| One Piece has tearjerking dramas. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann had that bittersweet ending. Code Geass is also a really sad mecha but the fanservice ruins it. You might try Mobile Suit Gundam 00 if you want something serious. And the following ones might not be true since I haven't completed them: Cowboy Bebop, the fact that what will happen in the end is a meme already. I've got spoiled so many times =( Terra e; I just heard it has a sad ending. (Good animes usually have sad endings you know xD) Eureka Seven; same as above. It must be sad oO |

| Chrono Crusade .... it does have some moments of fanservice I guess but it's not really that bad....has some nice action, great characters, and, while there are funny moments, overall it's a pretty sad series especially in the latter half of the show. I also recommend the manga. |
