They were used in these two animes, but are from old folklore: "Son Goku" is the monkey king from "Journey to the West" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Wukong , see the Japanese transcription on the right side). Using the name "Goku" is like using "Izanami" and "Izanagi", they do appear quite often in animes, so yeah... I'm not quite sure about the origin of "Kurama", but there is a "Mount Kurama", a mountain where the king of the Tengu lives... oh the references... But Kishimoto likes to use weird names that fit perfectly to the character... Do you know what "Hatake Kakashi" means? -> "field scarecrow" Well, whatever... I did like this chapter. And I don't want to see Sasuke again. o_O EDIT: grah, ichigoandy was faster than me! |

| Finally after all this dragging on we get an amazing chapter the names were hilarious Kurama ftw xD also I don't remember seeing Lightning chain before, still, pretty awesome The whole taming of the 9 tails is pretty lame still, and will always be.. but whatever The speech is once again recycled(like all 1000 speeches before Prediction: 9 tails will merge with the 4 tails, and make a 13 tails, which is a cool number :P 4/5 |

| I liked this chapter a lot xD Once again Naruto has influenced someone to believe in him. :p I always liked how friendly Bee and the eight tails are, I guess Naruto noticed that too lol. Hope the nine tails (Kurama :p) will come around to Naruto like that. Also someone mentioned the fillers in the anime ending, that's awesome. I also can't wait to see this arc animated. I want to see Edo Tensei Deidara and Sasori <3 |

| This chapter actually moved at a decent pace and got a lot of ground covered - best chapter in ages. I like how 'human' the tailed beasts have become - it's just a shame there are now only two characters to enjoy this. The bigger relivance being that 'Son Goku' (of DB/Z) could transform into a giant ape, held the 4 star dragonball close to his heart and his 'master' was named Roshi - same name as the host for the 4 tailed ape - clear referance seeing as the author grew up with the series. |

I have seen quite a few anime series with the name Son goku but you forget where it really originates from and thats from the "the journey to the west" book and yeah the translation is the "monkey king" see the resemblance in dragonball z. Goku a monkey, a saiyan. Now you know where akira toriyama got the name from and his vision for the character and the saiyan race. |

That was nice. Turns out all anybody had to do was have a decent conversation with their tailed beasts... OK, maybe there's a lot of strength and willpower involved as well. Still nice to see some entertaining progress can be made with out bloodshed. Now all Son Goku has to do is throw Naruto back up so we can get back the story. |
