May the challenges begin... “Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.” ~ Mark Twain This is not going to be easy, and will likely be even more difficult that images are restricted to anime/manga only. But I want you to think, truly, what forgiveness means to you. What you feel like as you pray for forgiveness from one you love, or perhaps when you wish that you could easily forgive someone whom has wronged you. Also, forgiveness rarely stands alone; pride and stubbornness often have more to do with forgiveness than the actual pain of an inflicted wound. This is a deep theme, and I would like you to search your own heart when you're making your entry. I really look forward to see your entries on this theme. On the deadline date for this contest, it will mark the fourth year I have not been in contact with my mother. In this sense, this theme has a lot of meaning for me, and I hope you will put your efforts into it :) Ganbatte! ^^ Theme: Forgiveness - you may use words/characters/scenes of your favourite anime or manga that relate to forgiveness - feel free to use other images (non-anime) as background or accents to the central image - be creative! Rules: - You can enter up to 2 icons - Icon size: 100x100 or 100x125 (MAL size) - Cannot be from fan art, unless it is your own (or you have permission) - Must be your own work Format for Submitting Icons: 1. Okay, now that's pretty hard. Here's my try: [ Subaru Sumeragi from X ] [ Original Image ] - Why? I felt that Subaru, even after everything that was done to him by Seishirou, eventually accepts everything that he did and lives his life carrying the burden of both their destinies. That is a type of forgiveness. And the second try...  [ Raikou Shimizu from Nabari no Ou ] [ Original Image ] - As if bound to always hurt the ones he loves, Raikou carries the weight of his sins without carrying the belief that he'll ever be forgiven. And even if that is how he thinks, he still tries to protect the ones that deserve to be protected. |

This is a hard one..(Reasoning might not be clear for my avs so I'll have a description) [Hikage Sumino and Hinata /Koko Ni Iru Yo!] [Original] - Hikage is always trying to get stronger, and since she has little progress, she cannot become her true self. Also, Hinata likes Hikage, and as Hinata is popular, she would have to be strong to avoid the rabid fangirlies (Chapter 4/5) wrath. Yup Yup! Second one next. |

| This was a tricky theme for me. =] So much history behind Fai and Kurogane, I couldn't resist a forgiveness/redemption theme. And Momiji's past is just...gah, screaming for this theme. XD 1.  2. | Welcome Kikku :) Nice, wontgetschooled. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to put this second icon in with your first icon :) Just makes it easier for me when it comes to making nomination/voting threads :D As for one person taking first and second... it depends :) If I person gets their icon in for both, I will only make one banner (mainly because I'm lazy). But icecreeaam has made two banners before... so I guess it kinda depends who's hosting it. ^^ I think it's only happened once or twice, and only in the first few icontests... before we had 50 some icons to choose from xD |
