Okay so since switching from basic in-ear headphones on my laptop to on-ear headphones (hd201's) i've noticed a big difference the sound stage is much clearer and its just more crisp than usual in ear headphones.

But, now i want to buy better ones, and if you know of any good ones please give me some recomendations!

Thx.

I just recently bought a couple pairs of the in ear Psvita headset for the psvita. I use them with my ipod, psvita, and anime. I havent noticed any difference between them and my broken pair of Dre Beats over the ear headphones which costed me $180.

http://m.gamestop.com/catalog/product/98468

These earbuds are nice. Only cost $20. Always read reviews before you though. All the reviews I read for these are exceptionally great.

Koss UR40.
http://www.amazon.com/Koss-UR40-Collapsible-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B00006JILE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340409629&sr=8-1&keywords=ur40

I dare you to find a better bang for the buck. These have the legendary KSC-75 drivers in a shell to widen the soundstage, and are so comfortable that I have them on even when I'm not listening to music. And they're collapsible for portability. Only $25 shipped, but don't let the low price deceive you.

One possible caveat is that they're open, so others around you will be able to hear muffled what you're hearing, but do realize that almost all high-end headphones are open. You get better sound that way. I use these in my room, so the open design doesn't bother me at all.

God, I sound like a commercial.

Id be careful of Amazon personally. Unless you pick the right seller, Amazon sellers are quite infamous for selling knockoff electronic accessories.

Well, unless you click a link under the "More Buying Choices" section, this particular item is stocked and sold by Amazon itself, not third-party, so I doubt you'd have to worry about anything.

I heard that Beyerdynamic T1 is just awesome but it's too expensive for me and I think for you too. And I think it would be too irrational to buy them only for the anime.

^ I use these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00365EA1Q

Took 1~2 day to get used to it, but now i barely feel them, my ears don't get hot, super light... They are surround but outside noises are simply reduced, you can still hear people around you (which i prefer, i am not alone here and need to anwser calls and stuff)

The mic is pretty nice too.

Well I use Beats Solo HDs, and Beats Studios, I use the Solo HD when I'm watching anime for a long period of time as they are much lighter, then I use the studios if I'm watching for a short duration, their quality is even better though, not like I'm recommending these though because they are more made for music, just already had them xP, only thing I don't like about them is that with them on it already reduces most noises, then I love watching my anime in a loud volume so people have to literally yell to get my attention

This - mine costed like 20$ max but sound is fine (not that I would notice some small changes) and I've been using them for 1.5 years in some weird conditions. Durability is more important for me.

If you want to stick to earbuds u can try in-ear IEMs, they go deeper into the ear canal and give better sound, they can be expensive though for the higher end.

As for over ear, just get some logitechs or something, any gaming headset will work perfectly fine

The Solo's? Those were like $180 last time I checked, Solo HD was 220, They are actually pretty good, very light and durable, very good sound but not the best, I use those when I'm watching anime for a long duration since they are so light, about the studios though, the sound is amazing

I'm sure the solo's are comfortable and I've tried to studios before, they're good but probably should have been priced lower than what they are now, compared to what other brands are selling for the same price, in my opinion the solo's should have been 50-75 and the studios maybe 150-200. Even with the celebrity endorsement its not really worth the money, in my opinion anyways, but hey I'm cheap.
Only problem that I have with my headphones is that its a little tight fitting, and i wear glasses so when i use em for a couple hours it gets uncomfortable.

I agree. Pretty much any over the ear headphones paired with eye glasses can uncomfortable in long duration. I just switch back from over the ear to in-ear earbuds. Over the ear headphones are nice but they create more trouble than they are worth. For example, most are not great if your traveling or going out.

I've learned my lesson from spending shit ton of money on expensive headphones. If you invest into a good pair of in-ear earbuds(not expensive) and use a bass booster feature in Equalizer program on your computer or option on your mp3 player, it could pump out the same quality as you hear in most name brand pricey over the ear headphones. Never waste your money on headphones that cost $80 or more.

I know what you mean, the hd201's sound great but there is only so much i can tweak it with the EQ before distortion happens because of the actual speakers in it.

The psvita earbuds I linked paired with the bass booster EQ on my ipod touch equally matches the quality of my $180 Dre Beats Solo HD. They only costed me $20. Only thing missing from them is volume control buttons. I really like the short cord it has too. Just a pain dealing with long ass headphone cords, getting caught on stuff like drawer handles or you sit on them and the headphones are yanked off your head or cord ripped out of the headphone jack.

There's a huge difference between the shitty Koss's and the good ones, like any other brand. I've had the Koss UR40 for 3 years and it still hasn't failed me. And they're so comfortable that some headphone modders take the pads off of the UR40 and put them in their less-comfortable high-end headphones. And the sound is tested and proven, considering it's driven by the legendary (no exaggeration) KSC-75 drivers.

I think the basic Apple ones are pretty good/very durable. I'm not an audiophile though, so my definition of pretty good might not be trustworthy. I can tell you they last me at least a year, and I use them multiple hours a day including for things like running.

Just checked, the one I bought (for Skype & misc. use) was Koss SB 49, it got similar ratings & $ as your model. That's confusing, isn't it. I mean I doubt anyone will go into deep research about what are those generations of KSC drivers.

The speaker casing of Apple earbuds(default ones) crack easily under pressure. And the padding around the earbuds tear over time. Speaker quality diminishes really fast as well.
