Yeah, this was a good movie. I really enjoyed it. I think I teared up at the end a bit, but of course nothing like when I watched Grave of the Fireflies.

I bought this movie on a whim not knowing what to expect from it. I only knew that it was a Ghibli production which sold it for me. As it turned out I really enjoyed it, it is a very sweet slice of life anime with likable characters. But Country Roads turned Japanese made me cringe a bit

actually i kinda liked the the translation, ofc i wasn't really a fan of the original song, so that might have had something to do with it ;)

sadly the version i watched was fan-subbed by some truly talentless hacks, wish i could find this in a store :(

btw, don't suggest buying online, i avoid all financial transactions on the net.

omg, I LOVED this movie!! The art and attention to detail are just AMAZING!!!!! And the plot and setting are so realistic! The characters are down to earth too and you see nothing of the usual cheesy behaviour that's present in 90% of romance anime! Shizuku is now officially my favorite female lead in an anime! I loved it! Cried a little too!

Wow it was near flawless until that "zomg I LUUUV You" thing at the very end. Abrupt and weird. Just like kids their age, though I guess :/

But this one really had something special going throughout the story and a fine attention to quotidian detail and some really subtle character development. Not just a trite love story by any means.

Ghibli...you are doing weird stuff to me.

First movie to make me cry in a romantic scene was "Only Yesterday" and the first movie to make me cry of I dunno what/happyness/enjoyment/bunnies running in the fields was this one "Whisper of the Heart". The movie is really beautiful, the story is amazing and the characters pffft, they are real.

One of the most memorable anime scenes I've ever seen: The old man and his music buddies arriving and joining the kids when they're playing and singing upstairs... the scene for some reason felt so epic... when I say epic I say end-of-the-Grave_of_the_Fireflies and Asuka-Vs-EVAs-in-EoE epic proportions

This movie made me giggle, cry, facepalm, get goosebumps and have that warm fuzzy feeling all in one. After the horrendous day I had, watching this was like a miracle.

Bittersweet tears for me. I was really touched by the movie's beauty, but there was also sadness. I still don't know what to do with my life. And I still lack the courage to test myself.

Yeah, I agree that the Country Roads sing along scene is one of the most memorable scenes in anime from what I've seen. I also really enjoyed the Japanese version of that song..it sounded very beautiful to me.

Didn't cry.
I did enjoy it, but it's not exactly one of the best Studio Ghibili movies.
Most rushed love story I've seen, it made no sense at times. And made me go o_O at times, especially when the guy shouted that he loves her. It all just happened too fast for their love to be any nawwww to me :P
