THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- So I finally had the chance to watch this, and it was pretty good. I only have one complaint though. What is it with Capcom making movies making Chun-Li look so damn weak? Every single time she gets put in a movie, she ends up in the hospital after this great battle, yet Guile takes even worse abuse, and he's pretty much fine. That's not right. She's supposed to be the strongest woman in the world.

Chun-Li isnt weak! She fights not knowing Juri's ability! And she also protect innocent bystanders while Cammy and Guile pretty much prepared! I like this because it might features more character from the alpha/zero series. Expecting more awesomeness on episode 2!

Aside from the storyline, am I the only one who find bothersome the fact that Guile looks like some gym-abusive guy on steroids? Just like the game, I don't understand why Capcom is buffing up SO much every one of their characters! Only Zangief, Bison, and another handful were that big; please keep Ryu, Ken, Dhalsim, Guile, Birdie, everyone just as they're supposed to be!

Awsome show and char designs, seen a few animes of Street fighter, this is one of the better ones, better then that alpha one, I just watch em for the show they put on. I don't expcet much story or charachter sense. Its like they tried to make a movie and cut it half ways.

Chun Li's fight against Juri Han made sense since she was distracted from the mother and child. This doesn't mean Chun Li is weak. Her capabilities were shown quite well in the Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. My complaint with this OVA is that Juri Han pretty much beat the crap out of all three of the main protagonists (in the OVA). Actually, that's not even my main complaint. My main complaint is that I wanted to see a better fight from Cammy, but she didn't execute any of her trademark moves such as the cannon drill. Too many distractions. It was all a Juri Han show. While I acknowledge that Juri Han is strong because of the eye and she is a great fighter, it made Cammy look like nothing when in fact she is a damn good fighter herself. And, she's hot too ^__^ Not much story-wise. It was just a series of fights. I give it a 6 for the animation alone.

It was completely awful, but of course, ANYTHING with a legitimate fight in it would be better than "Ties that Bind", possibly the worst OVA ever made. Still, incredibly bad, and a total insult to the amazing gaming franchise, as well as the superb Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Oh, and I usually don't mind the animation, but holy hell were they missing a bunch of frames, and some of the shots were fucking brutal. Take a gander at this; ![]() Guile looks like a fat, misshapen blob!

Saw this a while ago and seen it again recently, did inspire me to pick-up SSF4, thanks a lot Juri Han. I like gals like Juri, she is evil, but has a reason for it.

Didn't have very high expectations but it still was fairly disappointing. It wasn't very interesting and the fights were pretty lousy with Juri clearly being overpowered. Characterization? Man, Guile, Chun-Li and Cammy all felt so flat. Juri clearly is the only character the writers bothered to give a personality.

I wish we had more than one episode. I guess we have to play the game to find out what happens next? I enjoyed the fights. Guile looked really weird in some scenes though. 7/10

It was okay. The story was super bare bones; this was basically an introduction to Juri. I find her annoying; that's whatever, though. It was refreshing, in a way, to have a Ryu/Ken-less story, though Guile, Chun Li, and Cammy did basically what you expect them to do. Much more colorful than Ties That Bind and more action.

Not exactly stellar writing (who would have thought) but very satisfying fight scenes. Juri is a fucking badass and KitaEri had waaay too much fun voicing her. :3
