So I was arguing with a friend today over the fact that he doesn't mind if an Anime plot is spoilt for him; he'll just watch it anyway.

This makes no sense to me (with all respect to him, he can do as he pleases) but if I have any sort of twist or ending spoilt then I don't see the point in watching the Anime. I'll just be sitting there knowing what's going to happen the whole time. The shock factor's gone.

Some examples of Anime I've had ruined because of spoilers:

TTGL

Clannad

Death Note

Kaichou wa Maid Sama/ B-Gata H-Kei

Mahou Shoujou Madoka Magica

Damn I hate spoilers. It'd be nice to hear some opinions on this/ what's been spoiled for other people.

Oh and;

No.

I only like spoilers to the next Naruto chapter, otherwise, anybody who wishes to spoil can get gtfo. The first 3 were legitimately amazing shows, so it sucks that those anime's were ruined for you.

If I get spoiled I don't rage. I find the journey to the ending as important as the ending itself.
Also for that Madoka Magica spoiler, I'll just say that it is wrong without a proper context.

On that note, my English professor keeps spoiling books. He's constantly bringing up books during class, and just when you think the synopsis sounds good, he'll proceed to spoil the ending for you. It's like, wtf, mister.

I love you. It's spoilers like that, that make me question the initial spoiler; leaving me unsure about both spoilers therefore neutralising and voiding all spoilers ;)

I don't mind spoilers. I'm able to still enjoy something despite knowing what will happen.

as long as its not a huge plot twist i dont care and it has waaay more impact watching it. UNLESS the person spoils the exact episode someone dies etc.

Generally, I am real mad when someone spoils a show for me. The rare cases is when shows are either terrible, or have open endings. I didn't watch

I don't mind spoilers. When my friend told me what happens in Madoka, I was actually happy cos I didn't expect it and it made me watch it.

I remember someone ruined the ending to Katanagatari for me which REALLY pissed me off, I was really excited to finish that show and then suddenly this douche comes out of nowhere and ruins everything. I can't even bring myself to sit down and finish it because of that now.

MAL is the dark underbelly of the anime community. While other naive fanboys and fangirls run around in real life forming clubs and squealing in deafening high pitch noises about their favourite animus, we remain here, meticulously dismantling the credibility of each and every show, until all that remains is a steaming pile of tropes and ass pulls which we then devour to gratiyfy our glutinous and masochistic desires.

Fuck spoilers! The only exception is Naruto for me. I got spoiled for both School Days and AnoHana but still enjoyed them though. xD

Oh that type of spoilers, I don't care very much. If it's for a show I've never seen, then I would have no clue.

Nope, I don't hate spoilers. Truthfully, I ended up being spoiled big time on some occasions, and didn't wanted it, but hey, it's my fault reading them in the first place; the spoilers aren't guilty xD

I have a few spoilers for this thread:

I don't have an English professor to spoil things for me, but I find that a lot of classical and modern classic novels nowadays have major spoilers in their introductions. Now I am wary about reading them before the text, but I found Nineteen Eighty-Four would have had a bit more suspense if I hadn't known that...

• I look up spoilers to find out whether or not the show is right for me.
• I avoid spoilers that I know shows are right for me.
• I read spoilers to amuse myself.

i dont see why this would ruin the show, it happens extremly early on and i mean extremly early on. and even then the show really gets to the epic levels its known for after this happens

and yes i hate spoilers, i had to dodge FF13-2's ending like gunfire. everyone was spoiling this ending left and right, it wasnt even 2 weeks after the release that this was happening , im just glad i avoided it all cause that ending was caught me off guard

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

See that's what I thought. But some of the people on this thread say they don't mind, so I guess we're both wrong.

Yeah, but they're all dead threads. Did you really expect me to search them out and revive them all again? I was interested in the question anyway. Kudos for finding them all though.

There's a reason that I put them in spoiler tags and named the Anime beforehand. What if you hadn't seen that one example?
No.

Continue in any one of these threads. Thanks to AnnoKano for bring them up.

I'd rather keep all these similarly themed threads together (even if it means resurrecting them later) than making a "new" one every few weeks.
