An update was pushed to the site yesterday that contained the following things of note:

1. Accidentally adding a duplicate club relation used to generate a MySQL error that wiped all of the club relations; this has been fixed.

A few people reported this happening even when they didn't think they were adding a duplicate relation. However, I suspect that was also tied to this bug. If anyone encounters this problem again, please give precise details about the steps leading up to the bug and a screen-shot of the message.

2. Setting a series to re-watching used to decrease the user's stats (i.e. Time Spent on Anime); it no longer does.

3. Un-checking re-watching halfway through a series used to set the entry as completed with an uncompleted episode count; it automatically fills in the field for you now.

We are currently focusing on trying to return some of the functionality to the site that has been lost to performance problems and bugs in our growth spurts. I can't say for certain what will be done next, but we'll keep you informed as things progress.

nice that's great i had the uncompleted episode count happen to me quite a few times, and does your times spent on anime go up based on rewatches now or does it not count it as any extra?

Mod edit: unnecessary quote.

It still should go up on re-watches as it did before, it just won't discount that you've completed the series umpteen times while you're re-watching, like it was previously.

I know I posted this in the previous topic, but, the API returns badly encoded Unicode characters (it's encoded as Latin1 instead of UTF-8) and I made a full post in the API club including a very simple fix that would take care of it: Click I'd like to see this fixed mainly because it would save a lot of headache from developers who have to deal with fixing the encoding in their programs.

Thanks...though I'm still wary of touching the still partial list.

I do appreciate the regular updates and the return of some functions.

It's probably part 3 of this update that caused it, if you want to add a new anime to your list and go to add detailed info, the episode count will already be at max, even when you then select watching, it will still be max, so you have to set it to 0 manually each time you start watching a new anime. It's not much work to do it manually every time, i just tend forget it.

Hmm, seems fixing one incurred a problem with the other. I'll see what we can do to get both functions operating intuitively. Thanks for letting us know.

Came across this news just now.

This always bugged me to no end as I'm an avid re-watcher. I've been re-watching Gintama one episode per day but didn't change the status since with 201 episodes this really messes up the stats. Unfortunately I just tried it and it still doesn't work for me...

- with just leaving it at "completed" my profile says I spent 161.8 days.
- setting it to "re-watching at 66/201" without adding a number to the "total times re-watched series" the stats get changed to 159.5. Which is pretty much the equivalent of having seen 135 (201-66) episodes less
- setting it to "re-watching at 66/201" and adding a "1" to the "total times re-watched series" it says I spent 160.6 days which equals about having seen 66 episodes less.

:(

you have to manually fill out the "total times re-watched series" by putting a "1" there.
