yeah first listen. it's sonically ridiculous. a lot to take in.
black skinhead studio version is so different than the live version - gonna take a while to get over that.

Second time through and i just started crying during the last track. This is the greatest album of music that was ever composed. This should be sealed on a spaceship and sent into deep space in search of intelligent lifeforms so they can enjoy the finest piece of art our civilization has to offer.

I really like Kanye West. I mean, I really, really, really like him.

This album is a reason why: it sounds sooo different. He never really produces two albums that sound the same. Perhaps I can hear a Death Grips influence?

Inb4 Information tells us we're all sheep. Hyping things that are actually good is fun and hilarious. Fuck "Attack on Titan," Eren ain't Yeezy.

Justin Vernon sounds so good on I'm In It.

Started from the bottom, now he Yeezus.

I don't know if this is even allowed, but I love him and Taylor Swift simultaneously.

I haven't really listened in depth to the lyrics yet better get on rap genius, but I'm liking the sound of this album. It's once again something new, and it's aesthetically pleasing. Chances are I'll enjoy it even more once I start really listening to it.

I'm a little disappointed with the way the album version of Black Skinhead turned out, though. It sounds so much tamer compared to his performance of it on SNL.
I've heard this a lot, which is why I'm glad I only listened to the live version once.

I don't mind it but I still think MBDTF is the superior album.

Need to give it a listen in the car before I make my final decision on it.

Very cool. Not as good as MBDTF obviously but it does have one major advantage over that album of being more concise and consistent, where as that album had some patchy and bloated crap amongst the excellence.

Miles better than Cruel Summer.

It's not his best but there are still a lot of quality tracks given the length. Black Skinhead, I Am A God and Blood On The Leaves are my current favourites.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with yeezy Stans saying this album "broke new ground" in terms of style and production. I'm a huge kanye west fan, and he's usually an innovator, but Death Grips did this style first and arguably better. Can we praise yeezus while still giving them the credit they deserve? Sheesh....

Worst Ye album by far but still good, my favorite track is Blood on the leaves with Black Skinhead as a close second. With that said On Sight is probably the worst song i've ever heard from Ye.

It's OK, it doesn't need to be that good.

I should probably listen again to a Death Grips album, I remember I hated those before, maybe Yeezus will let me appreciate this style a bit more.

the only songs with death grips influence are the first 4. and they are just that. influence. there's a reason why i dont really like death grips and yet love the first 4 yeezus tracks.

edit: and it definitely broke new ground in terms of production. death grips may have invented the style that kanye takes influence from, but in terms of production, yeezus is leagues beyond. the whole album is in a way a big experiment with atmosphere and messing with your sound pallet (if that is such a thing - you get what i mean anyway).

have to disagree. on sight is one of my favorites from the album, if not my favorite. it is ridiculously catchy, his rapping is at its best here compared with the rest of the album, and the drop in and out of the soul sample is bold but brilliant. you might disagree with me on those last two points, but to say this isn't catchy is something i will never understand.

Maybe I have to re-listen to that song then everybody else seems to love it. On Sight left a bad taste in my mouth I almost dismissed the entire album because of this song.

MBDTF and then Graduation. But, to be honest, I haven't listened to his first two albums very much. Have to remedy that soon.

I listen to some pretty grimey/messy electronic music, so On Sight doesn't bother me in that sense (not sure if that's one of the reasons you dislike it). I also love the way he almost growls "on sight, on sight."

About to listen to LR, wish me luck.

I've listened to LR twice through now. It's okay, but I think it's a bit too "my childhood era mainstream hip-hop" sounding for me. It's like being slapped in the face by 2005. Will still give it a few more listens though.
