claiming it was not a bow, that sounds like spin to me, but who knows.

I could absolutely care less. It was really a mistake on his part, not because America was "bowing down", but that bowing down isn't really a sign of respect in that country. Oops. Asian cultures maybe.

I find nothing wrong with following culture or protocol.

Why does no one mentioning our lovely first lady touching the Queen on the back? Talk about a no-no.

I miss the good old days when a US President knew the proper, non-embarrassing way to be seen in public with a King of Saudi Arabia.

Apparently the Queen put her arm around Mrs. Obama first. The person in charge of etiquette said it was okay for her to return the gesture. :O

About this topic though, yeah, I don't care.

This is about as newsworthy as mommy photos of Halle Berry.

In order to rage/complain at this, you have to have a pretty large preexisting bias against Obama that clouds your judgement between what's newsworthy and what's tabloids. Either that, or you live on tabloids.

This is pretty minor in comparison to the pandering he did to Europe(which still did nothing to get countries like Germany or France to commit troops more in Afganistan).

It would be better than doing what Obama is doing imo.

But in all honesty, I would take the Reagan approach.

Bowing is the same thing as shaking hands, except even better. Not just that you can avoid shaking hands with people who might have just blew their nose or vomitted. Bowing also shows respect and thus, Obama did the right thing!

In fact, considering that Saudi Arabia has lots of oil. It is best for the United States to have good relations with them, just in case that they decide to unconditionally sell all their oil to China and Russia. The United States will lose in the end. This way, everything is good. Bot the Saudi Arabia leader and the US president are friendly with each other.

Jeez. I don't understand some people's rational when showing respect. It doesn't matter if it is a foreign leader that you personally care for or do not care for, you show respect by bowing (or whatever proper formal greeting is appropriate).

This is only a big deal so the zealot Christian-Right can try to shove down the "He's really a Muslim!" story down everyones' throats again.

While I believe that whole thing is ridiculous, I don't think the right is using this to label him as a " Muslim".

Karl Rove said a contact fell out of his eyes!

My Dad and I both think Obama has been doing a good job with the situation. First time we disagreed with him was bowing like that. It wasn't about who he was bowing to like that - he met a lot of powerful people last week and I don't remember such an exaggerated bow (I'll watch frame by frame with his meeting of the Queen of England later).

If you don't know about Saudi Arabia and you are happy he can bow as a friendly gesture, you're pretty ignorant.

Muslim lol... He already won - why pretend things happened when they don't?

How can liberals really believe America was in on 9/11, but they can't even imagine the liberal conspiracy that they brought race into the ring for him to win. They brought accusations of religion in the ring to win. lololol (this is a joke)

He is my president, I'll support him - Unlike undisciplined cry babies who lost the last 2 times.

i love how Obama has only been in office for less than 3 months and apparently he's already destroyed the country according to those FNC nitwits

but perhaps they're right and every action Obama takes is one small part of a sweeping conspiracy to take away our freedoms and turn us into a fascist state

kind of ironic
