What do you think about series with long, descriptive titles?

You know, they describe the premise because they can't come up with anything creative?

Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai and Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai come to mind. Fans come up with the shorthand but otherwise it's a long title.

"I don't mind long and uncreative titles because they're straightforward about what they're going to do."

Off topic: Would you watch an anime adaptation of this?

We also got Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo? and Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru this seasons which is a pain to type out. I'm sure everyone else knows of AnoHana's full title name: Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Lol

Overall, I'm not really bothered by them, I usually just shorten them when I can. The title can be what it is but it won't affect the anime itself. I mean, it's not like your gonna score a anime higher or enjoy it more/less because the title name.

I tend to not notice really until it's translated. Whenever searching for it so I can watch it I don't even remember the full name, just key spellings in it. Like Index... I completely love that series... Yet I still can't spell the M word in it. We without wings - Under the innocent sky. I love this title. The anime was pretty good and the title is beautiful.

So long as they don't have a or spam !!!!'s in their names. Makes for inconsistent naming when some systems don't support such things. Oh, and the attention-whoring (!) it implies.

I'm a little surprised no one said Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai or Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora. Well, Hanbun isn't too long of a title...but both are great animes.

They aren't THAT difficult to remember the names though. The titles translated to English are "We Still Don't Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day" and "Looking Up at the Half-Moon." I remembered them after looking up the translation only once.

Yeah i hate when they do that. What the hell do they think that they are going to accomplish by having a title consisted of 4324234 words + those retarded !!! and starts/hearts?For example:Durarara!,Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica,Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne!

The first 2 legend wasn't in the title. Sorry.

They're quite a minor annoyance. I feel even Ouran high school host club and melancholy of haruhi is quite long, so I just call it ouran and haruhi <- apparently used as a name, anime, and god?

Well you'd have to look it by typing a portion of the title to begin with.

But he values the anime itself and that counts for a lot more because the efforts of the creators were mainly focused on the anime and not the title of the anime. So DateYukata, give him a break and realize that he actually love the series even if the title escapes him.

It makes more sense.

They get the job done when they accurately translate the title. Cat Planet Cuties doesn't get the job done and the English title sound more like a porno than anything else.

For me it's always the title or art the anime has that makes me WANT to watch them. I love it when animes have titles have that "Hmm..interesting!" factor in them. I'd rather watch Angel Beats and Elfen Lied than some long-ass titled anime.

I definitely prefer anime with short titles (especially interesting ones which make you wonder what the heck the name means) but that doesn't mean I have any issues watching ones with longer ones... Just as said, its annoying when searching or recommending to people so I usually just use one or two of its words in those situations.

It's annoying as hell to type out, but otherwise it's a minor hindrance. Tons of books have more or less long titles, so i see no problem doing it with shows.
The only time i wish they'd have come up with a better title is when i recommend it to people using the English translation.
'Oreimo' sounds fine, but most of the time people have trouble trying to absorb the foreign name so i use the English version.

How the hell am i supposed to hook someone to something when i have to say "My little sister can't be this cute"? The worst was recently when i tried recommending Chuunibyou.
"Regardless of My Adolescent Delusions of Grandeur, I Want a Date"
Do you know how much of a pain in the ass it was to remember all that, much less speak it to someone?

Novels usually have okay long titles, like "The adventures of yaddayadda," but with Anime...the titles are just weird in English.

I don't care because I won't call them that casually, I will use the shortened version. And if I'm searching it up I only need one word to get the right results.
