It will not get published in Japan. As for publishing at all - your English is terrible, so it won't happen. If you'd like to try anyway, google up a list of all the publishing companies in your country and send your manuscript to them. All of them. Especially any that are known to sell smaller books rather than just novels. They will send you either a proposition of interest and/or a possible deal or tell you (and this is what will happen) they are rejecting it. edit - here's a list, just find your country I suppose. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Publishing_companies_by_country edit 2 - You were born in 96 so you're not even 18 and you think you'll get published, localized into Japanese and published there as well, and then made into an anime? Haha. No. Spend another 5 years learning better English and perfecting your 'light novels' and then try again. If you work hard enough and are actually talented whatsoever you may get a small publisher to pick you up if you're extremely lucky and that's the end of your journey. You don't submit something you wrote during middle school recess to publishers, that's just being rude. |

Levelev said: Hello :) i made 2 light novels. and both of them have 7 volumes each and im pretty confident about it. in the past i used to be a script writter in our school drama club so i can put up conversations very well, the only problem is... i dont know how to get it published... i googled it many times but i cant get the answer im looking for, my dream is to become an author and to have my novel published and have an anime adaptation (hopefully) so my plan is to get it published in japan, im actually studying japanese right now, and i already started translating them from english to japanese, being an otaku, having your own light novel published and having it turned into an anime, and watch it with your own eyes is the best feeling right? :))) so pls. help me... thanks :))))) Well....... Light novels tend to be published volume by volume I think. If you got the cash I'd suggest trying to find some sort of professional translator, see what they have to say about it. (I know where I live, here in Britain, there are several foreign language centers dotted around for those who need translations). It'll go much faster if you get it translated professionally. Then I suppose you just need to take a look around for some light novel publishers and mail them your first volume and see what they think. (Check the afterwords/credits of published light novels already - some may have the names of companies in them) |

Is it even good enough to be published? Before you start thinking about translations, it would need to sell well enough in your own country to warrant translations for other countries. How about an extract? |

Don't quit you're day job is all I'm going to say. Even if by some miracle it is decent, no Japanese publisher is going to turn you down due to you not living in Japan. I'm assuming because they probably want to see you regularly with an editor and other important shit. |

Light novels don't have that aside a few (excluding the cover) - and evne the ones that do have a couple pages at most that are art. Graphic novels are mostly comics and manga. A light novel is just a textual piece of literature that's not as long as a novel - hence "light". It's lighter reading and not as lengthy, and usually released in parts. Novellas would be the equivalent, I think. |

Novellas would be the equivalent, I think. This would be the closest. Typically you wouldn't see a light novel or novella reach more than 200 pages and they usually run as a series before getting compiled into a novel. I'm not sure if there's a defining difference in length between novellas and light novels or if they're close enough to more or less be the same thing. The wiki for LNs states (lolwiki) that the target demographic is young adults, but I've never seen an entire writing style directed specifically at an age group. Content, sure...but a writing style? I might even be using the wrong terminology there. Maybe print style is closer to being correct? |

Content, sure...but a writing style? Well, light novels have furigana and easier to understand kanji a lot of times. Essentially it's a language reason they can say it's "written" for a younger demographic, I assume that's all. |

A novella can really be written for anyone, though I doubt you will find many 2nd graders these days going out of their way to read anything longer than the instruction booklet that came with the latest Pokemon game...not that I ever bothered to read them. |

It's because each publishing company has their own 'thing' that they are known for within the world of readers and writers. If you submit the most AMAZING story (like FACTUALLY 10/10 WOW BEST STORY EVER WRITTEN) that's focused on action and mystery to a company that - within the industry (even if not to a normal random person who probably doesn't read) is known for featuring female main characters or romance aspects, or whatever else, sometimes even small things they happen to simply have in most (like at least one type of specific archetypical character or event) but not yours - they will NOT publish it. |

Search for a list of publishers in your own country. You will definitely find some. I would recommend writing in both English and Filipino as that is your national language. Go for English only if you are comfortable with it. If publishers are not ready to publish your novels you can always self publish it. Google self publishing...it is a great way to get you started. Self publishing will not replace your day job so you should not plan to quit it. Also there may or may not be much profit but it will be a good exposure and a satisfying experience for you. And maybe after that publishers start to notice and publish your next books. So keep writing and always hope for the best. |
