8MM: Nice, yet lacks of something. Dark mood, dirty story, and a delicious Joaquin Phoenix. (7/10)
Michael Clayton: Pretty intriguing and well-made political/legal thriller. Good cast and music, too. (7/10)
The Ghost Writer: Quite impressive Polanski movie, nicely done and with plenty of mystery. (7/10)

It was a Czech Movie... how do I translate it? Cosy dens? It doesn't sound right. As for a better known movie, it was Modigliani (about the Italian painter).
The only thing you can rely on is that you can't rely on anything.

I had a horror/horror-related movie night, so I've watched few.
Last House On The Left - Not worth watching, you will get to see some old man's ass while his raping a teenager :/ What the heck. 3/10
The Shrooms - Bad, but at least hilarious within it's stupidity and simple "special effects". 2/10
Scary Movie 5 - Fun while watching with the group of other people. 6/10
Possession - It had polish ghoust, so I have to recommend it ;) 6/10
Collection - Kinda like the Saw series, and I really like bloody stuff like that (as long as it's not torture-porn genre), so 6/10

Gold Rush (1925)-Very funny stuff. I watched the 1942 re-release with narration with could be a little jarring at times. But it was still a good movie.

Cadillac Records: Music, drama and Adrien Brody. Pretty good, despite having Beyonce in it, although not particularly compelling or deep. (7/10)
Chromophobia: A bunch of slow-moving family stories. Too much slice of life drama for the sake of it. It's got Ralph Fiennes though. (6/10)
Trust: Tries to be a compelling and dramatic portrait of a modern issue; is actually a boring and useless movie. (5/10)

I went into it not knowing what it was about. Kinda slow paced, had it's humorous moments though it probably shouldn't have. Dark.

Olympus Has Fallen: Explosions, guns and American flags. Cheesy and brainless, but enjoyable. Only watched it for the ridiculously attractive male cast. (6/10)
Upside Down: Eyecandy to the max. Dreamy, captivating and truly beautiful to watch, breathtaking visuals and cinematography. Nice story too, although not deep enough. The clichè finale ruined an otherwise impressive and unique film. (7/10, might give it an 8 after rewatch)
Lord Of War: Excellent movie, one of the best I've seen recently. Crude and hopeless, a depressingly realistic view of our sick sad world. Highly recommended. (8/10)

Underneath: A quite obscure and torbid Soderbergh thriller. Flawed but intriguing enough. Male cast is do want material. (6/10)
Stormy Monday: Decent noir from the late 80's. Crime, drama, romance, Jazz music, and a super delicious Sean Bean. Classy. (7/10)
Mr. Brooks: Rather compelling and weird thriller with a very Dexter-like plot. Well-made, great score, pathetic finale. (7/10)

Walking Tall (remake): Mediocre macho-fest that tries to be serious, it's quite hilarious... but still bad. (5/10)
Kiss Of The Dragon: Just another action movie. Martial arts, cliché villains and stupid plot. Jet Li was cute though. (6/10)
Safe: Jason Statham action flick. Nothing original, but decent enough. (7/10)

+ rewatched A Life Less Ordinary (8/10), Never Back Down (7/10), & The Hitcher remake (6/10).

Funny Games
4/10 The bad guy taunts the audience for watching it (and other entries in its genre), and every character established in Funny Games is either killed before it ends (the main characters), forgettable, or simply never shows up again. I only saw a few minutes of it for this reason.

Iron Man 3...eh, not the worst superhero movie, but not as good as the other Iron Mans'...they could have done a lot better by not going the route they went/trying to make it too big (cuz of that, I think they lost something along the way: the technological threat/villain like the other films were all about)

Unbreakable: Boring nonsense. Probably Shyamalan's worst. (5/10)
Ethan Frome: Tediously boring and depressing. Lots of excessive drama, some romance, and more drama. (5/10)
My Own Private Idaho: Gus Van Sant once again delivers a sleep-inducing film that does not kindle my interest in any way. It is worth watching only for Keanu-sama and River Phoenix, both breathtakingly yummy in this. (5/10)

Eccentric movies galore desu~

Lost Highway: Not as atrocious as Mulholland Drive; outstandingly slow and tedious nevertheless. David Lynch manages to do shitty movies even with good actors in them. (4/10)
The Fall: Bizarre, overlong, rather boring, very pointless. Visually stunning (it's Tarsem Singh, afterall), nothing more. (5/10)
Four Rooms: Weird for the sake of weird, brilliant but not that funny, it's saved by Tim Roth's performance. (6/10)
Cecil B. DeMented: Psychotic, deranged, lunatic characters + crazy indie mission + straightforward motto ("demented forever!") = Enjoyable, hilarious, mad piece of cinema. Also, Stephen Dorff is pure gold in this. (7/10)
Benny & Joon: Comedy, family drama, and odd romance between a quirky girl and the usual weird Johnny Depp. Quite lovely indeed. (7/10)

Fast 6

Was pretty much what you would expect from the series. Over the top action and such that could never ever happen, but fun. Especially The Rock, love him. Cannot wait for the next one, introduced the new bad guy, another favorite action star.

More weird films...

Bridge To Terabithia: Lovely fantasy movie, brave, original and clever. Depressing ending. (7/10)
The Taming Of The Shrew: Exhilarating Shakespeare re-telling. Rufus Sewell with skirt, boots, nail polish and make up? Yes please. (7/10)
Youth Without Youth: Interesting story, promising start, disappointing development. Tim Roth did a superb job, as always. (6/10)
Wonderland: Drugs, sex and no interest whatsover, apart from Dylan McDermott and the soundtrack. (5/10)
Animals With The Tollkeeper: Tim Roth again, but this time in one of the most utterly tedious and pointless movies ever made. (4/10)
