Hmmm... but really after such a long time of having to cope with cancer would you really be thinking about manga? I have a feeling it will be a long long time before nana gets continued :/

She was released in aprill i think and still no news... its really sad becuase nana really is the best manga ive ever read and its killing me that i cnat find out what happens :(

All us nana fans wish you well yazawa-sama!!! :)

... wait... cancer?! i haven't actually heard that it was cancer... that's horrible! i don't blame her for taking so much time off, having that must not only be exhausting physically but also emotionally. i'm just happy that she was able to fight through it.

we're rooting for you, Yazawa-sensei! <333 we all love you and hope you recover in every way possible!

It's been really long time since last chap. I've read lately that author is not sure if she will continue nana. I just can't beleve it. I don't even want to think that thing like that could happen. To end such story at this point without revealing all things..Naah it needs ending..

Oh, don't even say that. I know that she have to take care of her illness and all that stuff, but she can't just let NANA with no end. Just a few more chapters, but please, a end.

What irks me is even though she's been sick, she seems to have very little consideration for her fans. She could have at least released a statement of intention or update on her condition every once in a while; I mean it's literally been years now.

NEW NEWS ON AI YAZAWA:

She has begun drawing again. Just Christmas NANA characters for now, but this is definitely a positive sign for the future of NANA.

I didn't deny your submission, but the illustration was announced on October 28th. Already too old. And it's uncertain whether she has really drawn it recently or the editors found some stored stocks.

You can tell by those art works..That she's rusty. I doubt those are old stocks.

HOWEVER, even with rust it shows she's drawn again and that's a positive. I'm hoping for an anouncement..Positive or negative before new years. I rather just hear she isn't going to draw again than have to wait around for an anouncement on it..You know what I mean ? =/

It'd be terrible if Nana never finished but... her health and well-being is more important in the end. If she incapable/has more pressing matters to focus on, then there's nothing we can do. Though don't get me wrong; I'm hoping the manga will get updates. It's my favorite series.

I agree with NotSoEpicMuffinz. A real confirmation on her status would be great.

You sure it was on October 28th, cause the website has a date of November 26th?

Also it's unlikely these are from old stocks unless they date back from over a year ago, considering they're Christmas drawings.

I'd be really sad if Nana isn't finished. Just like with Itazura na Kiss except the manga artist for that series is dead. Like an unexpected death for her.
But for Yazawa-sensei, I really hope she gets better. Nana is my favorite manga and anime.

Is it me, or is it some kind of illness going around for manga artist?

Thank goodness! I was thinking that she got something really bad. Hopefully she'll get better soon since that last chapter was a serious cliffhanger!

I find it amusing that people generally care more about Nana than, you know, her health.

We care for her health, she's been out of the hospital for over a year now, so, she must be better now. And we want to see what's going to happen in NANA, because if I remember correctly, the last chapter, 84, ended with a cliff-hanger. So, I want her to get better, but I also want a new chapter of NANA.

Whish her the best of health and hope she makes a proper full recovery.
I don't know what she came down with, but I remember a teacher in my school being signed off work for two years down to a bad case of chingles; it's amazing and disturbing how a desease that is suppose to come and go can stick around for so long and do so much damage.

Any news about Yazawa-sama? I read all volumes of "Nana" in 3 days and I really like this story, so I trully want to know what happens next. I must say I was trully shocked when I saw the status of this manga "publishing" and still, the last updated chapter was uploaded in 2009... didn't know it was because of Yazawa-sama illness. Hope she's better and will come back very soon - I'm really impatient when it comes to things like "hiatus".

Any news??? This was created like a year ago, and still no new publishing of NANA...
Does anyone know if she will continue or not??? I am very eager and excited for her to finish NANA... I can't stand for incomplete works, it'd at least be better if I knew not to expect anything else from it... Still though I wish her well, and hope for her to completely recover from whatever ailment had occurred... <3

I agree. It is depressing. Worst part is the not knowing. If she is not going to continue it would be nice to let fans know. If she is then she should make update at least every 6 months or so. But this absolute unknown is maddening!

I agree about the -not knowing- .. As jljaina says, an update every now and then at least if they still don't know..

I just hope they are not wanting to make money out of NANA stuff and Yazawa sensei's name by not telling the truth tho.. >_<

It is depressing.. I am watching NANA at home, every 6 months or so... I have read the mangas too, I even bought 3 in japanese .. >_<

There hasn't been a single manga that has made me cry as much as I did during volume 21 . It took longer than usual to read since i had to stop and cry ;w; I only just finished yesterday..I can't imagine how the rest of you must feel! I really hope she continues Nana...and if she can't do the manga, it'd be great if she can help the people who made the anime, so the anime can at least continue. I must knoooow what happens ;w;

It's now 2012. I really hope that this series starts soon and can be finished. Maybe she can tell someone else what she expected to do with the series and have them do it for her(I KNOW IT'S NOT THE SAME!) but I just don't want it to not have an ending. I loved Nana(the anime) and loved the feeling I got from watching it. The atmosphere in the anime was amazing and after I finished it, I planned on reading the manga. I just don't want to at the moment until she starts it again because I don't want to get into the manga without knowing if it'll be finished or not. Having an eternal cliff hanger or never knowing how it'll end is just unfathomable. Don't want to do it to myself If it can be avoided.

I hope the mangaka is well and ALIVE. Maybe she's not and they don't want to worry her fans or anything. Who knows. I just hope she gets well soon and if not, it's better to let us know instead of leaving us in the dark. I mean, even Togashi(shounen mangaka known for his hiatuses) has come back and has been doing his manga for quite some time now(who knows how long that'll last).

Joining the huddle of worried fans...

I don't blame her for not issuing press releases; if you were really sick, the last thing on your mind would be writing a press release. I've heard rumors that she has cancer, so especially so if that's the case. Her number one priority should be getting better.

I purposely haven't read a lot of NANA because I don't want to be stuck at Volume 21 with the cliffhanger everyone keeps talking about. I read the first four volumes of NANA, then watched the entire anime series... and have left it at that for quite some time. I think I'm going to start catching up, now, though, because I think about this series all the time and wonder how she's doing.

Fingers crossed that we get some good news soon regarding her health and the possible return of the manga...

Oh dear i just had to re-read NANA and leave myself with the cliffhanger of a chapter (chap 84) again.. Still no news, I just wish she would at least disclose her status of this manga whatever it may be.. But on the bright side, she is still alive and recuperating (i hope), and so there is still hope that NANA will be continued and that it will have an ending, as it deserves.
